Rosa Apartment in Baveno

I have written many reviews, but this is by far the worst one I have ever had to write. Let me be clear: the hotel itself and its location are fine, but one particular receptionist completely ruined our stay.

From the moment we arrived, her attitude was shockingly unfriendly and unwelcoming. We were traveling as a family (two adults and two small children) and had booked two rooms because there were no apartments available. Despite clearly seeing that we had young kids, she deliberately assigned us rooms that were a mile apart. I tried to be understanding, thinking maybe there was no availability.

However, the room she gave me and my son was clearly meant for disabled guests and reeked terribly of mold. I raised this issue politely, and all she did was say she would “check it,” but of course, she did absolutely nothing. I eventually had to ask to speak with the manager, who fortunately was professional and managed to move us to a more suitable room.

What shocked me the most was her attitude when I told her that I would be forced to write a negative review. Instead of showing any concern, she actually threatened to take away my parking space and make me move to another one—completely unprofessional and vindictive behavior.

I have never encountered such hostility from hotel staff in my life. It genuinely felt like she was going out of her way to make our stay as unpleasant as possible. I cannot understand how management allows someone with such a toxic attitude to work at the reception desk.

To the manager: you should seriously reconsider who you hire to represent your hotel. One bad employee can destroy the entire experience for your guests.

Until this issue is addressed, I cannot recommend Hotel Rosa to families or anyone who values basic respect and hospitality.

Stinking room with garbage bins right in front of our windows. The staff was rude and was not helpful at all. In the end we were not able to get our money back. Ruined the entire vacation. KEEP AWAY!
