Best hotel Ive stayed in so far in Iceland. I've been to 6 hotels so far. The room and bathroom was a good size. The bathroom I had was themed a bit like a volcano. Plenty of electric plugs in the room, a TV. Breakfast was the best selection I've had so far. This hotel has an elevator which was great to not carry bags up. All great things on this hotel. Staff in the restaurant was not too helpful....

We stayed here overnight as part of 8 day Troll tours. Hotel is in the middle of nowhere with no other shops, restaurants around Rooms are nice sized with big windows, comfortable beds and clean. Bathroom was reasonable except for no shower door. There is a hotel restaurant with limited menu and average service. Food was good though.

The hotel has a great location and the service was excellent. It was a huge plus that we could check in as early as 11 AM on the day of arrival if a room was available. The only minor downside was that the facilities felt a bit dated.

Location excellent. The desk lady was a lottle abrupt and welcome was not so warm. I tried to engage in conversation but it was very transactional and cold. Room was nice and very clean. The breakfast was basic but ok for free. Charged for coffee.

I had a wonderful night’s stay at Langaholt Hotel. The staff was exceptional—friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The hotel itself is spotless and comfortable, with a relaxing atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. The food was amazing, served buffet-style with a perfect mix of local Icelandic dishes and international favorites. Do yourself a favor and stay here—you won’t regret it

The wonders of Iceland. Had a great stay here - arrived late on a wet and windy night but the room soon warmed up and was nice and toasty. Lovely breakfast. Unfortunately I managed to leave my driving licence there but the wonderful Sumna got in contact after we had left and drove it personally to another hotel / going out of her way by some distance. The location is very good, and they have a restaurant, so guests who arrive late can have dinner there.

Breakfast was delicious! If you're too lazy to go into town in the evening, the hotel's paid buffet is also quite good. Both the taste and value for money are excellent! I even saw the Northern Lights when I went down for breakfast in the morning!

Decent place overall. Hotel was located alongside the main road and easily accessible. Check in process was relatively smooth. Room was visibly clean, beds were comfortable and blackout curtains and radiator were effective. Breakfast was slightly disappointing as it was mostly a cold continental one with no hot food options. Extreme tiny room and bathroom, no view, difficult to move around and even to put the suitcase. Bedding is uncomfortable and bad pillows.

I did not stay here, but I popped in while hiking the coastline nearby, and the staff were very kind! They had a nice selection of drinks and snacks, and I bought juice to fuel the return hike. Much appreciated!

A beautifully located hotel. Not really necessary to pay extra for a sea view, as the windows are quite small. However, it's a really nice hotel, serving good food and with delightful staff.

This hotel is located in Höfn, about 500km from Reykjavik Airport. We arrived late at night, but the hotel staff were warm and welcoming. The facilities inside were also satisfactory.

Staff were friendly and location is just right in the middle of the city centre. However, there is only one microwave, one kettle and one fridge shared among all people so there might be some waiting time when making food. There is also no stove for cooking, so you can only microwave stuff to eat.

The official website advertised luggage storage, but it wasn't available, completely disrupting my travel plans. The staff's service was also very poor. The location is remote, with no proper roads for loading and unloading luggage; I had to carry heavy luggage up stairs covered in snow. However, the room was beautifully decorated, the heating was good, and the bathtub was nice.

Very cool, quiet place. Downtown is a 20 minute drive away. 40 to Thingavellir park. There's no reception, but check-in was easy. Bed and pillow were comfortable (subjective). Hot tub was great since it was snowing. We had a great time.

This was WAY overpriced for what it was. I didn't expect it to be so close to the freeway. The windows weren't even see through. This honestly felt like a scam

Stayed for 1 night as a family of 4 in the Krafla Dome. Lovely experience, nice and cosy and well equipped. Hot tub needed topped up with water and 2 men came within 5-10 minutes after I phoned and topped it up. Would definitely recommend a stay here, it was a nice way to end our busy 4 days exploring this beautiful country.

I was expecting rustic but at least thought it would have a door. Nice place, good bed, warm. Wood stove even though we found out wood is a premium in iceland.

Clean room, amazing views, comfy beds. We enjoyed the extra touch of champagne and macaroons left for us. Coffee was also there, no need to purchase and bring with you. The code entry for the door worked well. And hreyfill taxi service knows how to get you to and from the Domes and Reykjavik. Be sure to schedule with the taxi the night before you want to leave to avoid a wait.

My favorite hotel in Iceland. The room price can be high in certain days. But for most of time it's in reasonable price. Perfect location, where you can see the aurora all around the mountains. The room temperature is perfect and you can adjust it besides the window . They have a perfect balcony, which you can go straight outside and put your tripod on the grass and take pictures freely. There is no light influence at night so I can directly see the dark sky

I was a bit skeptical stopping at this hotel in the middle of nowhere on a gravel road, but this hotel was wonderful!! Food was very tasty, staff were very welcoming and friendly, and rooms were spacious and clean. Each room has a deck for aurora viewing (which we saw both nights). We had a fantastic experience. Winter in Arnarstapi means places close earlier and it’s a quieter time. Our host checked us in, stayed open later so that we could eat dinner in the restaurant, and made us a packed breakfast so that we could leave early for our next days adventures. On return to our room (ocean facing- so lovely) we unpacked our breakfast and found lunch as well!! What fabulous people...

I just visited the restaurant for lunch and enjoyed every bite of each plate. The LASAGNA is a must have plate if you ever passed by the waterfall in the area or checked in the hotel. It’s homemade with love and warmth !! So good you’ll be happy afterwards 🤭 I know I was 🤩

We loved our stay at Hotel Ranga. Truly a small luxury hotel. Nice comfortable rooms, great serene locations. We loved the observatory for star gazing and also saw a bit of northern lights. What stands out though is their professional hospitality and the service. They are all very willing to help. Very good food. We didn’t stayed in the hotel, but we stopped to have lunch, the food was amazing, deer carpaccio and the fish of the day (cod) was really tasty. Also the ice cream The staff was very kind and ready to help. And the place has great views, the bear in the main entrance was spectacular.

My husband and I stayed here for two nights and had a lovely experience. The first night we had the pleasure of attending the star gazing in the observatory with an absolutely wonderful astronomer. He was so knowledgeable, and seeing the stars that clearly was beautiful. Nice hotel but for a night I would stay in other hotels that where better and less expensive

Property was probably dorm rooms. It wasn’t terrible. We didn’t really have occasion to interact with staff. We stayed one night on our loop around Iceland. The town doesn’t have much by way of restaurants. Keep expectations basic.

The room with a private bathroom was clean and sufficient. Its all a bit sterile as its a student dorm. The breakfast was basic. Easy to park and location was convenient.

A dormitory style accommodation and hotel. Rooms are small, inbuilt desk, Lino floors and an even smaller bathroom. Quiet room once everyone has gone to their rooms. Restaurant is more a canteen and extremely noisy when several groups are there due to all the hard surfaces. Staff were genuine and helpful.

Had to stay here for a second day after being delayed due to cancellations at the airport. This is a very nice hotel and is quite cheap, although you get what you pay for. The rooms were extremely minimalistic, just the minimums that you need like a bed, table, TV, etc. The room and bathroom was clean and the bed was comfortable. The staff were also friendly. We stayed in the newer building. The bathrooms were nice but the linens and towels were dirty and had hair on them. The walls apparently are thin because the room next door to us kept banging on the wall telling us to be quiet. There was no elevator so we had to carry luggage up 3 flights. It's close to the hotel. Kinda dark outside at night.

This is a perfectly convenient dormitory style hostel. I had a private bedroom in a suite which shared a toilet and shower with another guest. We had a heavy locked door to the hallway and each of the bedrooms also had a locked door. Hotel in a beautiful, quiet location. This hotel has an incredible view over the nearby river and the mountains beyond. It is very quiet there. The beds are very soft, and some noises from the neighbouring rooms can be heard. Breakfast was very good and in a room with a scenic view. No Dinner was served at the hotel (end of August), we ate buffet at the Hraunfossar Restaurant - Cafe 10 km away.

Beautiful hotel located near Myvatn. The staff was really friendly and helpful. We signed in for a aurora wake up knock and because of that we saw a few aurora. Good breakfast and dinner. We had a lake view room and it was beautiful to wake up with the sunrise and the lake in sight.
