Reviews
A dual-zone cooktop and cookware, as well as plenty of cutlery and crockery, were provided. We made the most of the sunbeds on the roof terrace. If I had to mention one drawback, it would be that the trash bins weren't emptied daily. We had brought plenty of plastic bags with us, and there were trash containers at the back of the parking lot, but that shouldn't be necessary. There's also a lovely balcony where you can feel like you're on a terrace in the evening. It's great for people-watching with a drink. It's a full day of entertainment without being a nuisance, even though we were there at the end of September. All in all, we had a wonderful stay.
Pol the concierge came in the following day and met with us. He is very nice and friendly, he help us plan our everyday schedule. Gave us recommendations for restaurants, list of highlights for places we told him we want to go visit. He arranged for our trip in Santorini. He keep in touch everyday. He make our trip so much more organized. He respond to us quickly whenever we have questions. Overall place is very nice and would stay there again if we have the opportunity to go back. I recommend this place.
We had arranged to meet someone at 3 p.m. for check-in. Since no one showed up, we called and sent messages. No response. Then a woman came from the bar next door and said that no one had informed her of our arrival. She opened the front door and told us to put our suitcases inside and have a drink in the bar until someone came. We assumed the woman was from the Cosmopolis Suite and that the drinks we ordered were meant to tide us over until check-in.
Eventually, someone arrived on a scooter. The handover was brief and quick. We were given a phone number for any questions.
When we went back downstairs to the bar to finish our drinks, the woman from the bar said we could take them back to the apartment. Twenty minutes later, she knocked on our door and wanted to collect the exorbitant amount for the drinks. Okay... we had almost suspected as much, since the drink menus were displayed in the suite. It's probably a collaboration between the landlord and the bar owner (maybe they're even part of the same business). Sure, that's one way of doing things... but it would have been fairer if they had mentioned it. It leaves a bad taste in the mouth when they try to liven up the bar like this, because during our stay it was practically empty the whole time. But that's a different story.
As for the apartment itself: clean and modernly furnished. Yes, we knew it was located on the busy promenade with its partying crowds. But the fact that the apartment looked great in the pictures and that the soundproofing was highlighted in the description convinced us to rent it anyway, since we didn't want to rely on a car.
...`` ] ;. ;. ;. ;. ;. ;. ;. ;. ;. ;. ;. ;. ;. ;. ;. ;. ;. ;. ;. ;. ;. ;. ;. ;. . . The first night was hell... so much for soundproofing. It sounded like the party crowd was running through the bedroom and living room until just after 6 a.m. The next night was no better; there was a lot of noise until almost 7 a.m.
The smells of urine and vomit that greeted us while we were having our morning coffee (despite the bar owners using chlorine and water along the promenade) didn't help matters.
Of course, the landlord can't be held responsible for THAT! To be fair, the landlord should point out the noise from the bars, nightclubs, and partying people outside the building at night, or rather, the lack of adequate soundproofing.
FACT: We only stayed two nights instead of four because we couldn't sleep at all and were completely exhausted during the day. We paid a lot of money for absolutely no rest and had to find new accommodation for the rest of our stay, effectively paying twice. The entire amount (and the apartment wasn't exactly a bargain during peak season) was retained, including the environmental fee. There was no apology. In the end, they simply stated that they had tried to do something about the noise, but that was all they could do. Whatever they meant by that. Ultimately, our departure was our decision, but we would have at least appreciated some fair compensation.
CONCLUSION: If you want to party and not be in bed before 6 a.m., this is the place for you. You can't get any closer. NOT recommended for families with children or "normal" vacationers who want to be close to the promenade and get a good night's sleep.
I'm only giving it two stars because the apartment was actually clean and matched the pictures.
This review is from a family, not from partygoers, and is not directed at the owner or the apartment's amenities.
We spent a lot of money on a nice place to stay and got nothing out of it. A SHAME
A great apartment and the people managing this place were amazing. A big thanks to Pol who gave us must see locations in the east side of the island and restaurant suggestions in the area and other areas. We used a hire car to see other others of the island.
There is a parking plot behind the apartment for those keen explorers using a hire car.
