MANGA ART HOTEL, TOKYO - Hostel, Tokyo1 / 7
7.5
Tokyo, 5F, 1-14-13 Kanda Nishikicho (45 min from centre) 🧭 Map
You cannot expect to have a full fledged hotel room experience and put low rating. If you want that kinda of experience go to a expensive hotel instead. This was super comfy and budget friendly place
Chiyoda city is a good point to travel around tokyo and the hotel is right in the spot close to metro and bus stations. This place has everything you need and is comfy
Minimalistic but clean dormitory with a well-curated selection of comics. When it's time to sleep you practically climb into the bookshelves. Quite fun, if you're okay with capsule hotel style accommodation.
This is a very affordable capsule hotel. It’s located near several train lines, making it very easy to travel. The staff are friendly and eager to help
However, I stayed here from late December to early January and noticed the rooms were freezing, as if the heater wasn't turned on. It was actually painful to try to fall asleep
I would stay again if I could get a bottom bunk! Pros: - Comfy bed! - quiet area - around the corner from the train station and 7/11 - two blocks from the laundry Cons: - no common area - shower doesn’t stay warm - not many English manga selections

Tokyo, Shinbashi, 3 Chome?15?7 THbiru 2Jie , Minato, 105-0004 Tokio, Yaponiya (60 min from centre) 🧭 Map
The place is small but well-organized. The bathroom is very clean. The accommodation is not far from the station, and the area is a fun nightlife district.
Not bad. The environment is pretty good and it's very convenient.
It's very convenient to follow the navigation. The room is small, so you have to put your suitcases outside. 6 kilometers away from Tokyo Tower, which is very convenient. There are many kinds of food around
There are a lot of businesses people staying so it will get a little bit more louder around 7-8 am. The last night I stayed in the female dorms was great though
The hostel has a great location near Shinbashi statio. Even tho it is a bit small, it works for a short stay ;)
The front desk staff were also very polite! I also liked that they provided loungewear and toothbrushes!

Tokyo, 2-15-3 Kiyokawa, Taito-ku (7 km from centre) 🧭 Map
10 minutes walk away from the subway station, bus stop just in front. Older building in a quiet residential neighborhood. Room was fine, every thing was proper. Good choice for limited budgets
Old building and room but clean and spacious Receptionist very helpful Quiet hotelstreets, but bus stop infront of hotel to asakusa
There are two nearby trainstations so the area is well connected, but it is a fairly long commute to areas such as Shinjuku. If you're travelling on a budget and dont mind a little extra travel time, this is a great spot
The location is nice: good supermarkets around, not so far there is a local place with very tasty ramen. Good park nearby, nice view of Tokyo tower from the balcony in the top floor, cosy smoking place on the first floor
Hygiene: The hallways were cleaned daily. The toilet and bathroom were consistently spotless. Environment: There's a supermarket and convenience store downstairs, which is quite convenient
Right beside multiple bus stops that go directly to Asakusa and Ueno lines. Of course it's kept flawlessly clean, and there is a private bath option you can book in advance at front desk.

Tokyo, 5-chome-2-7 Asakusabashi (5 km from centre) 🧭 Map
Anything hostels in Japan is really clean. I love everything about this place. They speak good English as well. The receptionist are kind and helpful enough. All the amenities are good and fresh
Also, people there are all very sincere, they will mind their own business. I was speaking to some of them, and I made some friends. There'll be a lady cleaning the room every morning too
Cocts has one of the friendliest hostel staff ever! I appreciate being treated by friendly, helpful and curious staff. They also recommended me places to go when I had no plans
I really appreciated the 11 AM checkout. The soundproofing was good, and the mattress was very soft and comfortable. For the price, it's definitely worth it. Recommended!
Out of the three similar guesthouses around 20,000 won I've stayed in recently, this one felt the most welcoming. They even give you matcha donuts for breakfast
Honestly, before coming here I was a bit worried of luggage space and etc. But they have a locker, a locked room where you keep your lugagges in your room

Tokyo, 4 Chome-21-2 Kuramae, Tayto, 111-0051 Tokio, Yaponiya (5 km from centre) 🧭 Map
The room lights were broken, and the soundproofing and light-blocking weren't great. However, the overall environment was clean and tidy, the bathroom and shower were comfortable, and there's a coffee shop downstairs
Very cool and peppy environment. The staff are very helpful and speak English. The hotel ( or a dormitory) has various options like bunk beds and regular rooms for families. The cafe is open to local visitors too
I stayed at a single room, which is enough for me at really affordable cost. And its near kuramae station, so it’s easy to get around.
I just stayed at this hostel with my friends from April 10th-15th, and it was a fantastic experience, especially for a short trip
Good value for money but we stayed in a room that was the size of the bed :)
Focus Kuramae is great as always, my first stop for Tokyo by far.

Tokyo, 2-22-2 Asakusa,Taito-ku (6 km from centre) 🧭 Map
It's difficult for me to be objective when my stay was made excellent by so many different things, but I'll try. The staff speak enough English to help you settle in. Their attitude towards foreigners is also really nice
I'm a fan of games, anime and otaku culture, so I spent a lot of my time out in Akihabara. To get there, it's two stops west on the Tsukuba Express, for which the station is actually the closest one to the hotel
Just south of the temple is where you'll find the confusing cluster of buildings and tunnels referred to as Asakusa Station. Lines are spread out among three different companies and it's hard to walk between them
You can't expect to have an in-depth conversation about movies, but you can expect to be treated with respect and valued as a guest. You will not be made to feel stupid for not knowing the language
You have space to walk, sleep and store your stuff. I was very tempted to invite some friends over to play videogames, but it is important to note that non-staying guests are explicitly prohibited
If you're confident enough to eat at local businesses, you really should. There are many small restaurants and food stands all over the Asakusa area and everything you can get is delicious

Tokyo, 2-31-6, Kiyokawa (7 km from centre) 🧭 Map
With JR and subway access, it's quite convenient to get to other places. This time, I discovered that about a 15-minute walk from Minamisenju, you can find the super-secret Minowabashi Station on the Arakawa Line tram
No issues at all, apart from the small room size. The price was good, and even though the single room didn't have a private bathroom or toilet, the shared facilities were very clean and rarely used
Two stops from Nippori Station, about a ten-minute walk from the station. There are supermarkets opposite the accommodation and outside the station. The room is small and basic, just enough to open a large suitcase
A large blanket is provided, which makes for a comfortable sleep. The environment is very clean, and there's a microwave and hot/cold water, but no conditioner. For this price, there's nothing to complain about
The room was spacious enough for 1 person, i can open my 28 inch luggage there easily. For the price that i paid, i can say it’s worth the price. One thing that i like, it’s equipped with mini refrigerator
The location is excellent, with a large supermarket and several convenience stores nearby. It's also just a 5-minute walk to both the JR station and a subway station

However, the hotel is situated in the middle of an entertainment district, so walking through that area in the evening was a bit of a downside
The location is perfect right in the center and close to everything. The capsules are definitely on the smaller side and a bit tight but they are clean and comfy for a few nights
It's a really nice place, feels too good for that low price (it's so cheap o. The place is clean, modern and has all the amenities that you will need, including a cozy shared space where you can eat your noodles
I like to visit art museums in Ueno Park, so the best access accommodation (guest house) Almost all the calls on the street at night? Is it a friendly city where you can always talk to people from It might not be recommended for people who are afraid of that kind of thing
It's a really good hotel; the location depends on why you're going, but it's right in the middle, almost equidistant from everywhere.
Great spot if you just need a simple place to crash while exploring the city

It’s pretty good place, close to station the utilities also nice and pretty and its also near to supermarket and morning market, the staff also nice and pretty good at service and can also speak in English,so I recommend to someone who gonna come with a few friends and especially solo traveling, might come again soon
Stayed in a decent, clean capsule hotel at a very affordable price. The location was fantastic – in a very quiet neighborhood, yet only a 10-minute walk to Akihabara. Transportation was quite convenient overall.
Conveniently located within a 10-minute walk of both JR and Toei subway stations. Although the front desk isn't 24/7, you can request self check-in, which is very convenient.
Thanks for you facility’s and care’s :)The Bed is good the staff always change its like 2. 5M the size so pretty much enough
I had a great time in here. And chap. I want to come again!
Nice little capsule hotel. Walkable distance to metro.

Tokyo, 6-59-3 Arakawa-ku Higashi Nippori (6 km from centre) 🧭 Map
Rooms (we had a shared 4 bed dorm) are clean but cozy, less privacy as expected. If you want to stay close to JR Nippori station, it's a good choice, but we would stay at another place next time
I was lucky as no one snored that affected my sleep. One thing I feel inconvenient is if you have lots of luggage. I carried all the valuables with me all the time
You can stay comfortably. The upper bunk bed is also a staircase type, not a ladder, so it's less stressful.
Close to JR Station, but if you want to use the Subway, you have to walk up to 10 minutes. There are no towels and check out is early at 10am
Cheap and clean!!! Location near supermarket and kombini. I wish they fixed and clean that laundry room upstairs. The mold is kind of scary
Very cheap, but be careful about making noise because the beds are next to each other. The journey is not far from the train station. People with a lot of luggage are not recommended because it is not a private room

Just bring an extra blanket! 😊 Kitchen, bathroom, and shower areas are all very nice! Bathrooms are stalls and shower areas are western style - think a very very nice public pool shower stall! The reason I'm leaving this review so long after the fact is that my friends and I are planning another trip to Japan in the coming years - and this hostel was the first place I thought of to recommend to them...
Rooms are somewhat small yet more than reasonable for the price. Great place just outside of Tokyo if you're looking for cheap yet quality. Staff are incredible helpful and all speak at least a little English
We had to make a last minute booking due to our other accommodations falling through after our plane had already landed! We arrived late at night but the staff on hand were all very kind and helpful, and someone on staff spoke english which made our stressful situation much more comfortable
The key to Shibamata FU-TEN Bed and Local in my opinion is knowing what to expect. Accommodation here is very reasonably priced. The kitchen, bathrooms and showers are immaculately kept
This hostel was just what we needed after our last hostel. Shibamata Fu-ten is lovely and spacious with plenty of tables and places to sit and the kitchen is large and well equipped
Staff speaks English really well so no problem with communication, also super helpful. We had to reroute our wifi delivery and also sent our luggage out, staff was very helpful

It's a little way from the station, but if you're familiar with Ikebukuro's otaku stores, like Animate and Otome Street, or even if you're a road junkie like me, you'll probably be familiar with them after just two visits
Remember to remember your email password. The male staff speaks Chinese. There's no elevator, so it's not convenient for people with luggage. There's a common area on the second floor
Only shampoo and shower gel, hair dryer, and disposable paper slippers are provided, but no towel rental is provided. Therefore, you need to bring your own towels, toothbrushing supplies, and facial washing supplies
If you really don’t have it with you, you can buy it from LAWSON or Daiso. The saloon on the second floor is the only place where you can eat and drink, and both the refrigerator and the kitchen can be used
The day of check-in was a Saturday, so many girls left the next day. There were many people packing their luggage and dressing up on Saturday night and Sunday morning, so it was quite noisy
Basically, 11:00-15:00 is the cleaning time in the museum. First change your shoes at the entrance to the second floor and then go to your bed. There will be a form to fill in on the bed

I really liked the place quite comfortable stay. Nice staff members and it get cleaned everyday. Its not far from a trainstation so you can easily go everywhere.
Acceptable cleanliness. Great value!
The other rooms I heard house multiple bunk beds and a shared bathroom. It's very close to restaurants, public transportation, and convenient stores. Smoking area is right in front of the entrance
Unfortunately The cafe/bar/lounge area was always occupied for private events so was barely ever open which is disappointing and the location is far from the attractions

Therefore, it's best to contact the hotel to confirm your reservation. As compensation, they upgraded me to a single room for the first two days and a double dorm for the next two. The bathroom is located in the basement
Great price for such a room. The staff were very pleasant and welcoming, it was a pleasure to stay. It felt like visiting a hospitable family. A great option for an overnight stay. It's located in a great area!
I booked a double room, but Ctrip said it was for one adult only. In reality, it was a double dorm room, suitable for two people. This was a misleading information provided by the hotel on Ctrip
Shampoo and shower gel are provided, but towels are not. Washing machines and hairdryers are available for an additional fee. Free coffee is available on the first floor in the evening
Hot and cold drinking water is available throughout the day, along with cups. Toothbrushes and toothpaste are not provided. The restrooms are shared and basic, located on each floor

Cheap, small and far from Tokyo but if all you need is a bed and a shower its not bad at all. The host is pretty quiet but is a nice guy. Other guests were quiet when I was there.
But at this price, what did you expect? As in most guest houses, you get what you pay for, and in this case you didn't pay much, so don't come complaining. This guest house is not for tourists or families
Let's be honest: this is spartan lodging. The rooms are small, the bathroom isn't too clean, it's a bit far from the station and from the city center, and there isn't any damn convenience store around
It's best enjoyed when you already know Japan and don't expect anything more than a bed and some company. If you speak the language, the owner might just take you on a daydrinking tour around Ueno
Tourists, families and those seeking a comfortable stay: stop trying to save every penny and book a real hotel, or you'll end up disappointed
Cozy hostel, lovely owner. Not the best location, rooms are good enough for 1-2 nights. Good price, quite area. Recommended!

If you're only staying for one night, it's comfortable! I used it to check out the place I'm moving to The building itself seems to be old, so a certain degree of age is acceptable The showers are shared, but it seems like each room has a bathroom, which was nice
Apartemen near from Subway station and supermarket, cheap, clean, and comfortable
This place is only about 2-3 minutes walk to the train station, but the location is quite far from the city center, so it usually takes a long time to travel
When I arrived at 10pm, there was no staff there, but there was a sign near the entrance, so I followed the instructions to get the key and enter the room
I planned to go out and explore Japan all day, so I actually just needed a place to sleep at night, but this place was better than I expected
There are convenience stores and restaurants in the area, so it's very convenient. You can bring food and eat in the shared space

I like it very much. It is close to tourist attractions and the price is not expensive. Suitable for people who use trains in Tokyo. The owner is very kind. There is bread, boiled eggs, and coffee in the morning. 😇
Jiji is an absolutely wonderful man! Adore him🥰 Thank you a lot, Jiji, i had so many good memories!! Jiji was making us breakfast every morning (and provided some beer in the evening hehe), which is super cute
During the morning he prepares breakfast for everyone, and in the afternoon the chances are high that he'll invite you to chat with other people in the dining room. Best hostel I've stayed in Japan by far ❤️
The grandfather is very enthusiastic. He is 80 years old but still talkative. If you can speak Japanese, you can have a great chat. He will give you travel advice. The place is also very convenient
The location is 10 of 10, I personally was walking from there to all the main locations like Imperial Palace Gardens, Ginza, Akihabara, Ueno and once even to Tokyo tower and Shinjuku (took about 1
