Orient Express La Minerva in Rome

Rooms were very small and dated. Mini bar dirty and services not cleaned. Breakfast was not worth 35 pp! However, good location and walking distance to tourist attractions.

The waiter on the rooftop charged us 6 euros for the coffee and 11 for an orange juice !!! He wouldn't accept credit card payments and gave us a hand written receipt! A complete scam. Ps: the rooftop had a lovely view on the other hand

Save your money. The first room had mold in the shower and was very dated. The second room had mold also but not as bad. The third room they showed us was occupied and filthy. We opted for the lesser of all evils which was the second room. The last day we actually opened the mini refrigerator and gagged. It was full of mold. The customer service manager (a wonderful young lady named Manuella) came up and looked at it and was appalled. The front desk people were full of themselves and very snooty. Who was paying their salary? The customers that's who. Listen people.....your place would be a second rate hotel in the States at best so get off your high horses. They did take the charge for the restaurant and the 14.00 euro charge for a bucket of dirty ice and two bottles of water off of our bill. Big deal. We would much rather of had a clean room. After a twelve thousand dollar trip to their country do they think a few apps and couple of glasses of wine put things right? I will say that the staff, food and view of the roof top garden restaurant were all wonderful. That's about it though. We wouldn't stay there again.
