B&B La Via della Giudecca in Syracuse

Sometimes it’s hard to find linens free of mold and mildew in this kind of climate and price range. These accommodations were clean and beautiful on the inside. Felt very lucky to find it. They made up our room on the third day. Directly next to a church that is worth checking out as well.

The room hotel was spacious and comfortable, the location is great in Ortigia island, the staff were very friendly and kind.
We didn’t have breakfast at the hotel but it was not unpleasant because the staff recommended us a coffee shop nearby which was really good

Amazing location, great rooms and good beds! But if you're a light sleeper with a room on the church/street side: bring earplugs. The doors and windows are so thin that it felt like the people outside could just as well stand in your bedroom. Which isn't great if you (try to) sleep, since the location is close to a bar and a nice spot to hang for younger people.

Very nice stay at La Via Della Giudecca. We arrived a little late, which they accommodated (if arriving after 6pm usually you should call to arrange check-in) and were given a lovely little room on the top floor with a nice terrace in the sun.

As with all hotels in Italy you will need to remember to pay the local charge on departure - it's €12. You have to pay this in cash, there's a number of ATMs nearby but leave yourself enough time!

The hotel is in a fantastic location, very close to the main sights in Ortigia. It's a little hard to find as there is no sign, but it's close to the café Giudecca and the tabac, almost next door to the chiesa. There's not a great deal of parking nearby (there's actually not a great deal of parking in Ortigia) so you may have a bit of a walk. For those on foot, it's around 20 minutes to and from Siracusa bus station and the buses leave every hour.

Unfortunately the hotel does not offer breakfast, but there are some good options such as Irma la Dolce nearby.

Booked 2 nights here on 28th - 30th May 2016. An excellent friendly welcome. Good English spoken. Help carrying our luggage to our room. The room was an excellent size. Bedroom had a small balcony overlooking a square. Comfortable night's sleep in a 4 poster bed. Although in centre of Ortigia, very little outside noise. Image on 'google' street view does not do it justice. The area is safe and full of history. Small passageways to explore with plenty of bars, restaurants and a small supermarket within easy walking distance. There is a lovely courtyard with wooden bench and chairs to enjoy an alfresco meal on a warm evening. Breakfast was a feast. I would highly recommend this B & B.
