This small hotel is unpretentious in a convenient location less than ten minutes walking from Roma Trastevere station. From there, one can get to Fiumicino airport by train in less than 30 minutes or to the main train stations (Termini and Tiburtina). You can take the tram or a bus to multiple places or you can just walk twenty minutes or so to Santa Maria in Trastevere to stroll or to eat. Our favorite restaurants are right there. First, the positive: the staff is friendly and attentive. We were greeted by Marco who made us feel welcome. While there are stairs (on two sides), the ones leading to the hotel from Gianicolense are less of a challenge with luggage. The rooms are comfortable and the bathroom looks remodeled. The shower is very good. The room was very clean and there are plenty of outlets for charging equipment. While other reviewers pointed out the place was quiet, we had to deal with some noise. Guests arriving late at night or leaving early in the morning woke us up. This may not be as much of the hotel’s responsibility, but the lack of kindness of the guests. Our room smelled like someone smoked in it. If this is a problem, please make sure you get a non-smoking room (before you settled), which I thought we reserved. We did not point it out right away and I regretted it. While they are functional and clean, I think the bathroom towels could be softer. I would stay here again, particularly when having an early flight out of Fiumicino or train anywhere.

this is worst hotel with impolite customer service and very bad communications.
i contacted them on 09/30/2019 with respect to unauthorized charge to my credit card. the charge was 1,190$ and made under another person name.
they basically ignored my emails and phone calls. i had to communicate with my bank and report a fraud.
when I contact the hotel they simply said, we don't care who made the reservation or whose name is on the card . we just charge it .
go save your time and walk to your police stations and tell them !!!

I have never had this kind of response from a hotel !! the degree of disrespectful or un ability to have a respectful talk is high as the sky !!!

all commutations with them is saved and can be shared/will be shared every where, so that people know who they are dealing with and such management to train their people!

i dont advice anyone to share their data with this facility.

we were hosted in this wonderful little boutique hotel in August 2014, we were really good compliments to the staff for the cleanliness, the kindness, the availability, we will return in a few weeks, our point of reference in Rome .A special greeting to sig. Wonderful hotel. Head here Italian uncle and his assistant, do all cleaning, cooking, Breakfast and lots of tips on how to pass and where to find. Very friendly and nice) hotel in half an hour's walk to the centre, can be reached by 8m bus for 7-10 minutes.
The rooms are small but all have a wardrobe, a Desk, a big bed, bedside tables, air conditioning, toilet with shower and even a small TV:) my husband is very pleased with the stay here

Hotel is in a residential area.. Steep steps from main road. Our room was in the basement...Basic room.. No iron, no kettle. Continental breakfast.. One day they ran out of breakfast items.

Fantastic staff, good price, nice location, close to the trams heading to city center. No problem with parking.

Very clean and Friendly staff. The breakfast is good. The location is very good, train direct to/from airport. trains, trams and buses take you directly to the heart of Rome in 20 minutes.
The beds are a bit small but not too bad.

Lovely villa style hotel, nice rooms, however the location is not good. Walking distance to station Trastevere, but be aware, you have to climb steap steps. Next day, we called a cab who couldn't find it. So, if you want a quiet place to stay, read and write, IL Villione is a great place. Active, curious travellers better find a more convenient place.
