Hotel 24Sweets Hakuba in Hakuba

The cleanliness of the room was extremely poor. There were cigarette butts left in our bin from previous guests, which was unacceptable. The towels were very thin and of poor quality, and the bedding and bed sheets were also very low quality and uncomfortable. There were visible stains on the carpet, and room cleaning service was provided only once during our entire 7‑night stay. The drying room was kept unheated, so gloves and boots did not dry at all. After two nights of frustration, we were advised to dry our boots inside our room instead, which defeats the purpose of having a drying room. I have attached a photo of the building, and from this alone it is clear that the hotel places little importance on maintenance and overall upkeep of both the property and its appearance. I genuinely regret staying at this hotel. For the price charged, there are far better options available. As this was my first time in Hakuba, I learned that many hotels offer shuttle services to the mountains, meaning there is no need to stay right in the centre. Aside from its central location, there is absolutely nothing positive about this hotel.
