We stayed one night at this hotel, the hotel is family run & is staffed. They have a hot tub & sauna available as well. The rooms are quiet, clean & cozy. Nothing super amazing about this hotel but decent. The views are pretty good from here as a river runs beside & they have a nice fountain out front. They didn't shovel the snow until much later in the day. Ample parking here for free.

Lovely staff. We really just needed a place to stay for the evening while traveling around the country. Location was easy to access for us.

Absolutely our favorite stay while in Iceland. This spot is about 10 minute outside of the main Hofn area and very affordable. Our self-check in was very easy and our room was easy to find. Our little double bed cabin was so precious and held perfectly fine against the winter wind and cold. Perfect location just outside Hofn. Very nice guesthouses with shared bathrooms. We stayed only for one night but we couldn't have asked for anything better. In line with prices in and around Hofn.

We arrived around 8 and they were very helpful with dining options outside of the hotel but we ended up eating there, which was an amazing choice! The service was excellent, the food was delicious. We spoke with a worker for almost an hour after the restaurant should have closed and got many suggestions on where to go on our trip and lots of information about Iceland. Wonderful stay!

We had two different kinds of rooms here. 1 two bedroom apt (at the top of the rainbow road) and 1 double bedroom onsite in the hotel. The hotel room was very cramped but fine for just sleeping. The 2 bedroom apt was huge and in a great location BUT it was super noisy on Saturday night (late) when people were going out/home. If that's not an issue for you, highly recommend. Great location! Only a block or so away from rainbow road and about a 5-10 min walk from the church or bus stop 8. Walk to BSI bus terminal is a little bit further (10-15 minutes), but not bad. Hotel Ódinsvé is ideally located in the city center, within easy walking distance of major attractions such as the cathedral, making it very convenient for tourists. Fabulous hotel! All the staff were very friendly and accommodating. Beautiful space for relaxing in the reception area, by day and by night. Great breakfast and fantastic location! The sea view rooms are a little dated but have beautiful panoramic views across the sea and the mountains whereas the newer rooms are much more modern and spacious - so choose what is most important to you. A lovely hotel, but improvements in storage would make it excellent. If 2 of you are staying in a double room for more than a couple of days the lack of storage is inconvenient. Breakfast is incredible, along with the service from the staff.

We stayed at Hotel Akureyri and overall had a really positive experience. It is a really nice hotel with a great ambience throughout, and the staff were genuinely friendly and helpful. Stayed one night at Hotel Vik on a recent trip to Iceland. The people at the front desk were very welcoming and helpful. The hotel is pretty and clean and a great choice if you are heading out to Vik or the surrounding area. The room was very spacious with huge windows that I loved. The standard rooms are small, and our shower had a curtain, so water ran all over the bathroom. It's fine for one night, but if you're traveling with a group, I recommend staying in the nearby suites at the same hotel. The breakfast is very good; they even have watermelon, and that's in winter.

The hotel is located on a plate Space you can’t see anything surround you even the small town. So you have to carry your own food here and you can cook by yourself. All around you is the dark sky for endless, and you can use the hot pot and the sunna room for a rest. They don’t offer breakfast, but they will offer you free coffee and milk and biscuits.

I booked the wrong room initially, but the hotel changed it readily via email, and the service was excellent. They even have a shared hot tub and sauna! 👍 You can cook in the village house, but it's not as spacious as a guesthouse. The breakfast selection was very extensive!

The room was average. The bathroom was shabby. It was inconvenient to carry luggage up and down. Fortunately, the waiter was very friendly and helped me solve the problem.

Place is clean and decent. For me and my husband, the bed was too soft and the pillows also too thin. Breakfast was basic but that's on.

This is a self-service hotel, so there's no front desk. However, the facilities are brand new, and the room isn't small. It even has its own parking garage, which makes for a very comfortable stay. The location isn't in the city center, but it's not far either – about a seven or eight-minute drive. Getting around is super convenient, as there's a bus stop right downstairs. Definitely recommended.

This is a self-check-in hotel. The breakfast is simple but filling, and the environment is quite nice. There's a parking lot, but you need a code to enter.

Location a slightly away from city centre however it’s convenient with car. Car park is available at basement with limited space. Breakfast was ok overall. The waffle and jam is delicious. Self check in but we didn’t encounter any issue during our late check in around 10pm.

Poor value for money We arrived for check in and given a very comfortable, clean but basic room. Parking was just outside. Only a minor downside, as you will be aware hotels are not good value for money in Iceland, but all the TVs were being upgraded so the current ones didn’t work. For £243 per night for a travel lodge type room, everything should be working. The staff member tried to turn it on...

Great location, free parking, friendly staff. Breakfast was excellent- lots of choices and everything fresh. The room was very clean, perfect size with bay views. A classically modern hotel. The rooms do feel a little tight but enough to move around. The staff is very accommodating and easy to work with. Hotel itself is on a strange one way that Google Maps has a hard time directing to. Visited here in mid February so it was quiet and lots nearby to walk to. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable. It's well located close to bus stop 2 for drop off from the bus terminal, but also very walkable as well. It's also centrally located to the main shopping area with plenty of restaurants nearby. I highly recommend this Apotek hotel and would stay here for future visits.

The front staff were friendly and always available. The room and all bedding were clean. The bathrooms were of a public restroom style and the showers were in a locker room style. The kitchen area was a bit cramped for countertop space with no place to store non-refrigerated foods. The refrigerator was packed full and was hard to find room for my items. A good hostel/hotel. The students stayed in dorms which served the purpose and were clean with shared showers. Staff had comfortable rooms on the same floor or better rooms in the hotel above. Was a little crowded at one point as they had three big groups in, but they managed the breakfast sittings well. Good food in the packed lunches and for dinner was very good.

Great location, within walking distance to the church, and they have their own free parking. The room was small, the bedding wasn't very clean, and there were no power outlets by the bed, only USB ports, which was inconvenient.

This is an old school hotel full of charm. We had junior suite. The room was a bit old but really beautiful. The rooms have physical keys rather than cards to show how old. The location is close to most of the good sights. Lastly our 4th floor room had a great view of the city.

The newest hotel on our Iceland adventure, it opened in July 2025. You walk in and can smell how new it is... very modern facilities, spacious rooms, a comfortable bed, Smart TV, and a very complete breakfast. I highly recommend it!

Very close to the airport terminal. Breakfast starts from 4am. It is very easy to catch early flight. Bottom of shower screen is not sealed, water can run into basin and toilet area.

Nice hotel located just opposite to the airport, good choice for guests that have an early morning flight as the airport check in and security check might take a while in peak seasons. Room lacked heating. Double bed was two single mattress pushed together with uncomfortable gap between and no mattress topper. Food was ok. Only reason to stay here is the 2 minute walk to airport for the 0600 flight. Check-in and checkouts was easy

A friend and I stayed here so we could attend a festival in Siglufjörður and during our stay we had to complete some remote work as well. We were welcomed by two lovely ladies at the reception who made sure that we were in need of nothing! We made good use of all the common areas and had the coffee making machine work overtime! This is a unique property. The full kitchen is available for travelers to use to cook their dinner. If we had known, we would have brought some food to cook. Lovely hotel on the Ring Road, which was extremely convenient. Room was spacious with a view of mountain in back and neighbor’s house (and greenhouse!). A shop with hand-made items is adjacent by a gas station, which was a fun stop. Breakfast had more options than most others that we experienced, and the elevator was also very convenient.

The rooms are a bit tired. That said, the bed was very comfortable, the breakfast was adequate, and the staff was friendly. Basic accommodations but for one night it was no problem.

We enjoyed our one night stay in June. Yes the place looks a bit older, but we were very happy and comfortable. Staff was excellent and friendly. Breakfast was good. The location was very convenient and the room was comfortable. The only reason I gave one star off for comfort is because our room was directly above the entry door and people hung out below, and it was a little loud at times other than that it was a wonderful experience with delicious food at the restaurant. It’s really cozy and they have their restaurant. The room is so clean and cozy. They also have sheep’s goats and Icelandic horse that you can visit.

Check-in was at the restaurant counter, and check-in times are the same as the restaurant's operating hours. The automated email stated a shorter check-in window, but I called and confirmed that you can check in anytime before the restaurant closes.
