Reasonably best price in range of nearby hotels. But no WiFi and towels in the rooms. A
Horrible horror.
Previously, the Kazachka Hotel was a good, cozy place, with a beautiful view of the mountains. Now all that remains is the view of the mountains, which with such service is simply not worth it.
The new owners decided to rename the hotel Altai business hotel 😂, it’s funny. Business at the hostel level.
Let's start with the price, now they are charging as much as 12,000 tenge for a standard room. For what? Absolutely nothing in the hotel has been improved since the change of management or owners. The same furniture, the same broken beds, the same chairs and the same broken toilet lid. All the same old TVs from the last century, picture tubes. Instead of cable TV (as before), now guests have access to as many as 4 state channels, which no normal person would ever watch.
The lighting in the room is economical; the 5-arm chandelier has only 2 lamps. Double-glazed windows perfectly let the cold into the room, because the balcony door does not close hermetically.
Once upon a time, the hotel had excellent cuisine and food, the portions were large, the salads were huge, the food was delicious, the prices were wonderful. The menu was not large, but there was a choice. Food was brought to the room.
Now (2021, December) it's just rock bottom.
Look at the photos of the menu, where did they even get these terrible names for dishes from unknown cuisine? It feels like I walked into a roadside cafe in Zharkent or Khorgos. Having looked at this ugly, mocking menu, it was decided to go to dinner at the Sunkar hotel (it is located just 10 meters below the eco-post). They have great food, prices and service. If you are also disappointed with the Cossack cuisine menu, don’t waste your time, go to Sunkar.
To summarize, I will say that Kazachka, or Altai (as they renamed it), is absolutely not worth the money. This level costs 1000-2000 tenge per day, but not 12,000.

I liked the hotel overall. Although in the mountains, of course, everything is cool. A bit old. But in winter it is warm here. Food for a solid 3. It was a little noisy at night, but we were there on holidays. We will most likely come again. Let's try saunas
