Great location, simple, clean room. Walls are a little thin, could hear other doors being opened and closed. There was some space along the street to drop off luggages, hotel recommended a couple of nearby parking garages which were all walkable even in the insane wind. Close to many great restaurants, convenience stores etc.

The location is perfectly situated downtown, the room was well appointed and confortable. The art deco aesthetic is everything! Very hospitable staff, I would definitely come back on my next trip out here.

Our room was clean and well organized, and the bed was very comfortable. It was easy to regulate the heat/cold by simply adjusting the radiators and/or opening the windows. This is my second time visiting Fosshótel Mývatn and I could not recommend it more. Services, food and drinks are all top notch. The rooms are immaculate. There is an incredible sauna on the third floor that you can access until 10pm and the happy hour deals at the hotel bar are an excellent deal.

The hotel is very nicely located next to Lake Mytvan and can see the sunset and sunrise from the dining room as well as the room. it was very nice overall. the shower had a great water pressure, the shower booth was very roomy and it had a swing door that helped from the water going everywhere. the bathroom itself was big and very clean. i got daily bottled water which was nice, and the tab water tasted great too. there was no view from my room window, because it was facing inside the building. i could see the other rooms’ windows...

This was one of the better hotels I stayed at during my trip to Iceland. The environment was clean and tidy, and the room was quite spacious. The female front desk staff's attitude towards Asians was a bit indifferent, while the male staff was very enthusiastic; the difference in attitude was quite noticeable. There was free water in the room.

Nice clean hotel, staff were very friendly and welcoming. The location is great, minutes from shops, bars and restaurants but still very quiet. Plenty of bus stops close by too. The room was great, deluxe double with balcony. We managed to sit out there every night and see the aurora borealis which was incredible.

We had a great stay at Stracta - the chalet style rooms were not a surprise as we looked through all photos on booking before choosing to stay. The only negative I can say is that the shower was really tight, the two doors don’t really work well. Highly recommend! We stayed in one of the rooms with the private hot tubs. The room was very spacious and well laid out. The rooms were very clean and so was the hotel. The only thing was the shower is the room wasn’t working at its best, only the one showerhead was working. The food was good. In the area there isn’t a lot so you have to drive. Spent 2 nights in Stracta hotel during summer. We were given a room in the outdoor without shelter, so it was quite a hassle when it rained. Otherwise the room was pretty standard size, squeezy for 3 people, would be fine for 2. Didn't manage to try the hot tub as it was full with patrons. Do not forget the complimentary drinks, Cheers!

Stayed 1 night in well located spot very near petrol station, supermarkets and even a 4.8 score restaurant for dinner. Rooms are clean, comfortable and fairly big size. Reception staff was extremely responsive when he spotted us having difficulty opening the main door fighting with strong gusty winds.

Great hotel, the staff super friendly and service is amazing. Just a little nitpick is the placement of the TV position is a little odd. But the room is super spacious and with a little balcony that faces the seaside which makes winter night viewing in Iceland just on another level entierly.

The hotel has a good location and is convenient to reach by car. However, I was quite disappointed with the room assignment: as a regular guest arriving around 3 p.m., I was placed in an accessible room without being asked for my consent or informed in advance. This is not professional, and I believe guests deserve proper communication and the option to choose their room type.

Staff were friendly and location is just right in the middle of the city centre. However, there is only one microwave, one kettle and one fridge shared among all people so there might be some waiting time when making food. There is also no stove for cooking, so you can only microwave stuff to eat.

Perfect location, where you can see the aurora all around the mountains. The room temperature is perfect and you can adjust it besides the window . They have a perfect balcony, which you can go straight outside and put your tripod on the grass and take pictures freely. There is no light influence at night so I can directly see the dark sky

I was a bit skeptical stopping at this hotel in the middle of nowhere on a gravel road, but this hotel was wonderful!! We loved our stay at Hotel Ranga. Truly a small luxury hotel. Nice comfortable rooms, great serene locations. We loved the observatory for star gazing and also saw a bit of northern lights. Nice hotel but for a night I would stay in other hotels that where better and less expensive
