It’s a perfect stop along the Ring Road for anyone looking to experience the natural beauty and hospitality of Iceland

Everything was good except the room size was too small for 2 persons.

After a long day of driving along the "big loop" , this was actually a nice spot to stop. Rooms were very small, as stated in other reviews. Bathroom was clean and did the job with the shower that was fairly large

Hotel Blonduos was a pleasant surprise. Hotel staff were attentive and happy to chat and assist. The apartment we stayed in was fabulous, and would be excellent for a few to several days

We’ve been around during COVID times and we’re the only guests that night! What shows above and beyond service is that the owner prepared breakfast buffet and fresh pancakes just for the two of us! Whenever you arrive, you can be sure that the owner and staff takes good care of you!

We were extremely lucky to be very early in the season and to have the whole place almost to ourselves. The room was very nice, clean and comfortable. Shower was super! Immediate hot water and strong flow

Just because we didn't pay attention to it when we booked. There is an awesome golf course! You can rent all equipment and it is a nice challenge. Time for me to stop writing and enjoy it one more day!

The hotel is located in an isolated position in the countryside near the village of hvosollur. There is a restaurant inside with prices in line with Iceland

In the morning there is an excellent breakfast buffet with sweet and savory. The room was clean and well heated. Great for those who love nature, you need a car to get there

we loved the location and the beds were some of the most comfortable we've had in any hotel.

Our room had a large desk, a comfy armchair, a beautiful bathroom, and a king-size bed. The heated timber floors were a nice touch. This hotel is designed for comfort, and I felt right at home as soon as I arrived

The hotel's location is neatly sandwiched between the old and new parts of the town. The hotel itself overlooks the water and is within easy walking distance of everything you could need

Definitely wouldn't recommend one of those small rooms if you are travelling with very large or multiple pieces of luggage. We has one medium sized suitcase which was a squeeze but fine

The breakfast room had plenty of space and choice and the bar was so lovely, with a great choice of drinks and really beautifully decorated. I would definitely recommend this hotel

My husband and I did a 1 hour tour here and had a great time as this was our first time ever riding a horse! The ride was very easy and the horses were super gentle

Spent a night here on our Ring Road trip around Iceland. Lovely family run farm that has a guest house for travelers as well as Icelandic horse riding tours

We did not have enough time to do a horse riding but they did let me photograph their beautiful horses, who were just as curious about me as I was them. Thank you for a wonderful memory

It was a nice change from staying at hotels and the first time we really got to have some conversations with the knowledgable people who actually live here

The property also has baby lambs, Arctic fox pup, chickens, and bunnies. Additionally it was no problem to take pictures of the other horses in the pasture after our ride

Part of visiting a country is also getting to know the people… but it is easy to be distracted by the amazing geography Iceland has

Good value for money! A really nice little hotel not far from the airport. Free parking right in front of the entrance. We got a room for disabled people. An elevator bed and a double bed.

The older gentleman staff member is outstanding and so sweet. I didn’t know what to expect with the breakfast but it was simple yet satisfying. Highly recommend the peppermint tea

If you're looking for a place to stay near the airport before your early morning flight, we highly recommend staying at this hotel. The rooms are clean, cozy, and well-maintained

Convenient location if you want to visit Blue Lagoon the same day you arrive, and leave your luggage's on the way. I'll definitely use this place next time in another trip

Additionally, there's a designated dining area equipped with a microwave, plates, cutlery, tea, coffee, and water, making it convenient for you to heat up your own food

I would suggest a bit more detoxification of the bottom shower curtains. Also very accommodating and in close proximity to the town as well as airport

Great stop between Reykjavik & Akureyri for those that don’t want to do it in one day! We were the first to arrive for the evening so it was quiet and we weren’t sure they were actually open but once inside, it was super clean & cozy!! The location is perfect, just off the Ring Road and right near Hvitserkur & a beautiful black sand beach! The views from the hotel itself are 10/10 and the area is perfect...

Very good stay We stayed at the Hvitsekur Hotel just overnight. Stuff was so nice, helpful and friendly. I will recomend this hotel for Round Trip in Iceland.

Breakfast was basic, however staff had other options to add upon request, (scramble some eggs etc)without extra cost as well which was nice!

a no frills basic hotel with shared bathrooms in a remote area of the Vatnses peninsula. good dirt road get you there

I had an issue with my reservation, and Joana was incredibly helpful in solving it. The guy at the reception was also extremely kind and welcoming

Great location, close to the Bund, just 100m from the metro, and near Yu Garden. The room was spacious and clean, and the staff were incredibly friendly. Breakfast offered a good variety of choices. Overall, excellent!

Easy access and check in , good breakfast

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The room was spotless, very comfortable, and had everything I needed. The location is perfect, only about 30 minutes from Jökulsárlón, which made it ideal for exploring the area

Very good place to recharge your body battery on the way. Great equipment in the kitchen, great quiet rooms and good shower. Warm and calm. Koffee machine is additional great addition. Option to make room dark.

Stayed in Oct 2024 Really lovely place, rooms were clean and cozy. Common area was well equipped with kitchen appliances and everything was spotless. Breakfast spread had a great variety

I was initially worried (after reading other reviews), and the place looked empty when we arrived, but I was surprised at how good this place is. Yes, it does have self check in, but many places in Iceland do this

The rooms were clean, the furniture is a bit older but who cares. We stayed here just for one night and it was a good choice on the way from Akureyri to West Fjords. So don't worry about other references

After reading the references here, I would like to add my experience. Self check-in works, breakfast is served. The WiFi works in the main building, there are cool chairs with beautiful view

We enjoyed our stay, this hotel is very clean and has a huge fully equipped common kitchen with refrigerator, electric stove and a coffee machine free for all hotel guests to use

Great location right near Hallgrimskirkja Church, easy walking distance to everything. I stayed the night before my ringroad tour and the night after and had a room on 3rd floor both times

Small kitchenette with microwave, kettle and fridge. Good single rooms for solo travellers at a decent price for Reykjavik. Decor is a little tired but I didn't really mind that

Ideal for a quick stop before traveling on. Ideal location right next to Hallgrimskirkja church. Easy walk or bus to down town, where loads of restraints

Lift doesn't work so if you have heavy bags maybe not the best choice. Can't comment on breakfast as I checked out early both days so missed it

Only 1 pillow which was very flat and toilet could do with a bit more of a clean. But generally very nice room

This Guesthouse completely changed our trip, and we purposely changed plans to be able to spend more time there. It was clean, very cozy, spacious, and had everything we could need in the kitchenette

Service was exceptional, and all around, the cabin was an excellent stay in all ways. I would highly recommend these guesthouses and campground to anyone staying near Selfoss or the Golden Circle

Nice campground right in town. Heated kitchen area with plenty of tables and a couple of hot plates and sinks. Three showers in an open area with shower curtains. Everything was clean.

This tiny cabin had everything you may need for the night (frying pan in good condition (better that few houses we stayed in:), pan, kettle, spatula, olive oil, even hair dryer)

The bedroom size is just perfect. The compact kitchen is super helpfull to do a good meal (you can find everything you need there: cutlery, pan, salt, oil, etc)

It has all I need, private bathroom, kitchen. There’s grocery stores nearby. And stuff is very nice and helpful!

We stayed one night in one of their cabins and it was perfect. The cabin was very cozy and in such a great location, just a 30 second walk to the beach. Would definitely stay here again

Charming guesthouse very close to the sea. We stayed in one of the cabins. It is small but super well organized. The bed was comfortable and the shower was big enough. Good coffee included. Friendly, helpful host.

My wife and I stayed in a private cabin at The Castle Guesthouse over Christmas and into early January, 2026 and we had a wonderful time

A very cozy little cabin; very warm, sheltered from the coastal wind, WC, shower and wash basin with cooking facilities in the main house. With parking next to the cabin - all made it perfect for a stop over

We had one of the self contained wooden units which also had access to the house for breakfast and use of the other facilities. It was warm, exceptionally clean and the breakfast was a great addition

One of the best places I have ever stayed at. Very nice staff and the nature in this area is spectacular. Don't forget to go on a horse ride, awesome guides, kind horses and beautiful landscape.

The kids went for a ride with the horses. Just perfect. The horses was handled with care. Great scenery, friendly personell. Recommend!

So let me start by saying, the decor was beautiful here. Very comfortable beds and nice and clean. However, if you are at all sensitive to sound while trying to sleep this is not the place

5 hours horse ride, the instructors were awesome! Got the chance to know the owner of the place as well!!! Highly recommended cause this place feels like family, not commercialized, best attention to the client I asked a million questions cause I was curious and all of them were answered!! Was my first riding horse experience and I couldn’t have dreamt of a better one! Well done! Keep up a great work

The rooms have hardly any isolation in the walls and I could hear the people in the room next to me even when they were whispering

The host was very kind and responsive however and if quiet is not something you require, I would recommend

We stopped here to get out of the weather, and what a great place. The hot tub was a great break. They also have their own thermal pool, horses and dogs and amazing views.

I chose the Hotel Leirubakki because it offered reasonably priced rooms, it is in a lovely out of the way location, and because they have horseback riding on site

The property was peaceful as we walked around visiting the horses and checking out the Viking hot pool. Breakfast was in a pleasant dining area and was a very nice, but typical, European continental breakfast

I was extremely anxious, thinking that the 2,000+ yen night would be spent in the car. 🌟Key point: Later, I found a white house in the back and tried it

Great little place. We rented 5 of 6 rooms and loved the whole huge family room. Staff was eonderful

Clean and comfortalvd We had a nice stay at Guesthouse Edinberg, room was clean, upstairs had refrigerator, kitchen with sink and stove top, comfortslve couches tables and chairs and an old galaxy game, no quarters needed

I got soaked in the rain; I didn't want others to suffer the same fate. My friend and I rented a car in Iceland and stayed for two nights. First night: We arrived at the hotel around 10 PM and couldn't contact the staff

There were several other people arriving that did not receive their access code which caused a lot of stress. There is no reception desk at this property and no one answers the phone number provided

We needed code to get into our room which was provided to us in the message section of our hotel app. The listing says it would be emailed to us but that is where I found it

This was not my first time at Hotel Djúpavík and I left completely satisfied. Even though I was the only guest in the hotel that night, or maybe because of that, I was perfectly taken care of in every way

But be warned: the roads are HORRIBLE and whilst no F-roads, you’ll feel sorry for your car and yourself. These roads are no fun during good conditions let alone fog, rain or at night

Although it’s not the easiest place to access, the journey is well worth it—once you arrive, the stunning scenery and remarkable architecture will leave you in awe

A warm, comfortable place to stay surrounded by stunning rugged beauty. The chocolate cake in particular was excellent. I wish I could have stayed much longer.

I love Djúpavík for many reasons. Its location and scenery, remoteness, uniqueness. The hotel is cosy and homey, rooms are simple and comfortable

You come here for the experience, the delish food and cakes, the unique scenery and access to a hidden world - with blazing fast internet

Clean towels are given out every day and wifi is also free. Sometimes the staff makes your bed too. Sink water tastes a little gross, so it's best that you buy water if you want to refill

Staff was extremely kind and helpful. Room was clean and included a sink, shampoo, and towels. Dorm style bathrooms and one shower

It's more affordable than any other hotel/hostal in the area and you can eat breakfast and dinner here. The breakfast doesn't really fill you up, but the dinner does a good job

Only thing we didn't like was the showers, on our floor both had very poor water pressure; one of the two was not draining well at all so you had to stop showering intermittently to keep the shower from flooding, and the other didn't have hot water until a good ten minutes in

Friendly helpful staff, average but clean rooms. Shared bathroom and shower were not the cleanest. Every door in the building slams into the frame/wall and sounds like falling boulders

Basic accommodations with good wifi and a comfy bed, close to Skógafoss. The room isn't too large, but we had no troubles with two big bags and two backpacks

This place was beautiful inside, VERY close to the water, and the people were unbelievably nice. We tried to book a room here but our app (that we apparently couldn't navigate) booked a room in a hotel a mile or so away

Such a beautiful guesthouse situated close to Keflavík airport. We had the pleasure of seeing the northern lights during our stay! Although we only stayed one night at Raven BnB, we felt at home

Quirky and comfortable Lovely old style Bed and Breakfast. Host was very friendly (ask to see photos of volcano eruption!). Great location for a quick trip. Shared bath(s) was a bit awkward but fine really

The beds are comfortable, wash closets are clean and spacious and the shared area is carefully curated by the owners. It is clear that so much love has gone into restoring and decorating this place

The room was comfortable with enough space for the four of us. The breakfast was very much appreciated before heading out to our adventure in Iceland!

arrived soaking wet and was happy about the warm shower and that the woman collecting the fees suggested to sleep in one of the unfinished huts instead of putting up my tent! this made everything much easier and it’s crazy how friendly she was

We enjoyed lunch at Dalakot, which included a chicken salad, two lamb dishes as well as a pizza, all reasonably priced compared to the rest of Iceland! The lamb was among the best we had in Iceland, and the other dishes also hit the mark

Clean showers (free to use), nice bathrooms and an outdoor sink for rinsing dishes. Also had a clean drinking water pump. Someone came around 8pm to each camper van and you were able to pay her with card or Apple Pay.

Super friendly staff checked us in efficiently. And the location was fantastic especially if you are looking to start the West Fjords or the Snaefellsjokull Peninsula. Would most definitely stay here again

We stayed here on our way to the west fjords. It was a quick overnight stay. We ate dinner at the hotel and the food was good. We took a nice walk around town in the evening and also in the morning

they are building 3 cozy warm huts on the camping for making it very attractive to spend nights there even in deep winter! In the warm lounge I could heat my food in the microwave

It is the way best place to stay and drink and the outside area is the best of the best in sauðárkrókur! I would recommend without a doubt!! And the people that run the bar are super nice! Outdooor area is well protected by the wind and is superb

Lovely house. Kitchen had basically everything. Owner dropped by to say quick hi. Was able to do laundry on our ring road trip. Area is also nice and beautiful around. Nice town and lovely bakery nearby

We popped in here for a few drinks after dinner and it was well worth it. The owner is sooo nice and helpful. Happy hour drinks from 8-9 were great value and lovely local craft beers on tap

Firstly the owner is soo lovely! She lets you try the beers before you order them. Happy hour from 8pm - 9pm it is 2 for 1 and the beers are 1300 so it’s a great deal

Stayed here tvo couples for tvo nights, this is very friendly and cosy place, very good beds, the hosts a very nice and helpful. Love this place.

It is a nice place but a little bit outside of walking distance from town. I really enjoyed the coffee from the complimentary espresso machine.

Quiet, tidy guesthouse. The kitchen was well stocked with a juice machine and coffee machine. Bed was comfy.

Solid stay, common areas are taken care of. People were respectful. Beautiful view

But the exterior feels like it is slowly turning into a junkyard - it was full of old/rusty vehicles/farm equipment, there was a rusty chimenea full of trash out front, and multiple trash bags were piled up under the stairs leading up to the guesthouse

Nice views but not fancy Guesthouse with nice views. Shared bathroom which were too busy in the mornngs. Also shared kitchen with 2 small fridges. It was okay, junky outside the bldg. Owners could be more available
