We arrived early in the morning and they accommodated us. Our room was very nice, but the water/drains do have a mild sulphur smell. I believe that might be normal due to the natural source of the water. We had a business class room with breakfast included. Breakfast was nice with a large selection of items. The location is good also, 15 minute walk from the city center.

Great stay at the hotel. Booked a room including breakfast.
The breakfast had lots of variety and choices and fresh produce, some of it local. The hotel staff was friendly and available for all request and questions. The rooms were good and spacious, a little bit noisy because of the door between the two hotel rooms. Located perfectly in the city nothing is ever further than a 20 minute walk anyway.

Fantastic accommodations. Very helpful staff and great room. We stayed here over the new year in room 457 which is a business class room. The room is spacious and quiet with comfortable beds. We had coffee, tea and complimentary chocolate. There is even robes and slippers in the closet.

The food in the restaurant was exquisite and the service was excellent. The food is not cheap but worth it. Be sure to book your room including breakfast. It's a bit more expensive but completely worth it. There are all kinds of things, both cold and warm for every taste.

One thing which needs a proper update is the wifi in the room. We basically had little to no connection in our room. Not that it mattered much for us, but I imagine it can be a problem for some.

The beds are comfortable but
1. I had a hard time finding my room
2. I could hear that my neighbours were doing some stuff through the door in my room
3. Breakfast didn't have much variety.

This is a fancy hotel but my stay could have been better

Great hotel. Wi-Fi reaches out to the Parking lot, the toilet is clean, the room did not happen?

The hotel was perfectly placed for what we wanted to do, the restaurant downstairs was exceptionally good, great food and friendly service. You could tell the room hadn’t seen any renovations in a long time, and there were what appeared to be dried bogeys on the side of our bed. Also, we had a double bed but with two single duvets - not sure if this is normal in Iceland but was certainly strange.

We were put in business class, which if we thought might be better but sadly wasn't. When talking to others in hotel they had bottles off water put in their rooms, again not in ours. Overall staff very friendly, welcoming, restaurant needs to catering for all needs ,would pay price if more choices. Room we was in when people used lifts we could hear them in our room. Water in room was very strong smell of rotten eggs.

+ The reception staff were extremely helpful, informative, friendly etc. We had a difficulty with tours picking us up from the hotel and the reception staff took it in their hands and contacted the tour companies on our behalf. They were top notch staff at this hotel!
- The room was clean but the hotel does show it's age (ie. paint peeling on the window sills). The building itself does need some TLC. The breakfast buffet is very expensive for what you get. Although there was variety in the buffet, it wasn't top quality (ie. frozen waffles rather than a freshly made waffle). I wish they have 24/7 room service but the restaurant closes at 10pm so if you're hungry after, you have to order pizza from the local Dominos.

+ The staff were very helpful and friendly. There's a bus stop right near the entrance and taxis can be called and will arrive in a few minutes.
- A bit tired looking (as we were warned) and very crowded public areas. Not very relaxing and also not close enough to the centre to avoid a 20 minute walk or transport unless you're a sprinter.
10.03.2019 Gillian
+ The hotel was located approximately 15 minute walk from centre however the advantage of this was that trips picked you up direct from the hotel. If you stay closer to the centre then you have to meet at a central bus stop, this could mean a wait of upto 30 minutes as most tours gave a window as to when they would pick you up. The breakfast buffet was plentiful with a good selection of both hot and cold items.
- Some of the areas could do with refurbishment, I understand that this is on going.

Fantastic food and the service is excellent!

Having come here in 2016 and returning this year, I'm once again amazed at the spotless experience.

Although the menu only lists around 4 courses in the tasting menu, those are only the main courses - more are in between each course, meaning it totals about 7 or 8 individual servings, ranging from finger food to full dishes. Each is unique, and will impress you deeply, even if you (much like me) aren't much into posh places.

Toilets are located in the hallway to the restaurant itself.

Their gin tonic is heavenly. They present a wide selection of gin and other liquors, enabling you to customize your drinks however you like, and as such, they're likely to accept custom requests of drinks, too. An Icelandic gin is also available!

Do note that the selection on the food menu is rather small, but they're all sure to fall within your liking. It changes from time to other. See the picture attached as an example from my most recent visit. Here you can also get an idea of the pricing here.

Service was pleasant and not over-the-top posh.

View is quite stunning, as it's located at the very top of the Radisson Blu Saga hotel.

Fantastic drinks and food accompanied by all-around pleasant service and a fantastic view at night to boot can only be summarized by a full 5 stars from my view. Do yourself a favor and ask for a gin tonic along the way as you eat here.

Great and elegant experience. Perfect for a good steak dinner. The restaurant is on the top floor of a hotel. High quality food and service.

This is the university cafeteria. It has a range of refreshments but if one does not have any appointments at the University it is not worth a visit.
28.07.2017 Erik
If you are at the national museum close to lunch then you should skip the museum cafe and instead go here. This is truly excellent food for a price that would be cheap even in the rest of Europe. You can only choose one main dish, but a drink is included. We had the chicken breast "dyon", with potatoes and a salad and a drink for 980 ISK, which is around 8 euros.
Highly recommended.
