I’d give 4,5/5 but it won’t let me to half to I rounded up, truly incredible, amazing service, comfortable beds, incredible view, nice owner and really good food. We were supposed to leaf at 11 and the owner let us be an hour and a half more since we were going skiing. Really nice tv, first time I’ve been able to watch some tv in a hotel. We really enjoyed our stay. Beautiful views. Check-in time is firm. Owner does all duties (check-in, clean, breakfast, lawn care, etc.) Room was very clean! Serves a cold breakfast. Picked this hotel because of the location just outside of Akureyri. The host was very friendly and always happy to make recommendations. Staff was exceptionally helpful when our converter shorted the electricity in our room. Place has a nice vibe. Must be safe in the area since key was left on counter. Couple of nice bars nearby.

Short but nice stay. We just stayed one night as we had a layover. We look for a hotel close to the airport to reduce the cost of transport. This was about 10min from the airport but still cost $47cdn. There was no front desk staff but our paperwork and key we at the front desk waiting for us. We had a nice breakfast before we left back to the airport.

This was an easy, no frills spot to stay a night ahead of our flight out of Keflavik. Check in and check out we're all self-serve and easy.

This is a unique property. The full kitchen is available for travelers to use to cook their dinner. If we had known, we would have brought some food to cook. Booked a fly and drive in iceland and this was our hotel on the 25th of december. For some reason our booking agency canceled our reservation so we would not have a room on the first day of christmas. But the owner helped us anyway,and gave us a room! What a Chad! Rooms are decent,and the bathroom was great. Breakfast was also really good.

Basic rooms with an excellent shower and comfy beds. We missed dinner but believe it was excellent as well. Decent spread for breakfast. No cappuccino machine. But have coffee. Excellent stop over to the north. Special mention to Mario at the reception who made an extra effort and very hospitable. Will def stop over again, when we come next to iceland.

Lovely hotel on the Ring Road, which was extremely convenient. Room was spacious with a view of mountain in back and neighbor’s house (and greenhouse!). A shop with hand-made items is adjacent by a gas station, which was a fun stop. Breakfast had more options than most others that we experienced, and the elevator was also very convenient.

The rooms are a bit tired. That said, the bed was very comfortable, the breakfast was adequate, and the staff was friendly. Basic accommodations but for one night it was no problem.

The location was very convenient and the room was comfortable. The only reason I gave one star off for comfort is because our room was directly above the entry door and people hung out below, and it was a little loud at times other than that it was a wonderful experience with delicious food at the restaurant. We were looking for a cheaper option in the city. The hotel was adequate, but with the limited rooms there was no staff to support. Door “keys” are punch codes, which were not responsive, it took many attempts with the codes to get into our room each time. Easy drive to downtown tourist area.

It was like a DIY motel with no one on duty most of the day. You had to have a code to enter. I called ahead about early check in and was told it would depend on availability. However when we got there, no one was there and we couldn't use our code at the entrance until exactly 3:00. The breakfast was great.

The rooms are amazing, the beds are really comfortable and everything is very modern. We arrived late at night and were still able to check in so that removed a lot of the pressure for us on the road.

This was a gem in the region. We booked this last minute on our day in the Snæfellsnes peninsula and boy was it a good choice. They have both independent cottages ( more expensive) and shared accommodation, but the shared accomodation was way more than we expected. This was a unique stay, giving off a camping vibe. I was surprised there wasn't any staff on-site to greet us. Instead, they left the key in a common area for self check-in, and there's a number to call for assistance, so definitely have a phone plan with calls included. Staying at Aurora Igloo was one of the highlights of my trip to Iceland. Even in winter, the igloo was cozy and warm, with three heaters inside. I booked the igloo with private bathroom, which was spacious and well-equipped. Check-in was easy and the hosts responsive when contacted. I would definitely recommend stopping for a night here on your south coast adventure!

I spent one night here in January, luckily, we managed to catch the northern lights as the location is great to see the auroras. the igloos are very clean cosy and warm, and the toilet and shower facilities were very clean too. thoroughly enjoyed my night there, would deffo go back x

It was a bit pricey, but it was the most special accommodation of my life.

I don't know if we got lucky or not, but watching the northern lights dance all over the sky while sitting inside our warm clear igloo was incredible. Comfortable beds, easy check in. No complaints. Also id say if you can spend the extra money, they private shower igloo is well worth the cost. If you don't want to pay the extra its still plenty worth going to. Truly incredible experience.

This place is amazing! We spent one night in an igloo with shared bathrooms. The bathrooms were clean and nice, it was so great to have a coffee and tea after a freezing day. The bed heater was a great feature of the room, it was nice and cozy to see the northern lights from bed. Like a fairy tale :) Thank you!

Overall, it was a nice hotel. Breakfast was included and it was reasonably priced. It was a little far from Reykjavik, so it was a 10-minute drive away, which was great because we could see the Northern Lights. However, the room door wouldn't lock.

The hotel is located a long (but beautiful) drive down a gravel, pothole-ridden road but you truly feel away from it all out here. It’s not easy to find a hotel in Iceland, and I feel like you get what you pay for. This one is considered cheap. One thing this place didn't do well was the poor WiFi signal in the room I was in. Because the mobile signal was very poor, we had to rely on WiFi. But in the whole room, only the doorway can be connected. When needed, we had to sit at the door as shown in the photo to access the internet

The hotel was a self checkin and kind of creepy. Tile floors everywhere so it was quite noisy when ppl came and went. The place needs a facelift for sure. TV never worked. It was sufficient for 2 nights but no longer.

Loved the natural hot springs spa which was open till late and then again before breakfast.

We booked two rooms, one of which turned out to be a loft. Both were incredibly small. Not only was the loft room easy to bump your head on, but the bathroom sink was incredibly small and unusable, and the toilet flushed with a puff of water that was completely ineffective. For nearly 2,000 yuan a night, the room wasn't even as good as a 200 yuan room in China. I've never stayed in a hotel this bad...

A small country home style hotel. I enjoyed my stay there thanks to friendly staffs. The hotel has a small hot spring next to the reception. It is notable that the in-room shower is using hot spring water, which I liked.

Our original room experienced a pluming issue on the 1st morning. We were moved straight away no problem. Staff on reception primarily Anna were amazing and extremely helpful, and really help us to enjoy our stay in iceland. Breakfast was a simple buffet style but for the price was ample. We stayed in room 237 and the bathroom smelled like mildew / mold. I think it was coming from the sink. It made the whole room smell. I don’t think it’s healthy to breath in. Guesthouse located on the hillside above small harbour. Room had great views over the sea and mountains beyond. A short walk to Eyri the excellent local restaurant. We were diving from Styran dive centre on the unique geothermal chimney close by.

Overall, it was a good experience. The music playing in the restaurant was also very nice, which put me in a great mood! There were many horses outside the room, and the restaurant was also quite good; it was one of the more decent restaurants I've had in Iceland.
