Mio Hotel Firenze in Florence

Contrary to many reviews we found the staff frequently abrupt, rude, slow to help and at one point aggressive. I acknowledge this is subjective and we may have been unlucky in our encounters, so I will say the staff has "potential" to be unpleasant. Therefore, hope that you catch them on a good day when you visit. Objectively speaking the hotel is "cheap" in all senses of the word, and you get what you pay for. The room was sparse, depressing but clean. The beds did have mattresses but you were reminded of this by each individual spring pressing persistently in your back. If sleep cannot be achieved you can bear witness to the conversations of neighbouring rooms to keep you entertained. There is a reason breakfast is free at an already budgeted hotel, it is edible... Location is a 20 minute tram commute to the centre.

In short, maybe consider this if you are on a budget but I would wager you can find better hotels, more conveniently situated within a similar price range.
