Hotel d'Inghilterra Roma - Starhotels Collezione in Rome

Since there's no such thing as a 0-star rating, I'll give it 1 star. Actually, it doesn't even deserve 0!
As a Ctrip Black Diamond VIP, I've used Ctrip for nearly 30 years and never leave a review online, but I have to say something about this hotel. I'm almost 50, have traveled extensively, and have never seen such a terrible hotel. It's incredibly lazy! Remember, I stayed in a suite for 1,508 euros a night for 6 nights.
First, the breakfast was abysmal. It was just bread and jam, with a few slices of pathetic ham. Then, when we went to breakfast the next day, we waited over 20 minutes and asked three times, but still no cutlery was available. Water and bread were not brought. Yes, I was right. You have to wait for water and bread at the breakfast buffet; you can't help yourself. However, the foreigners who came after us did get their bread and water, while the Chinese table next to us also didn't get anything. I asked three times, but to no avail. Such arrogance and disrespect. Is this discrimination against Chinese people? I had an appointment at the Vatican that day and couldn't be late. So I skipped it. I never went to breakfast again after that.

Then, it was incredibly noisy, making it impossible to sleep. The people downstairs started commotion at 1 a.m., making such a cacophony that I couldn't fall asleep. Then, around 6 a.m., the trash collection started again, taking over two hours. The clanging of garbage and bottles made it impossible to sleep. This happened every day. The hotel only has six floors, and we were on the fourth. We couldn't sleep all night.

And the supposed king bed and two single beds weren't there. Instead, they had an extra bed built into the suite's dining room, which served as a bedroom.

Finally, the most ridiculous thing happened. When I checked out, they refused to pay my card. I repeatedly asked, and they told me that Ctrip had already paid, so I didn't have to. They also told me that the travel agency had paid, so they couldn't give me the bill. I hadn't paid for the room yet. After asking several times, I had no luck, so I had to catch my flight. Since I left my credit card details when I checked in, they charged my room three times after I left, each for 8,868 euros. My actual room charge should have been 8,868 euros. Yes, you read that correctly. They charged me 26,604 euros in three transactions, all while I was on the plane after leaving the hotel. I called them after getting off the plane, and they denied it, saying only one transaction was successful. "I have a CMB card record, right?" "How can they deny it?" How can a self-proclaimed luxury hotel do such a thing? I'm completely astonished. As of this review, I still haven't received my money back. Of course, I've entrusted Ctrip and CMB to handle this, and I'd like to thank them. Everyone, take note! ‼ ️ Never stay at this hotel. They're incredibly lazy!!!
