Great location for skiing. It’s a short walk from the ski room to the gondola.  We enjoyed the restaurants and onsen.  This is a quiet place.  We had a fantastic week of skiing with fresh snow on five consecutive days. Nearly all of the terrain is off-piste so good snow is needed to access most runs.

Very satisfied with our stay at Angel Grandia Hotel. The ski-in, ski-out access made skiing extremely convenient, and moving from the ski area into the hotel never felt cold. The room was warm and comfortable at night. The staff and shuttle bus attendants were friendly and helpful, and having a FamilyMart inside the hotel was very convenient. The room is outdated style of Japanese room design. When we reach the Echigo Yuzawa station there are no more JR train at 21.45 at nite, we have to take a taxi to the hotel. The transportation is a big issue as the hotel shuttle last bus is at 4.30pm. Good point is children can play snow just doorstep outside hotel. Stayed there for two nites which is enough to explore. Not much tourist was found there...

Lovely hotel in the middle of Hakuba. Location is a little secluded and without a car, it takes some effort to get to the city or around. We were happy to stay and chill at the hotel though. Excellent and cozy hotel. However, the receptionist's service was a bit gruff, and my room was dirty. There were a lot of cookie crumbs under the beds, a lot of hair, and almost 20 ladybugs in the room, especially behind the curtains. I will be staying here in my upcoming holiday. I visited there 15 years ago it's right in the centre of furumachi niigata city. It has hot spring style baths which are great for sore bones and elderly travellers. It's a radium bath.

The rooms are quite spacious, and the hot springs are very comfortable, with one on the 9th floor and one on B1. I stayed at the hotel during the Nagoya Womens Marathon/City Marathon. The room was very clean. The staff was accommodating for the marathon runners and served breakfast early. Great service, big comfy beds and very clean room. Separate bathroom and toilet. The only thing I can pick on is the room design that puts the washing basin outside as it takes away quite some usable space for the luggage when the room itself is quite spacious. We had two 55-65cm suitcases but still struggled slightly to get space for both.

Coming out of the west exit of Echigo-Yuzawa Shinkansen Station, there's a free shuttle service that runs every 10 minutes or so in the morning, and every 20-30 minutes in the afternoon. We went to Naspa new Otani hotel for purpose of skiing. I wanted a complete ski resort close to town. The rooms were big with a bath. The hotel also has a great onsen.
