Zorbas Beach Hotel in Hersonissos

TERRIBLE HOTEL – I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE!

Hotel Zorbas (2 stars) was the worst experience ever. For 1590€ / 12 days:
• Towels are changed only every 3 days, and bed sheets are never replaced, just re-stretched!
• Toilet paper also every 3 days – I had to buy my own toilet paper and wipes.
• On 18/08/2025 there was no water the entire day until 20:00. Guests returned from the beach and could not shower. I have video proof.
• When there is water, it takes 10 minutes for hot water to come, and the water pressure is terrible – impossible to shower properly.
• Rooms look like they were last painted and “renovated” during the First World War – everything is old and falling apart.
• Upon arrival we waited 1.5 hours at the reception with no staff present! Locals kept calling, and every time we were told “5 minutes” – nobody showed up. I also saw other guests arriving around midnight with children and luggage, waiting even longer!
• The owner is rude, unfriendly, and disrespectful. For her, guests are only “money”.
• Check-out is at 12:00, but she kicks people out at 11:00 claiming “we need to clean”. That’s not my problem – it’s her job!
• Cleaning is horrible, hygiene non-existent.

👉 The only positive thing: the cleaning lady – a very kind woman.

👉 The guest is always right – but here we were treated like a problem, not like paying customers.

Conclusion: this hotel is a disgrace and a scam. Terrible service, no hygiene, ancient rooms, constant water issues, rude staff. For this price – a disaster.
Stay away from this hotel!!

I't was a very bad expirience staying in this Hotel. The owners are very rude and aggresive. On our last day of the trip they wanted us to pay for a chair that was already broken. After we denied theese allegations the male owner started yelling at us while we were sitting in the garden. We said that we will not be paying for the damage the male owner (previously mentioned) said that we wont make it to the airport and that we wouldn't be able to exit the country. He was yelling loud at us and was not respecting out personal space. Very unpleasent experience
PS: the damage was 30€

It is worst hotel, I have ever stayed in. Rooms are dirty, owner are not pleasent.

This hotel is absolutely the worst hotel i ever stay in. The owner of the hotel is a very unpleasant man who is screaming at all customers and tried to make us pay for the room which was broken when we came in. The food on breakfast is not eatable

The worst experience i ever had in my life.
Firstly I like to mention that the hotel is scaled as 2 stars. This is not true because they are not following the requirements for that and the reason is that a 2 star hotel is required to provide 24hrs air conditioning to all customers free of charge. Instead of this, owners have illegally placed a switch controlled by key (see attached photo) to main electrical panel of room and they are illegally demanding from guests to pay for extra fee of 50€ per week to provide to them the key of the switch so they can have air conditioning in their room. In our case they ask for 50€ to be payed in cash with out providing legal receipt for the service. Air conditioning of course was out of order and start blaming us for the issue. For our bad luck the temperature during our stay was about 40C, so we have to keep windows open and the mosquitoes bitting us all night long. Second the breakfast serving in jails is higher of quality and quantity compare with the breakfast serving this hotel (see attached photo). Finaly and the best of all the owner (Men at 60s named Manolis) verbally attack us (Women at 30s) at the point to almost have body contact in a way to make us feel under threat. That kind of behaviour makes me to say that this man/ster is a disgrace for Cretan people,which their hospitality is known worldwide.

Cheap hotel, but not really a good one. The staff keep it clean which is good. On the other hand, house owner women Eleni is quite impolite. The breakfast is the poorest thing you could eat, it's just called a breakfast. Every day you get few slices of ham and some cheese, a jam and butter, a coffee and a glass of juice. Safety deposit box for 2 Eur a day is very expensive too. Also buy some mosquitos protection if you don't want to go crazy during your holiday.
