What an incredible stay! I was traveling with my grandmother and they went above and beyond to provide exceptional service. We saw the auroa borealis and had an incredible meal. Having hot baths on site is so so nice
They do have a steam room and hot pools and a cold plunge pool but it looks nothing like the natural springs on the ******* profile
This was our second time staying at Hótel Húsafell. The staff is all very friendly. The restaurant meals were delicious. The room and hotel is comfortable and cozy. The hotel can coordinate several great excursions
My family stayed here for 2 nights and we had a great time. Food was fantastic, staff was very accommodating, 2 minute walk to the activity center. The pools were very relaxing. I highly suggest staying here!!
Hotel Husafell is a beautiful place to get away and enjoy the idyllic Iceland countryside. Lovely paths to walk on, gorgeous views, thermal heated pools, and an awesome happy hour and restaurant
We didn’t have time to enjoy the pool but it looked very nice and saw a number of people using it. The hotel is quiet and our room was large and had a great view
The rooms were clean and the location was nice, but the rooms were a little dated looking. For the price I wasn’t too impressed with the quality of the rooms, and I thought breakfast was lackluster
Located in city center.
Walk distance to food center, famous hot dogs and a grocery shop. Room doesnt have AC so during summer you will have to open the windows or doors.
Toilet is decent sized and slightly leaking.
This was the best hotel We stayed at. Newer modern tasteful finish in a pretty little town. We did hear the odd bit of road traffic. Our room was on the street side. Very close walk to food places
One block to dark area for viewing northern lights. Sign up at the desk for wakeup call if northern lights active. Breakfast was full and also the best we had on our visit
This tub was a rare bonus!
There was ample closet space, comfortable beds, a clean room and clean bathroom. The bathroom was of a decent size, too. Bathrooms in Iceland (so far) have been pretty compact
Comparable to a low end hotel breakfast in the USA. Though there weren’t any big issues with the hotel, I probably would not stay there or recommend it
The decor, facilities, and towels were rather old, but the room was fairly large and the breakfast was quite plentiful. After checking in, while I was taking a shower, the receptionist knocked loudly on the door
My stay at the hotel was outstanding from start to finish. The staff were incredibly friendly, professional, and always happy to help. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and everything was very well organized
It’s clear that great care is taken to provide high-quality service. I left feeling very satisfied and would happily recommend this hotel to others, I would definitely stay here again
Great hotel. Staff very helpful and friendly. Great rooms, spacious and very comfortable. Great position, pretty good for the Northern Lights. Wonderfully breakfast. Really enjoyed our stay.
Really nice hotel, the sauna was perfect and the room cozy and clean.
This hotel serves as a base for exploring the West Coast, offering travelers a warm welcome from the relentless Icelandic winds. The free use of the heated outdoor bath was fantastic. I would definitely return.
Very helpful staff and great room. We stayed here over the new year in room 457 which is a business class room. The room is spacious and quiet with comfortable beds. We had coffee, tea and complimentary chocolate
There is even robes and slippers in the closet. The food in the restaurant was exquisite and the service was excellent. The food is not cheap but worth it. Be sure to book your room including breakfast
It's a bit more expensive but completely worth it. There are all kinds of things, both cold and warm for every taste. One thing which needs a proper update is the wifi in the room
We basically had little to no connection in our room. Not that it mattered much for us, but I imagine it can be a problem for some
Booked a room including breakfast. The breakfast had lots of variety and choices and fresh produce, some of it local. The hotel staff was friendly and available for all request and questions
The rooms were good and spacious, a little bit noisy because of the door between the two hotel rooms. Located perfectly in the city nothing is ever further than a 20 minute walk anyway
Slept here the first night after arriving. Location between the airport and Reykjavik is great. Although the hotel is situated on a kind of business area, there are restaurants and bars nearby within a 5 min. drive.
The hotel view is perfect. I will say this is a good place for viewing northern light!
Perfect hotel between Reykjavik town and airport
Room is nice,clean and big
Breakfast very good with a delicious bread
It's really a good deal
Perfect location with loads of free parking space
Well built and decorated. Very clean, the rooms are warm and comfortable. The one thing I don't like is the breakfast, which is completely cold and quite low end in comparison.
The self check-in experience, even outside of regular hours, was perfect, and contacting the staff via message to schedule everything was very simple and efficient
It is certainly an adventure to drive to this hotel, the hotel itself is stunning, rooms are spacious and great views. The heated pool and sauna were absolute great after a drive to relax
Yeah you are staying at a $600 a night hotel did you expect the meal to be $25? Hotel staff was friendly and Informative. The hotel bar had fantastic views and was very comfortable
In the distance was the smoke from the power station and the snow-capped mountains, and in the near distance was a patch of moss. The hotel's overhead floor was an outdoor swimming pool, which made the photos very dreamy
stayed 3 nights here and the auroras were dancing every night for hours! best way to watch them is from the hotel’s geothermal heated pool
The location is easier to find than expected, and the front desk lady is super nice!! The hotel dinner is average, the breakfast is very nice~ The scenery is great, I will stay here again if I have the chance~
i booked the smallest room but got an upgrade to a suite thanks to my Marriott Bonvoy Platinum status, which is honored at this hotel. including late checkout at 2pm
Lovely cosy hotel. Very quiet and stylish. Rooftop pool was such a bonus super warm and very relaxing.
Checking in and out was very easy.
Perfect location with lots of nearby shops, supermarkets and bakeries.
Near a darkened headland as well so if the Northern lights come out, it's only a few minutes walk away from the back door to get a perfect view over the ocean, which may have been visible from the rooftop sauna too
Managed to catch the northern nights outside the hotel, which was the highlight of our tour which we thought we would miss after 1 week
Stayed here for the last night of our trip in Iceland, excellent location near Keflavik airport with complementary airport drop-off
The Ladies at the front desk are INCREDIBLE, especially for solo travelers, they are very helpful. Perfect place to see the Northern Lights and only 8 minutes from the airport and 20 minutes from the Blue Lagoon
The roof top hot tube is very nice. I wish the shower water pressure was harder and warmer
The breakfast was delicious with a good variety of options to choose from, catering to different tastes. Overall, it’s a great place to stay for a short trip or stopover, comfortable, convenient, and good value for money
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Five stars, without a doubt. My stay at this hotel was absolutely wonderful. To begin with, the food was outstanding. I enjoyed a four course meal with starters, and every single dish was delicious
You could really feel that there is a highly skilled chef behind it all, the food was beautiful to look at and even better to taste
This hotel room was super clean . The staff was helpful and the location of this hotel just beside the road side . Easy to get here. We are lucky to see the aurora just behind the hotel. Will come back again next time .
Everything was perfectly paired with excellent champagne, which elevated the experience even more. After dinner, we had cocktails, and I ordered an Old Fashioned, honestly one of the best I’ve ever had
It is a classy, high quality hotel with unbeatable prices. I would highly recommend it to everyone, Icelanders and international guests alike. An exceptional experience from start to finish
This hotel was very close to the cruise port and the staff their directed us to a walkable distance to a free shuttle bus to the cruise port, We explored the area , which was downtown, on foot and enjoyed it very much
Overpriced for the quality of the room
Good location but room with slanted ceiling and only skylights without windows. Felt like we were in an attic. Not happy with the room for the price we paid.
The location is very good and very convenient
Rooms are specious and clean . Good location near from restaurants , bars and to visit the city by walk .
Excellent property, beautifully appointed. Was just a short walk to our cruise port and to the Harpa concert hall. Staff were very friendly and helpful
Lots of dining and drinking options within a short walk and an excellent restaurant in-house
The accommodation seemed old, but it was in good condition.
The only downside was that the bathroom didn't drain properly.
It's fine for a short overnight stay.
Great hotel, the staff super friendly and service is amazing. Just a little nitpick is the placement of the TV position is a little odd
But the room is super spacious and with a little balcony that faces the seaside which makes winter night viewing in Iceland just on another level entierly
The shower was so tiny; the shower head is not adjustable so my hair got wet every time I got in the shower, the shower curtain clung to my body, and the water got all over the bathroom floor
Also, if you smoke, at night you may be left at the porch in
subzero temperatures, if the night shift person is doing errands and isn't there to let you back in when you've finished smoking
The location is on the outskirts of the very busiest part of downtown Reykjavik, but still central and a stones throw from the ocean walkway
The restaurant and bar was really lovely and food was amazing!! Staff again was so accommodating and friendly. The whole character and charm of hotel Viking was amazing and we would definitely stay here again
We had a wonderful stay at this fabulous Viking themed hotel. The staff & service were impeccable, and nothing was never too much trouble. The food at the adjoining restaurant was also truly delicious
We stayed at hotel Viking this weekend and couldn’t recommend you guys enough! The hotel really stands out especially with the red lighting in the evening, it’s right opposite the harbour which is beautiful we spent both evenings having a stroll along the water, the staff are lovely and very friendly and accommodating
They really made our stay a time to remember for all the right reasons
We stayed in one of the cottages which was really cute and cosy. The cottage was very clean and fresh towels were provided each day
Rooms are spacious and clean. Breakfast is a nice range of continental foods. Had a couple of meals in the restaurant next door and everything tasted great. Nice base location to explore the golden circle
The room was very comfortable, and the staff was very nice and helpful. The location is perfect for those who want to be right downtown on the main strip of Reykjavik stores, bars, and restaurants!!
Amazing staff & hospitality. Can’t say enough how the front desk went above and beyond for my wife and I. 10/10 and would def recommend a stay here.
Parking was a little confusing but after we figured out where the lobby was and how to get to it we were fine.
One issue was that when I first arrived there were a few blood drops in the bath towels, but after I raised that issue the room service was all good for the rest of the stay
the only thing we didn't like was the difficulty in finding a parking spot that wasn't too far away for toting our luggage. As it was, the closest we could get was a good 5-6 minutes walk dragging luggage behind us
The restaurants nearby were excellent. The hotel is on a pedestrian only street. Difficult to get to as it requires a 10 minute walk with suitcases bouncing on a cobblestone street.
Reception staff friendly and helpful. lots of choice and well presented. Bar area a bit small and exterior needed some tlc. Overall good stay and value for money
Despite the hotel’s somewhat unpreposessing location in the middle of what appears to be an industrial estate, we did enjoy our stay in room 501 here
Points of note- The hotel is approximately 2 miles from the centre of Reykjavik. So prepare to walk, hire a car or make use of taxis etc. We were told the hotel has no reception desk-and we never did see or find one
This code also will not work until 3pm on your arrival day. Luckily we were able to attract the attention of the housekeepers who let us in and let us wait while they finished cleaning our room
Google map stated short walk distance to Bonus Supermarket which is best place to buy groceries. The hotel is known for pickup of tour packages, which is good criteria of choosing hotel when in Iceland
The e-mail with this information went to our booking agents, and not me, so I had to call their call centre to get it re-sent. All while standing outside in temperatures below freezing
Breakfast was the best selection I've had so far. This hotel has an elevator which was great to not carry bags up. All great things on this hotel. Staff in the restaurant was not too helpful
Best hotel Ive stayed in so far in Iceland. The room and bathroom was a good size. The bathroom I had was themed a bit like a volcano. Plenty of electric plugs in the room, a TV
I was very satisfied with everything. I only wanted to stay here for one night when I made the reservation. When I arrived, it exceeded my expectations
Room is pretty big and breakfast are nice. Like the area. Have golf course near by.
This is the hotel with the largest and best rooms during my 10 days in Iceland
Best hotel in the area
Comfortable bed
Tranquil environment
Delicious food
Spacious room. Breakfast was nice. Just next to a public swimming pool
Excellent accommodation, rooms and bathrooms are very clean, large, modern and quiet. Great breakfast and friendly staff. Fair price to the quality that offers. Recommended!
This was our first night in an Icelandair Hotel, and it couldn't have been better. We spent a long day driving from Reykjavik, and we were ready to rest
Great location and walking distance into town. Breakfast offered a nice selection to choose from
and can meet all diet preferences.
The room was very cleverly laid out to maximize space, like all the Icelandair Hotel rooms
Very good accomodation with 2 boys age 2 and 7. The bunk bed for them was a huge success
Front desk personnel was extremely helpful and friendly - both young ladies - one from Poland and one Hong Kong. Good breakfast, and Clean serviceable rooms. Bathroom is a bit small but definitely functional
The room was great! The staff were very helpful and we were able to get an early check in since our flight landed at 7am. Hotel was very quiet and nice! Definitely worth a try!
Delighted! Excellent hospitality, you would want to stay here every time. The food and the staff are very good. If you are looking for public transport to city centre then you have to walk a bit for catching the bus
They somehow overbooked our accommodation so the room e wanted wasn't available. Malwina the lady working at the front desk worked to get us a room as it was very late. She accomplished it and we were very pleased
Except that someone rang the emergency alarm like at 7am. Like omg, we're still asleep and a big loud alarm woke us up ! We thought its really a fire or what 🥹. Hope it will never happen again
We stayed there for a week and will definitely use it again. Clean, good upkeep, great service. Breakfast was delicious with a great selection. Quiet and a quick drive to Reykjavik. There's a few restaurants around too.
We had two rooms with views of the mountains and the waterfall, which was truly special. The rooms were a little on the smaller side, but they were very clean and the beds were comfortable
Breakfast had a smaller selection, but the taste and quality were good. I would also recommend trying the hotel restaurant at least once during your stay—the food was quite enjoyable
A useful note: the cold water in the room is safe for drinking, while the hot water comes from natural hot springs (which may have a slight sulfur smell, as is common in Iceland)
She was beyond kind, and informative she helped us reserve a room in the hotel quickly. The restaurant is incredible, very clean!! But above all the staff is so kind and helpful
On the second night (around KP 3), I woke up in the middle of the night and was still able to capture it on my phone despite some light pollution from the hotel
One small thing to note is that the main entrance doors close after 11 PM, so we had to use the side entrance when returning late at night
Hella, Hotel Ranga, 851 Hella, Yuzhnaya Islandiya, Islandiya 🧭 Map
Pool: Pool
We didn’t stayed in the hotel, but we stopped to have lunch, the food was amazing, deer carpaccio and the fish of the day (cod) was really tasty. Also the ice cream
The staff was very kind and ready to help
He was so knowledgeable, and seeing the stars that clearly was beautiful. We did see some of the northern lights that night as well, and the hotel provided hot chocolate for everyone staying up late to see it
What stands out though is their professional hospitality and the service. They are all very willing to help. Recommended for a stay if you were traveling like us to or from the east side of Iceland
The restaurant was excellent — the food was delicious and all the staff members were very friendly and attentive. The astronomer was very kind and knowledgeable, making the stargazing experience even more memorable
My husband and I stayed here for two nights and had a lovely experience. The first night we had the pleasure of attending the star gazing in the observatory with an absolutely wonderful astronomer
Tip for first-time visitors:
If this is your first time visiting, I strongly recommend renting a car, as the hotel is quite remote and having your own transportation makes the journey much easier
Parking is provided, clean and spacious rooms with everything you need. Large TV screen and comfy beds. Warms and nice, pool table too-bring your own chalk. Table Tennis table too-best bring your own ball and bat
We stayed in the newer building. The bathrooms were nice but the linens and towels were dirty and had hair on them
Very peaceful place, didnt take the breakfast option. Iron and ironing board, small fridge provided. Lounge was nice and welcoming. I liked this place a lot actually. The rates were okay and totally met my expectation
Great place, room we had was small but comfortable and functional. it was very close to the airport and super good value for money. The staff were helpful and friendly
It was quirky with large bar, lobby, seating area type thing. Would certainly stay here again
The game room could also do with some TLC, the arcade machine didn't work and there was only one ball for the table tennis table which was broken. Overall, the experience at the hotel was good and would stay again
Hotel in a beautiful, quiet location. This hotel has an incredible view over the nearby river and the mountains beyond. The beds are very soft, and some noises from the neighbouring rooms can be heard
Although the restaurant was closing at 8pm, he allowed us to place an order then go to our room to refresh and come back. We are so glad we dined at Hotel À. The cod fish dinner was outstanding
Small quaint hotel with friendly people
This is a small rural community and small hotel. Interacted with 3 different employees at the hotel all of which were friendly and helpful.
Breakfast was very good and in a room with a scenic view. No Dinner was served at the hotel (end of August), we ate buffet at the Hraunfossar Restaurant - Cafe 10 km away
We enjoyed our stay
Very helpful, friendly staff and nice, comfortable rooms in a beautiful rural setting.
There were flies in the room and the shower cubicle had mould . But the staff was very friendly . The hotel /farm area is with the 5th generation of the family and exhibited lovely photos and momentous
