Great! But there aren't enough shuttle buses and the signage isn't clear.

We spent 2 nights in Prince after first 2 nights in Kusatsu onsen town. The hotel looked underwhelming on arrival and the front office service was efficient but cursory compared to the warm hospitality we had in the ryokan stay. It was low season and hotel was very quiet and had a "cold" atmosphere.

I was further disappointed when we were shown our room which was on the lowest floor with a simple garden view. On requesting the check-in staff for a change of room on higher floor and a more scenic view, I was told there is an upgrade charge, which I accepted. The new room was the same size and configuration but on a higher floor with a nice view of Mt Asama. While I was happy to pay the fee, I can't help but compare their practice with all the hotels that I have stayed in all these years, where room changes were complimentary so long as the room type remains the same. Nevertheless, the hotel's facilities delighted me immensely and I enjoyed the overall experience.
The highlight of the hotel stay was the fantastic view of Asama in a high ceiling dining room with full glass window. We were able to have different table seatings for both morning breakfast as the hotel occupancy was low, which gave us different perspectives of the scenery.
The other highlight of the hotel is the onsen facility which is located in a separate building on higher ground, accessible via a self service automated tram. Aside from Asama view in the outdoor onsens, there is a common lounge which has equally awesome view of Asama. We enjoyed our time soaking in onsen and resting in the lounge.

The front desk and restaurant staff were all so friendly, beautiful, and stylish (a feast for the eyes). They helped us carry our luggage to our room and explained all the facilities in detail, such as the mini-cart required to use the public pool, the forest sanctuary, and the shuttle bus. We enjoyed watching the Big Dipper at night and the sea of clouds in the morning.

The environment here is absolutely beautiful; you can enjoy stunning views right from your window every morning. It's also very convenient to drive to all the attractions in Karuizawa. The breakfast is exquisite and delicious, and the view from the window is breathtaking. Most importantly, the outdoor hot spring offers panoramic views, making soaking in the hot spring feel like being in a fairyland. I highly recommend this hotel; I'd love to come back with friends to play golf in the future.

Tokyo is overcrowded, and I felt it had gotten dirtier this time. There was tons of trash on the way to Asakusa Jr. Station. Take the Shinkansen directly to Karuizawa, which takes an hour. Get off and you'll see mountains and lush vegetation. Get off at the Karuizawa South Exit and you'll be taken to the Prince Hotel Lounge. The shuttle bus for the Asama Prince is near the taxi line, while the other Prince hotels are located near the L'Occitane entrance. It's a ten-minute drive; public transportation isn't available. The Asama Prince has the lowest price among the Prince hotels. I booked a standard room on the first floor, with the lobby on the second floor, the better rooms on the second floor, and the more luxurious rooms on the third floor. Rooms are listed as 30 to 36 square meters, but my room was 30 square meters at most, which wasn't as big as the pictures suggest. The room was very clean and well-maintained, with some renovations, so it didn't feel run-down. It's very quiet in the mountains and highly recommended for golfers, as it's right next to a golf course and well-maintained. Asama Prince is small, with only one restaurant. Since there are no commercial options nearby, we booked meals. Dinner was a Western-style set menu, which was very delicious. I recommend upgrading the main course. The basic fish and pork dishes were of poor quality. The biggest problem was that the five-course meal took two hours, and many tables were waiting for their food. It was much better than the dinner at Wanping Hotel, with a smooth and effortless pace. The breakfast buffet was average quality, with a limited variety. I rarely book Prince after staying at Kamakura Prince, which was old and dingy. Karuizawa Asama Prince is mediocre, not as good as the cheaper Chuzenjiko Kanaya. There's a tea bar there, and the quality and service at dinner exceeded expectations. Also, some Japanese people at the hotel's onsen behaved inappropriately. I saw two elderly Japanese men sitting improperly, putting their bare feet on another chair, and even more so, rubbing their bare feet against it. Was it foot itch? It was disgusting! The next morning, two women went with a little boy. He was quite large, about four or five years old. I was shocked. I've been to many Japanese onsens, but this was the first time I'd seen a little boy in a women's pool. He was old enough to remember things. Is that really okay? He was thrashing around in the pool and making a lot of noise. Isn't it said to be a quiet onsen? Overall, I wouldn't recommend it unless it's very cheap. Compared to the Wanping area, Fufu is worth the price.

The room was immaculately clean, and the welcoming staff was very friendly. We had a French set menu for dinner, which was delicious!
The breakfast buffet offered both Japanese and Western dishes, and the food was delicious and varied!
Another fun thing was the short tram ride to the hot spring baths. The water is natural, and it was a delightful experience to soak in the baths while gazing at the distant mountain views!
It's a perfect place to relax and unwind on vacation!

Provides shuttle services to Karuizawa Station (which is also where the factory outlet is). Super good service, all the staff members are so welcoming, nice and helpful, and they bid the guests goodbye the traditional Japanese way when we leave, such a warm touch. Very good breakfast with a super nice view. Rooms are spacious enough and very comfortable.
