The room is not soundproof, there are no slippers provided, and the hallway to the room might seem a bit maze-like.
We were on our honeymoon, July 19-21 and July 22-24.
We booked two nights each, planning to stay one night on an Italian island.
For the first two nights, we had a room on the fourth floor. It was small and the view wasn't great because it was directly in front of another room, but it was clean. The front desk staff were very helpful.
I returned on the night of the 22nd to check into a different room. They charged me 25 euros without any explanation. I was suspicious because when I checked in on the 19th, it was only 20 euros, but they didn't explain why.
We were shown to our room, which was on the ground floor, and the smell of sewage and garbage filled the air. When I opened the window, there was a trash can, and it smelled so bad it was unacceptable.
The smell was so unbearable that I asked the front desk staff for a different room, but they sighed and spoke loudly, so their response was terrible.
They also showed me to an unused room in another building (there was no room key, and it looked like a hotel from 30 years ago). I hated staying in such a dirty room, even though it cost 40,000 yen a night.
I asked for a different room in the hotel I had booked, not in a different building, but they said the only rooms they could offer me were the smelly one and the one I had just seen.
They said, "If you don't like that, we'll cancel your reservation and you can stay at a different hotel," so I canceled and stayed at another hotel.
The front desk staff who dealt with me was awful and very condescending, which left me feeling very unhappy.
They told me the cancellation had been made free of charge, but
When I checked on the 24th, the cancellation request had been cancelled on the Trip.com app and no refund had been issued.
Since I was in Rome, I visited the hotel again, and the staff member who dealt with me was very honest and agreed to cancel my reservation again, but the response was very slow. It wasn't until the 27th that the refund was finally processed.
The service and room were so poor for the price,
I will never book again.
