Hotels on Danube river in Hungary

The hotel is very close to the metro station and tram station. However, the room has not totally cleaned up since there is some biscuit chips on the desk and the floor.  One of the lamp does not work but it isn’t a big problem.

Hotel is okay .. claims to have a gym but they just put a box in the garden and claimed it a gym, not ideal. Otherwise rooms are clean and location is great

Convenient location with great transport links, clean environment, spacious rooms, comfortable beds, and good soundproofing. The service was friendly and efficient. There are many restaurant options nearby. I'd definitely choose to stay here again next time I'm in Budapest.

The hygiene level is quite good and the facilities are quite clean. Location close to various attractions such as Central Market, Liberty Bridge, Danube River, Cruise Marina. It is a good option and you can check out your luggage for free.

A beautiful hotel at a nice, quiet location close to the center (and even closer to the trams). The staff was really friendly, beds comfy, and breakfast tasty. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars was that in our case the rooms weren't too clean and there were some ants inside near the balcony and in the bathroom. It's in the Buda district, and for Buda, it's pretty good. The transportation is convenient. However, I still feel staying in the Pest district is better. The hotel is very close to Buda Castle and Gellért Thermal Bath, both within walking distance.

We went to Portobello based on a recommendation of friends, who both have 2 kids each. We asked them to recommend a good spa hotel not too far away from Budapest and Portobello came up multiple times. Now we know why. Very good location. We liked the high quality saunas and excellent cold plunge, but avoided the pools since they were mobbed by kids! Ditto for breakfast... This place caters to families, so go early if you want to avoid the noise!

Everything was fine. The room was clean, and big enough, the food was varied, and satisfied all needs. There was a room for children too. The experiens spa was very good too. The staff was polite, and helpul. The wiew from my room was wonderfool.

Overall, the unit was clean, with functional appliances. However, we couldn’t use the wifi for the first day due to technical issues and the tv throughout our stay.

The location is nice and close by everything in the city center, but definitely need renovation Pillows are stone hard and the same mattress is, it was hard to sleep there for two nights

A lovely apartment in a perfect area, central to the downtown area really close to excellent restaurants and bars. Really close to public transport. Self check in and check out was great and the apartment itself was clean and comfortable. It was in a quiet area.

November 2025: What a wonderful gem in the heart of Budapest. It's at Deak Ferenc ter -- about a block from the Ferris wheel (for comparison's sake). The Museum of Illusions is in the same courtyard as the hotel. Quiet, clean; friendly staff; good prices. The metro/subway is about a block away as is the fashion street. A lot of action in the area. Tons of restaurants. And the 100E Airport Express...

3 nights in Budapest Victoria was amazing! Super friendly and gave some great suggestions of things to do in the city. Hotel was centrally located and walkable to almost anything! The room was nice, however the WiFi was spotty at best and the bed wasn’t the most comfortable, but not terrible.

This was such a cool concept. It’s located in an amazing part of town. The staff was very helpful and the room was very spacious. Would gladly recommend as a key place to stay while in Budapest.

The hotel is in a perfect central location. I have a couple of negatives about our booking. Although it’s called a hotel it’s not. Just walk couple minutes from Ferenciek station or 5 minutes from Deák Ferenc ter station and I can walk to Vuci street behind the hotel 3 mins by walk as well. I love this place about location and room. Amenities in room were so full-options. But only one thing I didnt understand was where is heater in the room. Important to note that currently the hotel is undergoing renovation works so there is often construction workers and it is in essence a construction site. My friend and I where here for 3 days city break. Great hotel. Really good location. Near to most tourist attractions. Staff where very friendly and helpful. It's a basic hotel but very clean and beds are comfortable. Breakfast is basic too. But very good. I would certainly stay here again.

Great location in city. Close by to all the touristy locations & the Xmas markets. Rooms were good, comfortable bed. Not a big fan of the breakfast (but i'm not a huge fan of Continental European breakfasts anyway). No lift in the building.

Such a good location in the city, we stayed for 4 nights on a room only basis, so can't comment on the restaurant or food. The room was great we were on the first floor so didn't have to carry our luggage up to many flights of stairs, beds were comfy and we cast our streaming services to the TV on the room. Lovely comfortable hotel on the Buda side close to the Castle. The number 16 bus was just around the corner which was handy for getting into town The room.waa very comfortable I would just say the bed very squeaky. Perhaps the mattress needs changed. The room was clean and on decent location. If you arrive late there is probably going to be a loud party on the first floor. I had a hart time finding the reception because the security werent giving exact directions.

Quite decent for money they ask. It's an old building but it's in a city center so everything is relatively close. Front desk quite useful and nice.

Short stay vacation - Budapest I personally enjoyed the heritage of the building and the antiquity. My room 15 was well pointed, large and 2 windows. The breakfast was sufficient to get your day started. Felt like a safe area and good walking distance to main attractions.

In my review I want to specifically mention the politeness of the staff and readiness to support us, good breakfast, convenient location of the hotel and its unique atmosphere of the 30's. The location is good. When I checked in, I told the front desk that I would not have breakfast because I had to go to the airport early the next morning. The front desk enthusiastically said that they would prepare a breakfast package for me in advance.

Location of hotel was conveninat for me because I had a meeting in neigbourhoud. I came with car and I contacted hotel in advance with questions about parking (hotel doesn't have their own parking but you have to go to Mercure and it is pretty expensive) and request for early check in. Staff and communication was perfect with all instructions and you can see that to those guys customer really matters

First time in Budapest traveling with my wife to celebrate our anniversary. We found the hotel great, location is fantastic, close to the centre but in a quiet spot, 5 minutes from the beautiful town market and green bridge.
