Golden Sun Boutique in Malia

The only thing I save about this structure is the location. The rest all needs to be reviewed.. The room in 1 week of stay was cleaned only 2 times, the towels were changed only 2 times along with the toilet paper and towels. the warning was that for any other needs you had to go to the supermarket. Breakfast croissants and cakes clearly packaged and inedible. Butter expired 2 weeks ago. The best of the best is the paid air conditioning €42, that is €6 per day, among other things almost useless because it doesn't work very well anyway. Tiny bathroom and sink as big as my hand. It was a feat even to brush your teeth. Ps: bring your own shampoo and shower gel!!!

Hotel is ok with decent sized rooms and beds that are clean ish. However, the staff are extremely rude with no smiles from any of them over my stay here. At one point a member of staff physically kicked one of my friends which should never be done regardless of the situation as they work there and are not some random person. Would not recommend this place to anyone who's looking to have a good time in Malia as the staff just try and stop this with their horrible manners. Definitely would avoid.

there were three of us, mother with two minors; chosen apartment so as not to be forced to look for places to eat out. There wasn't enough crockery: a knife that broke immediately, three forks, no top sheets, no tablecloth, no broom, no dustpan, no non-stick pans, TV with only one channel in French, broken sockets without adapter. We had to buy everything

Stayed there with my partner in 2020. We booked a stay of 15 days. Since they one I couldn’t sleep from a weird rattling sound. I turned on the lights and realise the whole room was infested with huge cockroaches which started running around when i turned on the light. It was so disgusting. We could not sleep in a room infested with bugs and therefore stayed up all night outside. When talking to the owners about it they said yes we’ve had an infestation there you go and gave me an anyi cockroach spray. That is not what a customer should get. We complained so many times and owners just laughed at us. We had to take it to AirBnB to get it sorted. We took photos of evidence and immediately received a refund from Airbnb as conditions were actually horrible. The pool was also green and after swimming in it i had to take antibiotics for a UTI. When swimming in the pool a cockroach literally floated next to me. After we got refunded from airbnb and moving out the son of the owners was having a party in the garden and when asked why we are leaving we explained and he laughed straight to our face. Said we are lying and its not true but as he was saying that i shouted look and pointed at the pool where another cockroach was floating. Absolutely unacceptable behaviour from them.they were so rude! On top of everything they didn’t state on their advertisement that aircon is separately paid in cash outside of booking. Pretty much a scam by itself. But not only that they didn’t refund us the 150 euros we paid for the aircon even though we moved out on the third day of our stay.

I would not recommend this place the photos are a lie you can find way better places to stay and for cheaper too!!!

Rooms need maintenance. Black fungus on the sealing of the bathroom and the furniture. The closet was also full of it. AC had broken winddeflectors and they charge you 8 euro per night for it. The spoons and coffeemaker were filthy and the toaster broken. There was no attachment for the shower head so it was hanging lose. Very dirty and bad maintained rooms. We did not unpack and left this 'hotel'.
