Our little double bed cabin was so precious and held perfectly fine against the winter wind and cold. We loved that we could park right outside our cabin rather than lug our luggage through a hotel from a parking lot
Have travelled the world but this place is truly special. Vasillis took great care of us all evening until the Northern Lights appeared. What an incredible experience. Great hospitality. Clean, comfortable and warm.
Perfect location just outside Hofn. Very nice guesthouses with shared bathrooms. We stayed only for one night but we couldn't have asked for anything better. In line with prices in and around Hofn.
Wifi worked well, plenty of outlets, shower (though small) was amazing, beautiful view. Only two small things to note: no fridge (which seems common for Iceland?) and the breakfast was an extra fee
We arrived around 8 and they were very helpful with dining options outside of the hotel but we ended up eating there, which was an amazing choice! The service was excellent, the food was delicious
Absolutely our favorite stay while in Iceland. This spot is about 10 minute outside of the main Hofn area and very affordable. Our self-check in was very easy and our room was easy to find
The hotel is very close to the church and bus stop 8. The reception is very nice and kind. He helped us to book the bus ticket. The room is not big but clean. And the chocolate is also good.
Love this!!!! It’s awesome, the guys there are kind and passionate.
The on-site restaurant offers delicious meals and is worth a try. However, since Iceland has 20 hours of sunshine in summer and the room's light-shielding effect is slightly insufficient, it may affect sleep quality
Great location! Only a block or so away from rainbow road and about a 5-10 min walk from the church or bus stop 8. Walk to BSI bus terminal is a little bit further (10-15 minutes), but not bad
Hotel Ódinsvé is ideally located in the city center, within easy walking distance of major attractions such as the cathedral, making it very convenient for tourists
The rooms have so many outlets which was greatly appreciated. Very friendly staff and breakfast was good
It's fine for one night, but if you're traveling with a group, I recommend staying in the nearby suites at the same hotel. The breakfast is very good; they even have watermelon, and that's in winter
Overall great room when we needed a place last minute when weather prohibited us from moving forward. Clean, spacious, nice restroom, and great views no matter what side of the hall you are on
I stayed here one night. The room was very good. Breakfast was a very big buffet. Staff was very friendly and helpful. What I like the most was the bathroom. A very good shower.
Everything was great but would have liked a door on the shower. Wish we had stayed longer to enjoy the lounging areas. Would definitely recommend and would stay again
The hotel is pretty and clean and a great choice if you are heading out to Vik or the surrounding area. The room was very spacious with huge windows that I loved
affordable, staff very helpful an walking distance to everything in Vik. Useful TV screen in lobby with weather/traffic reports to help you plan your day
Furthermore, the hotel’s convenient proximity to the city center made exploring very easy while allowing for a quiet retreat at the end of the day
First I would like to mention that we stayed in the cottage, so my review is about it. The property is 5 minutes from town on a beach area, so there nothing around. The cottage was spacious and clean
I had an exceptional stay at this hotel. The atmosphere is wonderfully peaceful, providing a perfect escape from the city’s noise
The sauna and natural hot springs are standout features—expertly maintained and incredibly relaxing
A beautiful view of the mountain on one side and a breathtaking view of the ocean on the other, nice rooms and comfortable beds, a jakuzzi that overlooks the sea and incredibly helpful staff, this place is amazing
I stayed for two nights in a modern cabin close to the beach, which I think they refer to as a "luxury cottage". Friendly staff, clean & comfortable room with kitchenette including a microwave and mini fridge
located in a safe and quilt town surrounded by snow mountain and sea, this hotel is clean and warm
Parking was easy and location was good. So many stairs to have to lug up and down heavy luggage. Staff were never seen except briefly at breakfast. Overall, it was okay. Views were good.
Hotel is really clean and Tomas at reception was super helpfull. He offered us to take our luggage to rooms as there is no elevator. Breakfast was good and again Tomas was always there if we needed something
I really enjoyed stay in hotel mostly thanks to him. too bad that he is going back to czech republic, i will miss him there
Very close to Kirkjufell, so perfect place to stay if you want to go early in the morning …
Location was minutes away from Kirkjufellsfoss and near a gas station and grocery store. The check in was super easy, just grab your key in the reception. Only problem, there were no check in instructions
my hands were full of conditioner and i could not turn the water back on. i walked to the sink and grabbed a face wash towel to turn back on the shower
The rooms do feel a little tight but enough to move around. The staff is very accommodating and easy to work with. Hotel itself is on a strange one way that Google Maps has a hard time directing to
Room was good, personel was kind. It seems to be an old building. the wodden floor in the room is not perfect, but since it is old it is okay. Breakfast was extremely good and there was a big variety in the buffet
Helped us book fly us to airport and held our bags for us. Room was amazing! I would def stay here again if I return to Iceland. Close to everything downtown and the restaurant was so good
The rooms were quiet and well sound insulated. hand soap, body wash, hair shampoo and conditioner was good. The fuse for the Lights went out once, staff was kind and helped fast
the hotel has no parking but the big city parking is like 6minutes to walk. The only negative point: the handle/ knob/ tab to turn on the water in the shower had no grip
Nice boutique hotel with perfect location. The hotel is getting old but that's not a problem. Everything is wonderfully clean, the breakfast is a dream and the staff is very warm and always friendly
Fantastic hotel in the heart of Reykjavik, full of Icelandic character. The room was spotlessly clean, and breakfast was delicious! We will definitely be back when we next visit Iceland 🇮🇸
This is an old school hotel full of charm. The room was a bit old but really beautiful. The rooms have physical keys rather than cards to show how old. The location is close to most of the good sights
Great location, close to lots of restaurants and most of the main tourist sights - but on a reasonably quiet road so you feel out of the city centre. Very good service and helpful staff
The room was small, the bedding wasn't very clean, and there were no power outlets by the bed, only USB ports, which was inconvenient
The hotel was in a fantastic location and rooms were really comfortable and quiet. Would highly recommend
We loved the spa on the patio and we ate at the restaurant in the hotel and had a great meal. They even had a vegan option (one of us is vegan) made with vegetables from Icelandic greenhouses
Rustic hotel with very thin walls. Impossible to sleep without earplugs when your next door neighbour is snoring! Luckily the earplugs are provided from the hotel and can be found in the room
The beds were comfortable and it was a quiet area
If you have a room on the first floor you might want to pack a small overnight bag. It is quite risky to try to haul a 20+kg big suitcase up these very steep and small stairs
Loved the natural hot springs spa which was open till late and then again before breakfast.
No comment on the accommodation as we did not stay there. This is a description of the restaurant
I absolutely loved my stay! It was beautiful and clean and the owner is so kind! It was 10 minutes away from Selfoss where I had some great meals. Thank you so much, I will definitely book again in the future.
We loved our stay at this unique property! The owner is full of life and personality and the setting of the property is gorgeous. It's charming and charismatic, we appreciated the hot tub after a long day
Cheerful and well-equipped shared kitchen with great coffee! The best part was the wonderful, welcoming hosts who cared about our experience and generously shared their home with us
Very beautiful guesthouse with all the amenities you need and clean. Only one washroom in the home to serve 3-4 rooms though, which can become a bit frustrating.
Very nice guest house. Super clean. Quite small for three people. Our recommendation is to add window screens to limit flies.
Shared but clean bathroom. Decent bedding. Quiet and surrounded by nature.
I arrived looking like a train wreck after a 9 hour flight and a few hours at the Blue Lagoon still way earlier than my check-in time (like 4 hours early) and the girl at the desk just wanted to help, no attempt to charge an extra day, nothing like that, she let me in my awesome room, asked if I needed anything and let me be
Staff on reception primarily Anna were amazing and extremely helpful, and really help us to enjoy our stay in iceland. Breakfast was a simple buffet style but for the price was ample
The room was clean and comfortable, perfect for two people. The breakfast was good and hotel staff was friendly and welcoming. I would recommend if you plan on renting a car
Our original room experienced a pluming issue on the 1st morning. We were moved straight away no problem
Thank you so much! You made my trip to Iceland comfortable and I look forward to staying here again
It is not as convenient when you depend on the public bus and excursion pickups for transportation
The shared kitchen area was a pleasant surprise, with an honesty bar that offered good value and plenty of stock. It made it easy to grab a drink or snack without needing to head back out
We rushed to arrive before then, only to find there was no reception and entry was simple regardless - so it would have been helpful if that was made clearer in advance
Nice place
Confusing email about check in but it was easily resolved. Great stay in a great town. Beautiful lake with walking trail
We stayed at this hotel during our trip around Iceland and found it to be a comfortable and convenient stop while travelling the island
Small but clean rooms. Private bathroom. Nice full kitchen and tables in basement to cook or store your food. Easy check in. Central location to walk around town.
The self-service check-in was straightforward, although the booking information mentioned a latest check-in time of 9pm
Great stop between Reykjavik & Akureyri for those that don’t want to do it in one day! We were the first to arrive for the evening so it was quiet and we weren’t sure they were actually open but once inside, it was super clean & cozy!! The location is perfect, just off the Ring Road and right near Hvitserkur & a beautiful black sand beach! The views from the hotel itself are 10/10 and the area is perfect...
Very good stay
We stayed at the Hvitsekur Hotel just overnight. Stuff was so nice, helpful and friendly. I will recomend this hotel for Round Trip in Iceland.
Lovely place. Incredibly quiet and isolated (in a good way). Great building - interesting history with original features. Very comfortable and friendly stay. Many thanks.
Breakfast was basic, however staff had other options to add upon request, (scramble some eggs etc)without extra cost as well which was nice!
a no frills basic hotel with shared bathrooms in a remote area of the Vatnses peninsula. good dirt road get you there
Very nice stay here, staff were super nice. We didnt have the evening meal, but they did offer several options
The staff and room were both lovely! Beds were very clean and comfortable, the bathroom was very clean and had a nicely heated rack for towels, etc. It was a lovely touch.
The shower and the kitchen in our building was maintained clean and functional. It somehow lacked details, as seen in other guesthouses over Iceland (towels to dry dishes etc)
It was a big room with 8 single beds og 2 toilets. the beds were wonderfull og the room was clean. The morning buffet had a very fine selection and diary free and glutenfree options
Overall the location was great for getting around on the coach and it was very nice hotel especially the hot tub which was an amazing experience however I imagine it be so much more magical if you get to see the northern lights in the hot tub which is not the hotels fault
Super amazing place! The atmosphere is wonderful, and the extra bonus is the cute furry friends 😍🐾. I absolutely loved it here — it’s cozy, and perfect for when you’re on the go. Thank you for such a lovely experience!
The cheapest and the coziest choice of all 4 hotels/hostels/guesthouses we have visited. Good choice to spend a night after the Golden Circle before heading to Vik.
If there was a 7🌟 option- THIS place deserves it! Thank you too all staff- ESPECIALLY Kathey- there was a mixup in our reservation with Expedia, we had been exploring for 15hrs after traveling for 8hrs and we had been up for 30ish+ hours
She gave us pur key, told us where to find the geothermal pools and said she would fix this issue and update us in the morning. We were exhausted and greatful
What a fantastic hotel. The rooms are clean and a great size. The staff are so polite and helpful. We loved the generous breakfast and the surroundings are stunning. We are so glad we opted to stay here.
The hotel noble. How much it is worth the money - it's hard to say, everything is relative. Like street warm bath room.
Good hotel. Great restaurant with good food and cocktails. Very welcoming waitress at the restaurant.
Nice hotel!
Their chef is one of the best hotel chefs in Iceland. Even though every hotel seems to have the same breakfast buffet. Here it was cooked properly and with love.
The room was spacious and clean, with excellent hygiene. The view from the window was beautiful, offering sights of the sunrise and numerous small volcanic craters. Check-in and parking were convenient
The front desk even asked if we'd like to be notified about the Northern Lights, which was a very thoughtful touch. That evening, I managed to capture many photos of the aurora
Great hotel, has everything that’s needed, great hospitality, facilities, staff, breakfast.
Everything was just on point.
The rooms were nice and spacious, but the blankets did have a few questionable stains
We heard there's a free hot spring, but we weren't aware of it and missed out
Best hotel we've been to in Iceland with very helpful staff who even wake you up at night if Northern lights are showing. only hotel so far with this service. Their home-brewed beer is also excellent
Very strong smell of chlorine when entered the room including chlorine smell on the towels
No cleaning services or bed sheet changing ( we stayed 2 nights ), the receptionist told us it's the policy and if we would like it changed we should go get the bed sheet/towels they provided by ourselves which was not mentioned when checked-in or when we booked
Everything was great, except for getting a bit lost initially trying to find my way with the elevator directions
Following an advance notification, the hotel upgraded our room and decorated it with "Happy Birthday" balloons and a complimentary bottle of non-alcoholic fizz—an incredibly generous and much-appreciated gesture that demonstrated top-tier customer care
The hotel room was clean and spacious, with enough room to open multiple suitcases. It included breakfast and complimentary hot drinks available at all times. There was also a dining area with utensils
The location is a bit far from the city center, but easily accessible by bus
Hveragerði is a perfect location for traveling around the scenic parts of Iceland, and the hotel is conveniently located next to a supermarket and a gas station. We will absolutely be back to The Greenhouse Hotel!
One of the best experiences on a trip. Beyond how breathtaking the country is, I had an amazing stay. All the hotel amenities were incredible, and we enjoyed food that we never expected to be so delicious
I especially want to highlight the service, Jorge, in particular, gave us great recommendations both within the hotel and about Iceland in general
He was extremely kind and helpful, providing excellent service and giving us great advice on the best activities in the surrounding area
Stayed here with my family during our Iceland vacation and we absolutely loved this stylish spot! We shared a family room and quarters were tight, but the beds were amazingly comfortable, the heated bathroom floors were a game changer and the decor was perfect
He is a wonderful person, very kind, and the treatment and attention he gave us were absolutely outstanding
This is a cosy place to stay with access to a nice town and some excellent walking. Also convenient for exploring the national park. Relax in the hot tub before going for a drink and dinner
There are two hot tubs, a heated pool, and robes and sandals in your room to wear to and from the tubs. Breakfast is included and delicious. The restaurant uses the geothermal activity to create some of their dishes
Loved our two night stay! The staff was very kind and helped us book tours, taxis, and with our luggage. The restaurant is lovely and delicious
The hotel restaurant was amazing, the meat I ordered was truly amazing and one of the best steaks I have had! So skip booking the room, just book something cheaper in Reykjavik, come here for the hike, warm river and the steak at the hotel restaurant
The best hotel found. Room with balcony points exactly at the northern lights. Great food steam cooked woth geothermal source at the restaurant. Very kind staff. Excellent.
The pillows very actually rather bad, very flat and in the morning I was very stiff in the neck. Selection at the breakfast was okay, but it is far from the best hotel breakfast, however we were totally fine with that
Very convenient - a short, flat walk from the airport. Rooms large, clean with great shower. Staff very helpful and professional. So much better than spending 10 hrs in the airport. Slept and well rested for next flight
Made all the difference to traveling!
I stayed here two nights prior to my flight to Spain. The hotel is very nice with very easy access to the Terminal building. The breakfast was very good and offering a variety of items to suit most tastes
The hotel staff were passionate to answer all questions that there was a 24 hour reception. It’s just a few minute drive to the airport. It’s really convenient for the travelers who take an early flight
I had lost my credit card and only had Euro upon check-in. They gave me a free breakfast voucher and shuttle back to the airport. The rooms are older as I believe it is a converted military barracks
We didn’t have time for breakfast but was buffet style and seemed fine. Staff were welcoming and helpful. A very good place to stay if you need to catch and early morning flight!
Fortunately, it was the only hotel/tourist accommodation on my trip to Iceland that had a human being at the reception desk. The room is modest and simple but has all the basics. Comfortable mattress and pillows
Camped for a day there, absolutely stunning place middle of mountains. Hot tub, toilets, showers everything was fantastic. Staff are super friendly, Raymond is fun to talk to, great service. Thanks guys!
It has a kitchen for cooking, a swimming pool and hot springs, and you can also barbecue!
It was a good one night stay for our journey North on our clockwise Route 1 journey. We did a late check-in close to 10pm and found the keys and a map (which could have been clearer) to find our room
We rented an amazing spacious 2 bedroom apartment at a reasonable price
We went from the Myvatn area to Straw Hat Mountain. We gave up the whale watching trip to Husavik, but the distance to Straw Hat Mountain was a bit long, so we chose this hotel as a transfer
