Surrounded by beautiful landscapes, it felt like the perfect retreat after long days of exploring. The entire property is well-kept, inviting, and full of character, which added so much charm to my experience
A quiet, no frills place to stay on your way down the southern coast. Easy to find and to get into room. The hot tub was great, however no extra towels are available. Structure of the building was very pretty
Great place to stay at the foot of huge mountain. Can watch birds in natural habitat nesting from your balkony. Beautiful log cabin house that is warm and clean. Nice breakfast is include in the stay.
Breakfast each morning was wonderful—fresh ingredients, tasty options, and plenty to choose from. It was clear a lot of care went into preparing it, and it made a great start to every day
Out of all the places I stayed during my trip, Hotel Lambafell was by far the best. The combination of comfort, exceptional service, and beautiful surroundings made it unforgettable
I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area. It was worth coming to Iceland just to stay in hotel Lambafell:)
We stayed for three nights at ‘Gil’ with Nialls and Krippa. They were friendly and attentive and were able to provide us Nialls’ delicious beef burgers whenever we asked…each meal was 3,000 Krona, excellent value
The host are so nice and friendly. They are really taKking care on their guests and can give you good advices where to go in Iceland. The rooms are really cozy and clean. And the good thing is you can also eat there
This is a lovely place! We stayed here for one night and can only recommend it. The owner is a really nice Icelandic guy, who can tell you a lot about his country and give you helpful travel advice
The room was in a separate house with a common room in the middle and (if I recall correctly) 4 bedrooms around it. Our room was very lovely and totally new
I really enjoyed my stay at Ljosaland! I arrived later in the evening and got set up in my room. The room was one of 4 I think in a building with a common sitting area
The selection could be better (maybe add some vegetables and different breads and cheese). I highly recommend earplugs, because you hear everything through the walls
Please note that this site is very close to the regional airport where the tourist helicopters depart from, so there is quite a lot of noise during the day
Also, if having a room without a television is an issue for you, remember to bring a device on which to view your favorite shows and movies like we did!
This didn't bother us too much, and all the benefits of the establishment itself being quiet compensated for the airport noise
If you want a night for a relatively low cost then this place is great value for money. I was in a room with my own toilet and shower, but there are alternatives in the guesthouse
I had two white towels i could use. Reykjavik local airport is just behind the BSI bus station, which means you're going to notice the air traffic (up to a certain hour)
Everything about this property worked great for our stay. Staff and facilities were excellent
Have stayed in other places when we needed bigger rooms for more people and it was the same there. Will definitely stay here again if I’m lucky enough to return to Reykjavik!
Hotel was very close to everything in a great location. Hotel provided an excellent breakfast that was suitable to all tastes
They clean your room daily and provide you with clean towels. There's also a small sink, full length mirror, hair dryer and kettle in the rooms
For all the comments about the sulfur smell from the hot water, you’re staying on a nation built from volcanoes whose aquifers are down in that geologic soil. You travel to experience something different
Rooms were a little dated , however they provided everything we needed, will definitely stay here again
Access in and out was easy around the clock. Key drop off before reception opens was also easy. I stayed in an room with an en-suite bathroom and double bed, and was sad to leave when the time came
We found the location to be a good launching point for our golden circle day - not too far out of Reykjavik to drive to once the sun was down and close enough to Brúarfoss to not have to start the next day too early either
It’s definitely a highlight to walk right down to the beach and feel hot Springs and see underground spots that bread was baking overnight
Simple but perfectly adequate accommodations. We received our room number and an entry code via email and had no problem getting it
Who stayed in the family apartment and have three bedrooms, we all fit very comfortably in there had a full kitchen as well
We were headed up the stairs and an employee came chasing after us to make sure we had everything we needed
It’s very convenient to have a full bar and restaurant that was very prompt, courteous and responsive
(Also, very kid-friendly with kids’ menu and available table games while waiting a very brief period for our food (very fast service)). My favorite restaurant in Iceland!
Amazing food and service! The soup Buffett was great. The fish and chips were simply the best I have had. Wonderful family-owned and operated establishment
A nice bed and breakfast spot where you can use a kitchen if you want to cook. A restaurant is available and is not too expensive with good products.
The fish and chips were excellent, the soup buffet was farm fresh, and the owners are a delight!
Wonderful food and wonderful hospitality
Unexpectedly amazing! Tried the fish of the day - cod - and we almost ate our fingers. Souce is very very tasty. And the colesaw 😍 We also got the soup bowl - with infinite refills. Very good deal :)
My only gripe, the whirlpool tub in the room took forever to fill, was a hassle and the controls seemed to make no sense. Overall though, I would stay here again if the price is right
We stayed at the Diamond Suites for 3 nights, and it was the best. Breakfast is abundant, rooms are super clean and stylish, the staff is very kind and helpful
We checked in on a Sunday and were super pleased with our room. The breakfast was delicious and the hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating. Hotel KEF is on of the best hotels we have stayed at
The bathroom was also fun with a heated toilet seat and multiple lighting options for the tub. We also enjoyed in the surround sound so we could listen to music while we relaxed!
Outstanding stay in a superb hotel, where we preferred to stay after a long day’s travel. Wonderful receptionist took great care of us with room upgrade and early check in
The hotel is conveniently located fairly close to the airport (8-minute drive) and only 10 minutes from the Blue Lagoon. Our family had an excellent time
This was an ideal place to stay. It was great to have a full apartment to use during our week in Iceland. The staff was very nice and helped us when we had issues regarding our flight and airport transportation
Spacious with a lovely balcony. Handy location - shops etc, public transport. Tea and coffee (fancy machine) topped up daily. Walking distance to 3 supermarkets. Mini bar stocked with all sorts!
Flat walking
Lift too!
Towels changed daily. Reception staff all friendly, helpful and obliging. My next place does not measure up at all
Spacious and clean room. Very comfortable bed, great kitchen. Convenient location. Staff were professional and friendly. Very happy with our stay. Recommend highly. Thank you for making us feel welcome.
The hotel is conveniently located near various restaurants, the famous hot dog place (Bæjarins Beztu Pylsur), the traditional market (Kolaportið), and the harbor where you can see the Coast Guard ships and other vessels
While I'm not sure if the antiques are genuine, it's a fun place to browse on a day off without a tour. I also recommend Sea Baron, a place right in front of the harbor that serves lobster soup
Beautiful venue, would highly recommend. Had been doing the ring road in a van that would last couple of days was so wonderful to come into such a cleanup, aesthetic, and calm environment to spend the night again
Originally we did not receive the code for the floor door, but the help we received was good. The room itself was very neat and tidy, and had all the equipments we need to make our stay comfortable
The breakfast was a big highlight, it’s not very often a hotel breakfast tastes like a home cooked meal!
Extra towels and even toilet paper are freely available in a cabinet in the hallway, which is such a thoughtful and practical touch
During our stay the beds were even made up again and fresh towels were provided, which felt like a real luxury
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Outstanding stay – highly recommended in Iceland!
Our stay at Blue Mountain Apartments by Heimaleiga was truly exceptional. From the very first contact until departure, everything was perfectly organized
The residents are quite diverse, from all corners of the country. I even saw a couple from Canada. On this gravel road, I fixed a tire puncture caused by the highway's 🛣km gravel with a tire repair app
A nice and quiet place in the Selfoss area. We booked this hotel to stay after finishing the Golden Circle. We saw the northern lights here, after we were notified via a special WhatsApp group
Decent room for it price. Location is good because it's in the countryside which offers good chance to see the northern lights but has easy access to selfoss (~30min with slow driving)
The hotel was clean, but the room had a slightly stuffy smell. There were only two electrical outlets in the room, so it was a bit of a hassle. The heating was adequate!
Awesome services! The staff are really kind and nice!
The staff were very welcoming and helpful – we arrived late in the evening, and they took time to explain everything clearly: the common areas (with games available until 11 pm), the breakfast setup, and then directed us to our room
It was easy to find the hotel and my room. The code on the door was kept switching but eventually got inside. It’s not a luxury but you got everything you need. The kitchen has all basic stuff and even tea and coffee
Jack at the front is very nice. The room is simple, but very nice people and yes, it was clean. Great price,Great location, and we will share to come back.
Mr. Canada 🇨🇦
(Reception is not allways maned, but it is possible to call them 24/7)
Close to Hlemmur Bus Stops and Food Hall, a 24h market (called 10 -11) is also close by
It was a good experience in Iceland however there’s very less amenities which is only beds toilet in the room and even there’s no microwave in the hotel.
The biggest upside though is the location - it's so close to all Reykjavik attractions! If I ever return to Reykjavik I will definitely stay here again
The bed in the room was too soft, and I woke up with a backache. Also, the customer service was too slow to respond, and the room was completely empty.
I was worried about the bugs, but when we stayed, we kept the windows open for ventilation, but no flies came in. We were satisfied with having the cottage to ourselves at a reasonable price :)
The location is good, about 40 minutes from the geyser, and it is quite dark around at night. The houses are built around three hot spring pools
You can cook in the room but there is no range hood and no seasonings, so you need to bring your own. The pots, plates, bowls and chopsticks are all complete. The room is a little small but quite suitable
Good restaurant for dinner, well equipped kitchen for breakfast and other evenings where we cooked ourselves.
Overall great stay, good location, and easy to find.
Lovely place, plenty of room for us 5, well equipped, lovely hot tub and an amazing location - would highly recommend to anyone exploring the famous golden circle!
Cozy cabin! Easy check-in. The ladder on the bunk beds was broken, but besides that it's a pleasant stay.
Nice Stay , there is a shred kitchen. We cook at the kitchen very easily. Moreover, the owner had treat us as a free special coffee at nearby coffee shop. It’s a good taste of coffee very wonderful! 👍🏽🩷❤️
The room and bath were clean, and the beds comfortable. There's a full kitchen downstairs. The property is modern and well maintained. The restaurant in the next block was excellent. We enjoyed our stay.
We arrived at the hotel around 10 o'clock in the evening. In fact, the hotel is self-service. Fortunately, the waiter was about to get off work when we arrived
She told us how to open the door, how to go to the room, and how to check out. And enthusiastically asked us if we wanted help with the luggage
The shared kitchen was great. The location was also good. However, I took off one star because the bathroom smelled.
Not a bad choice for our stay. Very small rooms with a well equipped kitchen downstairs. Would have like a little bit of storage and another towel.
Hot water was already prepared for the bathtub when we arrived, but unfortunately it rained all night; otherwise, we could have enjoyed the aurora borealis while taking a bath outdoors
Although we specified a 3-person booking, we were only provided with bedding and towels for two single beds. Luckily, we brought our own bedding and towels, so we didn't bother the front desk
Convenient location for geysir and gullfoss. Nice hot tub. Pool smaller than the pictures. Small bedrooms, but amazingly comfortable beds. Good kitchen facilities and nice food at the club house
Very friendly staff.
Iceland is just beautiful in its own right. And staying here just gives you more reasons that all you need is a view outside of this world, but of course, enjoying it in a natural private hot spring is a bonus.
We didn’t eat at the restaurant but it smelled great when we checked in!
I mostly recommend this spot for a one night stay if you’re having an adventurous vacation
This is a great location and place to stay. Very comfortable and perfect position. 2 hours from Keflavik, 20 minutes from Gulfoss.
What a place to stay, in the countryside. The couple who own the farm are very friendly. We asked to see the goats and they accommodated us. The room was great, we stopped for 5 nights and will be back, next year
Host was nice and friendly especially the goats tour. Guesthouse was very neat clean. Just little messy when taking shower. We also enjoyed the beautiful sunset from our unit. Great stay at Iceland.
Our bathroom was huge! It was nice to have the kitchen efficiency, as we made some breakfast in the morning before we left on our travels
The property is on a gorgeous piece of land. It was very quiet and peaceful. The room was clean and spacious
Lovely farm 10 min from Selfoss
Lovely remote farm outside of Selfoss. We caught the Northern lights. Helena was friendly and welcoming. We missed her 6pm goat tour but hope to come back again
Enjoyed the goat tour with the host. Clean space with a small kitchen.
The view was STUNNING! We saw the northern lights, watched horses, and played with the farm dogs! There was a good little pizza place about five minutes away and a grocery store and other stores about 10 minutes away
We were lucky enough to see the Northern Lights on our first night there - but the views out across endless fields of ponies across to the snow capped mountains kept us happy for the rest of our time there! We have already recommended this place to friends
We stayed at this lovely guest house last week and we are really happy to say that it was a cosy place, with all the amenities that you would expect for a comfortable stay. Hosts are super responsive and very organised
We got to experience Icelandic farm life with our girls. They have horses, sheep, and dogs around the property. The dogs are so friendly they spent time playing fetch and following around our daughters.
This was our favorite lodging while in Iceland! The owner was responsive and welcoming. The small house was incredibly clean and well supplied with everything we needed while there for three nights
The cabin is set up very well in terms of storage, beds etc, but also has other touches that make self catering so much easier, like providing washing up liquid, salt etc etc
There is no coffee though but there is another hotel two minutes by walk away from this place that serves coffee, breakfasts and dinners if needed as driving into the city of Selfoss is a bit long and far
Didda and Erling are nothing short of amazing! What impressed me is their attention to detail. We slept like babies in those warm beds. There are also beautiful horses in the area
The fridge and microwave provided by the owner and his wife were very useful as our aim was to save our budget for the activities and unique souvenirs that the country has to offer. Food is very expensive in Iceland
First and foremost, you need to know that this is an extremely clean and well-kept guest house. Right down to the broom in the room. The bedding is of high quality and very comfortable
So happy to have stayed here. We saw the the Northern lights! This place was convenient to the golden circle and super quiet. The hosts were wonderful kind ppl.
The temperature is perfect, if you find it too hot you can turn down the radiator directly on the spot
The main picture in the hotel information is misleading in my opinion. The hot pool doesn't belong to the hotel and is just a separate business about 20min walk
Very good for such a guesthose
++ very good breakfast
++ spacy rooms
+ good bathroom
+ comfortable beds
+ fine location - next to a river, shops, restaurants
+ quiet for the central location in this rather peaceful town
- thin walls - you can hear and feel what happens next door
- you need to call someone to check-in (even within the given check-in time)
Rooms are small but comfortable. We had both dinner and breakfast with are both very good ! The hosts are lovely, helpful and we really liked the family feeling they give to the whole place. Thank you !
EV charger on site. Great location in the middle of the Golden Circle. There was a restaurant right next to the guesthouse, and the main Hill Hotel across from the guesthouse has a nice restaurant.
Well thought out room layout and bathroom has a floor heating system. No TV but has a nice view of a stream in the back, which I prefer more. The breakfast buffet was good
Beautiful stay and I definitely recommend staying here. It was not crowded or busy. Staff was helpful and accommodating. No issued checking in or out
Room clean and close airport . Can see northern lights at guesthouse .
clean. close to airport. can arrange airport service. recommended
Facilities: Pretty good, basic necessities are all provided, bring your own toothbrush and toothpaste. Although the bathroom is shared, it is generally clean and the space is large
KEF Guesthouse is one of the closest and most affordable stays near Keflavík Airport — ideal for short or overnight layovers. The rooms are quite small but serve the purpose for a quick rest before or after a flight
The hotel is very close to the airport, within ten minutes' drive. Service: The staff has a good attitude. They arrived late at night and informed us in advance how to check in by themselves
Facilities include shared bathrooms (only two) that are used by several rooms — around ten or more — so plan your timing accordingly
We had a wonderful stay at Vallakot Farms. The location was perfect for us - coming from Husavik, and being out home base to visit Myvatn and Godafoss. The room was clean and quiet, with a wonderful view of the farm
We had a lovely stay at Vallakot Farm Guesthouse. The studio was well-equipped and very clean. We had a comfortable night’s rest after a long day of driving. We also got to meet one of the owners who was so kind
Did some reading on the deck and enjoyed a cup of team in the morning outside as well. The hot tub is enjoyable at night. Convenient location and easy access to nearby attractions in the diamond circle
A relaxing and comfortable stay in one of the guesthouses. The farm has plenty of animals to see and a resident dog that greets you. House has built in fridge and equipped kitchen for cooking
Check out their vegetables that are grown and sold on their farm!! Highly recommend :)
The unit we occupied was between two others. So, a little like a motel, but with a lovely rural atmosphere. Lovely little table set on the deck which overlooked the pastures
