This hotel is completely over rated! The food is horrible and the free alcohol is watered down. The pools are not heated including the hot tubs. Everyone smokes everywhere. Great central hotel around 7 minute walk from Centrale FS station so very easy to get around. Takes around 35 minutes walk to Duomo. Plenty of good restaurants nearby, do try Barzac which is about 90 second walk away! Rooms are compact but have everything you need. There is a fridge as well in these rooms.

I went there for New Year's Eve. I recommend flying instead of taking the train. The train station is a boat ride away from the hotel, but the airport has the hotel's own shuttle boat service, which is much more convenient.

This is a very old-fashioned hotel, comparable to the Portman Hotel in Shanghai. The hotel is a 20-30 minute taxi ride from the airport and a few bus stops away from the nearest subway station. On my first night, I arrived late and wasn't sure how to take the bus from the subway station, so I ended up taking an Uber. The ease of which everything can be accessed and enjoyed at the GranSerena is its main pulling factor. Its location gained only 4 stars as it is one of many Italian resorts which is difficult to navigate onto a main route, but then 5 stars would be applicable because it has situated itself next to a fine Italian beach.

Such a beautiful hotel, the staff here are incredibly friendly and hospitable, it is more aimed towards Italian customers which is perfect to immerse yourself in the culture.
