Very expensive in the restaurant. Food was okay but we were charged £60 more than expected, so bread and water must not be free here. Make sure to check your bill. That was our mistake. Great views of the northern lights 👌
One of the best hotel in iceland. Though room is not as new but clean. Got to see northern night outside hotel
Great location on a hill, so you have the perfect view for the northernlights. Nice spaceous room and bathroom, comfortable bed, very clean. Friendly staff. Northernlights were visible from the hotelroomwindow which was great. Food in their restaurant is (as everywhere in Iceland) expensive but very delicious. They have happy hour at the bar with also a nice view. Would go back there without hesitation
I’m rating this as the best hotel we stayed at in Iceland during our 12-day trip (and just to note — we weren’t on a five-star journey!). The room was spacious, clean, comfortable, and beautifully designed, with all the necessities provided. The breakfast was great too, with plenty of variety to choose from. But what truly made our stay unforgettable was the exceptional service — especially the Aurora...
Beautiful hotel located near Myvatn. The staff was really friendly and helpful. We signed in for a aurora wake up knock and because of that we saw a few aurora. Good breakfast and dinner. We had a lake view room and it was beautiful to wake up with the sunrise and the lake in sight.
All amenities are clean and tidy. Heartwarming services like knocking door while northern lights appear, booking a lovely dinner. It's high possibility to witness aurora with good weather conditions as no light pollution here. However there are still kinda pity that no fridge inside the room. It's probably not really required because there's also hard to find supermarkets nearby, neither the laundry...

Superb hotel! Very stylish, clean and comfortable place to stay. The location is spot on for exploring the city and close to bus stop 6 (if you're booking tours). Rooms were very comfortable, with everything you need and although small we had absolutely no issues with this. Breakfast was very nice, with plenty to choose from. We also ate in the bar one night, chose the burger, which was one of the...
An absolutely amazing hotel. We loved everything about it. The rooms were well stocked. Coffee machines. Bathrooms clean. Beds and pillows were comfortable. There was a fridge and safe. Great location from all the Reykjavík sites. Breakfast was amazing.
This hotel is in a wonderful location and within walking distance to many cafes, restaurants, and shops. The breakfast is very diverse and offers a multitude of options for whatever you may desire. The staff was very nice and accommodating for the most part. My only grievance is when we first checked in, we had an issue with the sheets not being clean. When I checked in, I was given an upgraded...
Excellent location. Boutique hotel vibe. Great options for buffet breakfast (included). Rooms are small but there are plenty of open communal spaces throughout the hotel. You can borrow a portable record player and records for your room if you like. Great option to grab-and-go food across from reception area. Help yourself honour system in place - let the reception know what you pick out to add to...

Nice experience. I booked Fosshotel Raudara and Lind for my trip this time. For the same company Fosshotel I experienced two distinct service. This Raudara is a nice one! Thumb up for them. Triple room right at the end of the corridor of the top floor. Very quiet and spacious room. Clean facilities. Excellent location, within walking distance to town and the church. Free on street parking near hotel.
I stayed two nights and accommodations, were both affordable and immaculate. The staff were absolutely amazing. They help you with anything from postcards you need sent out to questions about the city and the best places to eat. The location is also amazing. There was no need to rent a car to see the city. The smiles of the staff at the counter and restaurant were genuine and lovely, a rare sight in Iceland. Although the hotel was old, it was clean and quiet at night. However, most people in Iceland travel independently, and no matter which hotel you stay in at different times, you'll always hear the sound of someone opening and closing the door (for late-night flights, people chasing the Northern Lights...

Love this!!!! It’s awesome, the guys there are kind and passionate.
We had two different kinds of rooms here. 1 two bedroom apt (at the top of the rainbow road) and 1 double bedroom onsite in the hotel. The hotel room was very cramped but fine for just sleeping. The 2 bedroom apt was huge and in a great location BUT it was super noisy on Saturday night (late) when people were going out/home. If that's not an issue for you, highly recommend. If it is, ask for a room...
Great location! Only a block or so away from rainbow road and about a 5-10 min walk from the church or bus stop 8. Walk to BSI bus terminal is a little bit further (10-15 minutes), but not bad. The rooms have so many outlets which was greatly appreciated. Very friendly staff and breakfast was good.
Very accessible and centrally located. Near restaurants, places of interest. I will recommend.
Location was great, it was walking distance to most places. There was a really nice bar just opposite. Service staff were helpful and pleasant. The room I stayed in was quite small. I did not quite like the layout of the room. The TV was in an odd location too. The lighting in the room could be improved. There were stains on the toilet mirror, felt that these should be changed as it gives the impression...
Hotel Ódinsvé is ideally located in the city center, within easy walking distance of major attractions such as the cathedral, making it very convenient for tourists. The on-site restaurant offers delicious meals and is worth a try. However, since Iceland has 20 hours of sunshine in summer and the room's light-shielding effect is slightly insufficient, it may affect sleep quality. If you stay in the...

This was our second time staying at Hótel Húsafell. Both times have been amazing. The staff is all very friendly. The restaurant meals were delicious. The room and hotel is comfortable and cozy. The hotel can coordinate several great excursions. We did the lava cave tour and the cannon baths; both were great. They provide a Northern Lights wake-up call, which helped us catch the lights.
What an incredible stay! I was traveling with my grandmother and they went above and beyond to provide exceptional service. We saw the auroa borealis and had an incredible meal. Having hot baths on site is so so nice. The service is so great here and it is the people that make it special. THANK YOU!
My family stayed here for 2 nights and we had a great time. Food was fantastic, staff was very accommodating, 2 minute walk to the activity center. The pools were very relaxing. I highly suggest staying here!!
Pleasant check in staff, food in restaurant was one of the best we had in iceland. Bed was amazing and room was clean. Love the idea that they promote sustainability and support local icelandic business owners. Would definitely revisit.
Hotel Husafell is a beautiful place to get away and enjoy the idyllic Iceland countryside. Lovely paths to walk on, gorgeous views, thermal heated pools, and an awesome happy hour and restaurant. The food was outstanding. The staff at the Husafell Hotel were also most helpful and kind. Maybe on my next visit there, I will be able to see the northern lights!
Stayed one night at the Hotel Husafell. It is a pretty little place about 90 minutes outside Reykjavik. Our room was clean and covered all the basics. Liked that it had a functioning window and door to step outside - that came in handy for the Northern Lights viewing (they ring you in the night if the lights are visible)! This was the best hotel We stayed at. Newer modern tasteful finish in a pretty little town. Generally quiet. We did hear the odd bit of road traffic. Our room was on the street side. Breakfast was full and also the best we had on our...
The rooms were clean and the location was nice, but the rooms were a little dated looking. For the price I wasn’t too impressed with the quality of the rooms, and I thought breakfast was lackluster. Comparable to a low end hotel breakfast in the USA. Though there weren’t any big issues with the hotel, I probably would not stay there or recommend it.
This was my favorite hotel that we stayed in on out Icelnad ring road trip. So good that we started and finished here. The check in was great. The Hotel staff were polite and accommodating. The breakfast is killer here. The buffet alone for breakfast is worth staying. The rooms were clean and quiet. You are downtown Selfoss, so many food and drink option within walking distance. Ill be staying here...
A good & nice hotel in town. Great location. Just beside the river, with great view. Near to restaurants and major attractions. Highly recommended.
Clean and nicely located hotel. Convenient to move to next travel destination and sightseeing places. Overall satisfied.

Reykjavik, Grensásvegur 18, Haaleiti 🧭 Map
This is a self-service hotel, so there's no front desk. However, the facilities are brand new, and the room isn't small. It even has its own parking garage, which makes for a very comfortable stay. The location isn't in the city center, but it's not far either – about a seven or eight-minute drive. Getting around is super convenient, as there's a bus stop right downstairs. Definitely recommended.
This is a self-check-in hotel. The breakfast is simple but filling, and the environment is quite nice. There's a parking lot, but you need a code to enter.
The breakfast was very impressive!
The room was clean and cozy, and there's a supermarket conveniently located near the hotel. The indoor parking was a huge plus, making parking very easy. The breakfast had a great variety, and the hotel staff were very friendly.
Location a slightly away from city centre however it’s convenient with car. Car park is available at basement with limited space. Breakfast was ok overall. The waffle and jam is delicious. Self check in but we didn’t encounter any issue during our late check in around 10pm.
Self service in everything , good location and worth it for the price you paid .

Reykjavik, Austurstraeti 16 🧭 Map
A classically modern hotel. The rooms do feel a little tight but enough to move around. The staff is very accommodating and easy to work with. Hotel itself is on a strange one way that Google Maps has a hard time directing to. Visited here in mid February so it was quiet and lots nearby to walk to. There are a lot of nearby bars and restaurants so I could see this being a popular spot.
Staff was wonderful. Helped us book fly us to airport and held our bags for us. Room was amazing! I would def stay here again if I return to Iceland. Close to everything downtown and the restaurant was so good. We had dinner and breakfast there!
The Apotek Restaurant has a great breakfast menu. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Staff Service is excellent.
The staff was attentive and the hotel was clean as was the room and bathroom. It is at a great location within walking distance from bus stops and shopping and some of the important sightseeing locations. The breakfast spread is really good and the hotel’s restaurant food is simply amazing. The reason I can’t give a 5 because the room itself was small though, we had a double twin-bed room, there...
The rooms are beautiful and comfortable. It's well located close to bus stop 2 for drop off from the bus terminal, but also very walkable as well. It's also centrally located to the main shopping area with plenty of restaurants nearby. I highly recommend this Apotek hotel and would stay here for future visits.
The staff was great, rooms are very small and the hotel charges 50 euros for early check in. Breakfast is ok, not great.

Good location, healthy breakfast and the male receptionist was very helpful
This stay was, to put it mildly, a bug-infested lesson. I stayed for 4 nights. The first two nights were fine, but on the third night, things went south – I started getting bitten by bugs in the room, resulting in red spots all over my body. This wasn't just me being sensitive; these were clearly visible bites that required photographic evidence (which I did take, of both the spots and the bugs)....
We had a pleasant stay overall. The check-in staff were extremely friendly, warm, and helpful, making a great first impression. The hotel is centrally located, which made getting around very convenient. Parking is available at the back of the hotel on a first-come, first-served basis, and we were fortunate to secure a spot. Breakfast offered a good selection and was enjoyable. The main drawback was...
Overall, it's still pretty good. The location is better than Station 12, but Station 12 is definitely more convenient since most pickups and drop-offs happen there.
The room was clean, the bathroom was spacious, and the bedding was comfortable. Definitely book a room with a balcony so you can see the snow-capped mountains. The hotel's location is superb (city center), right next to a supermarket, and you can walk to famous city attractions in 10 minutes.
The hotel is nice, especially the bar which you can watch football.

Really nice hotel, the sauna was perfect and the room cozy and clean.
The staff called us at night to tell us there’s a vivid display of Northern Lights outside! Very appreciative of that notice. Rooms are modern and clean.
My stay at the hotel was outstanding from start to finish. The staff were incredibly friendly, professional, and always happy to help. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and everything was very well organized. It’s clear that great care is taken to provide high-quality service. I left feeling very satisfied and would happily recommend this hotel to others, I would definitely stay here again.
The decor, facilities, and towels were rather old, but the room was fairly large and the breakfast was quite plentiful. After checking in, while I was taking a shower, the receptionist knocked loudly on the door. Thinking it was an emergency, I quickly came out of the bathroom to open it. While saying that cooking wasn't allowed in the hotel rooms, she rudely peeked inside to make sure we hadn't cooked...
We had a great stay in the hotel. Rooms are good size, comfortable for 1 night. We’ve got upgrade to room with the golf course view. Thanks 🙏🏻 Super tasty dinner, price of course like everywhere in Iceland 😉 Breakfast not big, but good enough And we’ve seen Aurora just above hotel. Absolutely amazing experience. The front staff were friendly and always available. The room and all bedding were clean. The bathrooms were of a public restroom style and the showers were in a locker room style. The kitchen area was a bit cramped for countertop space with no place to store non-refrigerated foods. The refrigerator was packed full and was hard to find room for my items. The location and price were great.
A good hostel/hotel. The students stayed in dorms which served the purpose and were clean with shared showers. Staff had comfortable rooms on the same floor or better rooms in the hotel above. Was a little crowded at one point as they had three big groups in, but they managed the breakfast sittings well. Good food in the packed lunches and for dinner was very good.
Very clean, pleasant accommodations. Staff was friendly, and helpful if you needed any sort of assistance. Great place to stay, walking distance to most shops and bars with one inside of the Hostel itself. I would definitely stay there again, but would probably inquire into getting a private room.
The location is really great - walking distance to the city center, but also one of the main stops for any tours/excursions that include ground transportation. Beds were clean and comfy though the photos online make the (hostel) rooms look a bit more luxury than they actually are. The bathrooms (specifically the showers) were not great - tiny shower stalls with vinyl curtains that you have to try not...
The lobby, bar, bistro and lounge areas are wonderful. But the rooms, kitchens, bathrooms are yucky. At least four outlets in the 12 bed room didn't work. At least two of the bed lamps didn't work. The hotel sits on a street corner, with easy access to the city centre and a nice view of the harbour. Clean and warm, with enjoyable breakfast. The sauna and relaxation areas are not huge, but offer a nice opportunity to unwind after a long day out in the cold weather. The staff are friendly and happy to help with eating suggestions and deals available. I would definitely go back in the future.
Hotel is in a great location (close to bus stop 5 which you'll get why knowing bus stop numbers is ideal as this is where you wait for yours to pick up or bus to the airport). Breakfast is good and close to harbour means nice views. Just come with an idea of spending more than you think as that is how Iceland is! Blue Lagoon is a must...!
The room facilities are complete and the space is quite large. It's very close to the pier, making it a great choice if you're planning a whale-watching trip. The hotel's hygiene is good, and it's super close to Boss Zhu's restaurant, highly recommended!
The location is excellent, within walking distance to the city's popular attractions, restaurants, cafes, etc. The room is relatively small, but comfortable. The bathroom is relatively small, especially the wash basin. The so-called buffet breakfast is not bad, but there is not much choice of food. The hotel service and staff are very friendly and helpful.

Fantastic hotel in the heart of Reykjavik, full of Icelandic character. The room was spotlessly clean, and breakfast was delicious! We will definitely be back when we next visit Iceland 🇮🇸
Great location, close to lots of restaurants and most of the main tourist sights - but on a reasonably quiet road so you feel out of the city centre. Very good service and helpful staff. Great choice of food for breakfast. Would thoroughly recommend!
Great location, within walking distance to the church, and they have their own free parking. The room was small, the bedding wasn't very clean, and there were no power outlets by the bed, only USB ports, which was inconvenient.
This is an old school hotel full of charm. We had junior suite. The room was a bit old but really beautiful. The rooms have physical keys rather than cards to show how old. The location is close to most of the good sights. Lastly our 4th floor room had a great view of the city.

The beds are comfortable but 1. I had a hard time finding my room 2. I could hear that my neighbours were doing some stuff through the door in my room 3. Breakfast didn't have much variety. This is a fancy hotel but my stay could have been better
Great stay at the hotel. Booked a room including breakfast. The breakfast had lots of variety and choices and fresh produce, some of it local. The hotel staff was friendly and available for all request and questions. The rooms were good and spacious, a little bit noisy because of the door between the two hotel rooms. Located perfectly in the city nothing is ever further than a 20 minute walk anyway
The hotel was perfectly placed for what we wanted to do, the restaurant downstairs was exceptionally good, great food and friendly service. You could tell the room hadn’t seen any renovations in a long time, and there were what appeared to be dried bogeys on the side of our bed. Also, we had a double bed but with two single duvets - not sure if this is normal in Iceland but was certainly strange.
The rooms have good view of their snow-capped mountains. For now it takes longer though to move from the rooms to the ground floor since the hotel is presently undergoing renovation. Their Grilled restaurant on the top floor has 180 degrees view of the city. It serves good food & wine.
The refurbished rooms are nice and comfy with good beds. The old rooms not so good. Once the hotel is finished refurbishment it will be great. Only about 10min walk from town.

I think the hotel is a bit old with no dry and wet separation, but good location and nice staff there.
Well located and only a short walk to the city centre-old town. Bathrooms/shower is too small for use. Beds are comfortable. limited services offered at the accomodation.
The hotel is within walking distance of the pedestrian street. There are parking spaces next to the hotel. It's a typical three-star hotel.
The hotel has a great location, close to the surrounding area, including supermarkets, and there's a shuttle bus nearby.
In Iceland, where hotel prices are extremely high, this is a decent place to stay. The location is good, the room is small but clean, and the heating is sufficient. However, the hotel door closes after 11 pm and is opened after guests ring a bell, but the front desk staff were asleep, which wasn't good for making guests wait outside in the cold for a long time.

Very close to the airport terminal. Breakfast starts from 4am. It is very easy to catch early flight. Bottom of shower screen is not sealed, water can run into basin and toilet area.
The hotel is just a 5-minute walk from the KEF Airport of Iceland and offers breakfast from 4:00 am, which is a great convenience for travellers catching early flights. The room was spacious and clean. A pleasant stay there!
Only 5 min walk from Airport. But if it rain, the walkway becomes very wet. So it s so hard to darg our luguages.
Nice hotel located just opposite to the airport, good choice for guests that have an early morning flight as the airport check in and security check might take a while in peak seasons. The room is big and comfortable. Food in the restaurant is fresh and delicious, reasonable price in Iceland and also great services and extra long opening hours for flight guests.
Room lacked heating. Double bed was two single mattress pushed together with uncomfortable gap between and no mattress topper. Food was ok. Only reason to stay here is the 2 minute walk to airport for the 0600 flight. Check-in and checkouts was easy
Pros: Close to the airport! Only a 4-minute walk. There's a hot water kettle. Cons: The bed is small, and the duvet is thin and short (Are all Scandinavians that short?) – it doesn't even cover my feet. If you're sensitive to smells, definitely don't stay here. The sulfur smell is overwhelming; it woke me up twice in the middle of the night. The water also has a strong sulfur smell. Writing this review reminds me of that stench, and it makes me shudder.
The hotel is conveniently located near the Golden Circle attractions and a park. Nearby, you can witness geothermal steam rising from the ground.

Good stay overall with a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. The restaurant on Level 1 was also a great bonus—convenient and enjoyable.
