We stayed at La Taverna for 5 nights in late June. The room was clean, the area was quiet. The swimming pool was perfect, not crowded, and the beach was at a walkable distance. Appreciated the shop and local restaurants nearby. The staff was very helpful. There was a free shuttle to the train station (we visitedTropea). I can recommend La Taverna!

Borgo di Santa Barbara is a family-run wonderful hotel which offers large comfortable well equipped rooms with sea views, a swimming pool, a restaurant and bar, an awesome free morning breakfast presentation and is an ideal spot for relaxing or exploring this beautiful region of Calabria. This 3-star hotel, with its late 1980s interior, is dated. The friendly management makes you forget the structural deficiencies. I am very grateful to all the staff, because one day I needed medical help, when the ambulance, the hospital, and the doctors themselves were not able to help, but the hotel staff tried to make me feel better and rushed to help me as quickly as possible, and also personally took me to a local doctor.❤️❤️❤️

Price a bit expensive for 4 people (120), being a room with 4 single beds crammed together and considering the almost desolate area. I don't even recommend it for breakfast, as it is very sparse. Sleep there only if you are passing through. The staff on the other hand are very nice after all.

I went with my family to spend a day at the pool. Highly recommended for those looking to relax in a quiet, family-friendly atmosphere. We'll definitely be back to try the food.

A hotel with a swimming pool, pizzeria and restaurant just a few steps from the sea, the specialty is chicken cooked in a wood oven, I would say sublime. Friendly staff.

We only came for the restaurant, that being said I came here about 4 times during my stay in Calabria this year and I can’t wait to come another 40 times over the next few years. I’ve been lucky enough to have pizza all over Italy and this is easily in my top 3 pizzas of all time. As for the calzone, I ordered it with 4 cheese and nduja inside and it’s without a doubt the best calzone I’ve ever had...

We only had dinner, not stayed, and we really appreciated the welcome, the friendliness of the staff, the availability, and the service on time. We stayed in this resort last week. Nice decently maintained village, surrounded by well-kept greenery. It goes without saying that the sea is stupendous, a natural aquarium... It is not immediately as high as in other places in Calabria as the beach is in an entire inlet of the village even if it is not large. Animation very nice, good and efficient. For the price, the place is in a nice area and walking distance to most things. The downside is no instructions provided from the train station (ie use the lift) & instead we had to carry 20kg bags up the hill & stairs in 30 degree heat. Exhausting. Contrary to the reviews, there was no view from the room. The room was quite small as well. The property is in the upper town, which is a long, exhausting climb from the train station (we discovered the following day that there is a public elevator that we could have used; why didn’t the owner tell us?). Me and my girlfriend stayed here for one night and had a wonderful time. Everything was very clean and well maintained. The pool was clean. We had dinner in their restaurant and it was fantastic! The service was great.

The training that I was one of the participant used this place as a venue, which I am so happy that they did. We stayed there 5 nights. They were so kind and the food we had were delicious. I also had the opportunity to volunteer in the mornings at the farm. What a gem! As a side note, I observed families visiting this place on the weekends... they have a small zoo for kids

It's ok. Good food, not too much, not too little for the main course. A bit disappointed with the "antipasto", it was small but delicious. You'll love the mansion and the acre of land they have, a swimming pool (make sure not to use it after dining) and different animals. The poor pony was under the sun, 35 degrees with flies in its eyes. Ask for the black pork as second course (when they have it)

The rooms, at least the one where I slept, had several defects (bed all wrong, shower without support for the shower head, TV with cable too short to reach the wall ...).
