Very nice accommodation. We stayed in April, in summer may be too hot as air conditioning is not very efficient.
A truly authentic Machiya experience. Although it may seem small and old-fashioned, it's very cozy and special. Aesthetically, it's incredible, and we were very pleased with every detail, like the relaxing bath, which even includes instructions in English on how to use the housewares. It faces a main street, so there's usually a lot of traffic, but everything is quite protected and soundproofed, so...
It was really great and so memorable!!❤️ Since we had the whole house to ourselves, it truly felt like staying at a high-end ryokan. There is a courtyard, the bathroom is beautiful, and because it features tatami mats, the house itself has a very traditional atmosphere!! I also requested breakfast, and they delivered the kaiseki directly to the room, which was a unique and delicious experience! They...
Stunning Kyo-Machiya. Hosts were lovely and very informative. Located in a quiet area, not far from cafes and shops. Rooms were immaculate. Highly recommend.
we loved our stay in this typical Japanese house. the house has a lot of charm and very well appointed. the only drawback is that it is a bit out of the way of the main tourist spots in the city.

An absolutely amazing experience! I've stayed in countless top-tier hotels over the years, and Gōra Kadan is, without a doubt, the best!
The service was incredibly thoughtful. They offered on-demand shuttle service to all the attractions in Gora, which was a lifesaver, especially avoiding walking in the cold winter. I highly recommend booking a room with a private onsen, as the bookable private baths and the public bath don't compare to the experience of soaking in your own room.
Our stay at this luxury ryokan was simply magnificent in every aspect: the service, atmosphere, grounds, cleanliness, and the genuine care and attention to detail were all exceptional. From the moment we arrived, we were treated with the utmost reverence and attentiveness, making us feel like honored guests and part of the ryokan family. As Russian guests, we were particularly impressed by the thoughtful...
Very suitable for family travel!
When we arrived, three hotel staff greeted us and helped us with our luggage. The whole accommodation experience was very good, with thoughtful details and a warm feeling. When we left the hotel, we sat in the lobby to enjoy the view. The manager took the initiative to serve tea and asked about our itinerary and needs. He sent a car to take us to Gora Station. I give it a thumbs up.
When checking in, the hotel will explain the tourist route of Hakone. It's a no-brainer to check in and just follow the map provided by the hotel. The service exceeded my expectations. I felt like a princess returning home during my stay. I thought this was the standard Japanese service. But later I stayed in other hotels and found that the service of Gora Kadan is far better than other hotels of...

This European-style ski hotel is located in the forest. There are few guests in the off-season. The hotel's French food is good, but the decoration is a bit old.
I have stayed at this hotel four times since 2012 and come for winter, both Christmas and Chinese New Year. The hotel is beautiful nestled in the forest. The lobby is cozy with a fireplace for roasting marshmallows, the restaurant picturesqe with surround glass windows to watch the snow fall during dinner, the rooms are spacious, clean and lovely with deep plunge tubs for soaking at the end of the...
Facilities: The equipment is relatively old, but well maintained; Hygiene: It's OK, but I have a mysophobia, and some corners are still relatively dark after wiping with alcohol for a while; Environment: It should be said that it is good, located in the forest. It is a relatively remote location, but the environment is very good. But it is basically impossible to get a taxi or hotel bus outside,...
Staying in this hotel made me feel the warmth of home, with comfortable beds, thoughtful supplies, and meticulous service. It is an ideal place to stay for business trips and travel.

The room was very spacious, especially the bathroom 😆—it was huge and spotless, and all the toiletries were brand-name. The hotel is right above a subway station, which made getting around super convenient.
Although the room included lounge access, I ended up taking it easy and ended up being five minutes late during the daytime, meaning I couldn't receive the service. I wish they had been a little more accommodating and showed more hospitality. The room was spacious, but the bathroom smelled a bit damp, perhaps due to its design. Amenities were plentiful. I chose Japanese food and it was delicious.

Excellent service and authentic atmosphere
As expected of a Relais & Châteaux hotel and a century-old Japanese establishment, the facilities, dining, rooms, and service were all top-notch in Kinosaki Onsen. I particularly loved the hotel's Japanese garden and large public bath, as well as the excellent service and dining. It was a pity that I missed the snow crab season; only the rooms were a bit dated.
This is a near-perfect hot spring hotel! As soon as I exited Kinosaki Onsen Station, someone immediately called the hotel's private car to pick me up and take me to the hotel! I booked a room with its own open-air bath, which was incredibly enjoyable, allowing me to enjoy the private onsen at any time. Since my check-in day was my birthday, the hotel thoughtfully provided me with a small gift and celebratory...
The best hotel in the Kinosakionsen. The best hotel in Kinosakionsen. The service and food are much better than American hotels such as Rizt Carlton and Marriott in my hotel experience, and better than Japanese city hotels. Ms. Ito Nanaho, who takes care of the room and dinner, and another lady with glasses who takes care of breakfast, all provide excellent services and deserve great praise. I will...
The old Japanese hotel has a beautiful courtyard and warm service. Dinner was kaiseki cuisine eaten in the house, one dish after another, and it took two hours to eat. The private soup in the yard can be soaked at any time.
A very good stay experience! The room is larger than the average hot spring hotel. It is very comfortable for three people to stay. It feels very good to eat in the restaurant in the room! Dinner and breakfast are all served with fresh seasonal ingredients, ingenious cooking and exquisite presentation. They are absolutely delicious and delicious! Highly recommended!

Thoroughly enjoyed the serene escape. The hotel's facilities seamlessly blend with the natural environment, making for a truly relaxing stay. The staff lived up to Aman's standards – proactive, warm, and always remembered guests' names. Both the Japanese omakase and the Western dinner, as well as breakfast, were of high quality. The private onsen at the spa was a highlight, especially during sunrise
This hotel, a secluded gem, is a complete contrast to the Tokyo Aman. It's perfect for introverts, with very few rooms and not many guests, making it ideal for unwinding. The hotel offers plenty of activities, and the views are absolutely stunning. Highly recommended.
The hotel service was exceptionally good. I left something behind, and they delivered it to my new hotel first thing in the morning the next day.
The hotel environment is beautiful and very zen, nestled within a forest. When you open the room curtains, you're greeted with a view of the woods. There are many activities to choose from at the hotel, and breakfast is incredibly rich and varied.
Aman Kyoto gave me a feeling of calm and tranquility. I received lovely little surprises like complimentary snacks and champagne from the hotel. The Japanese cuisine at Taka-an is definitely worth trying – it's exquisite and absolutely delicious.
The most beautiful secret garden, the whole vibe is quiet and meditative. Although the hotel isn't huge, it has a strong wild, mountaintop feel, and the air is incredibly fresh. The service is absolutely exceptional. From breakfast and afternoon tea/wine to the matcha time at the Tea House, everyone patiently explains each ingredient. The room was spacious and had a jacuzzi, which was a big plus. The staff were excellent and very attentive. Both breakfast and dinner were great, with a nice sense of occasion. The food tasted pretty good too. Definitely worth a visit!
Great location but everything was very dated, the TV, western sofa set, even the car that drove us to the train station. We stayed in a room with an indoor onset which we enjoyed. The kaiseki and breakfast was very good.
Hida-Takayama Onsen Hotel is top-tier among all the onsen hotels I've stayed at in Japan. It's incredibly clean, ideally located very close to Takayama's main attractions, and just a short walk from Takayama Station.
The best Japanese hotel I've ever stayed in. The service was excellent. Great for families to relax, and the hot springs are very comfortable.
They offer complimentary morning yoga on an irregular schedule, which was absolutely wonderful! The food was delicious, and all the staff members were incredibly kind. Also, I don't think many people know this, but they also have a hot stone sauna, so if you love baths and saunas, you'll find it very fulfilling!
The room is spacious, and the hotel's location in Furano is excellent. However, Furano might be more suitable for a summer visit.

So glad I did some research and decided to stay here- at the hotel and in Izu vs super touristy Hakone. The hotel is exceptional from start to finish. Definitely one of those places that you remember and the staff are incredible. 100% guaranteed great stay. Hope to visit again at some point.
We got engaged in Ochiairo! The most beautiful hotel I have experienced in Japan. Quiet luxury at its finest.
This is the most magical place I’ve ever stayed… at times it felt like the closest thing to heaven on earth. If you are thinking of reserving a room, don’t hesitate. I couldn’t recommend this beautiful ryokan highly enough.
Ochiairo was even more beautiful than expected - the entrance and hallways smell really nice and you get a feeling of calmness immediately. Located beside the stream, it is a nice Japanese hot spring courtyard holiday experience! We stayed in the Sky Tower. The Akari and Sora buildings are the cheapest standard rooms. The rooms themselves appear to be the same size, but the Sora room uses more space for the open-air bath, while the Akari room seems to have made the open-air bath space smaller and made the room larger. Finally checked off my must-stay hotel! Getting to the hotel from Sapporo was easier than I expected. Zaborin offers a pick-up service from Kuch'an Station. The white and black swans... seem to have already disappeared. For dinner, we had an appetizer, teppanyaki, two hot pots, rice cooked in a pot, and four dishes using solid fuel. If I could give 100 stars for service, I would. This place was exceptional, the staff are so incredibly nice and their attention to detail is unmatched. The food is incredible and the rooms are very authentic. There are a-lot of cute places to eat in walking distance but you should opt in for dinners at the ryoken. If you are planning a trip to Ito or even Hakone, this is an excellent place to stay...
Ito Ryokuyu is a special place. We spent 3 nights in the Mikura room and could not be happier. The room was spacious and boasted of beautiful and traditional Japanese design from the tatami mats to the wood carvings. The cute onsen was our first stop in the morning and our last in the evening every day, and left our skin glowing and minds relaxed. The food was exceptional. We had dinner and breakfast...
Onsen hotel, we ordered with private bath, including breakfast and dinner. Got picked up at Ito station. The staff is so helpful, and serves dinner and breakfast in your room. A great experience. You should know some Japanese going here, as it increases the experience even further.
This was a really incredible stay! The staff was so welcoming, kind, and patient. Food was delicious and plentiful, and the baths were wonderfully relaxing. I had a great time in Ito, and I highly recommend Ito Ryokuyu for a refreshing and luxurious time!
We booked the Shikine room - a beautiful traditional Japanese-style tatami room with a private open-air hot spring bath, as well as in-room dinner and breakfast. The service was excellent from start to finish: warm greetings, luggage assistance, room setup, and even pick-up and drop-off from the station. They even held umbrellas for us when it rained! The traditional Japanese-style dinner and breakfast...
Highly recommended! You can tell how comfortable it is by looking at the photos. The private bath room is really good and you can go out to bathe at any time. The service is first-class. You must order two meals. It is very delicious. The transportation is also convenient. It is only 7-8 minutes walk from Yidongnan Station.
