Rokna Hotel, St Julians1 / 17Good price
7.6
Malta Island, St Julians, Church Street, Paceville 🧭 Map
Staff is so friendly and helpful. Had a very bad night sleep due to road works just in front of the hotel but apart from that nothing to complain about. Would definitely come back
Great and comfortable hotel located in central Paceville. We stayed here with our infant son, they provided a crib, and had amenities like beach towels and converter plugs available. Delicious breakfast and great pizza restaurant attached. For the price, it's a great place to stay while touring around Malta.
We usually stay here when we come to Malta as it's almost in the middle of everything. The sea is 3 minute walk away. Any pizzeria is almost 3 minutes away, and if you want to eat at the Rokna anyway, they have a restaurant with great selections. Free parking for 1 hour. It's right across the street from the Hilton Hotel. Gift shops are very close. Bus stop even closer to take you to Valetta, Sliema...
Better than staying in Valetta is staying around any hotels in St.Julians bay.
Average hotel. Need some serious maintenance. Never accept the first floor rooms, you will get all the noise from the street...
Malta's oldest pizzeria well worth a visit. It may also Malta's smallest elevator. The rooms are worn and the electrical plug require adapter.

“Point de Vue is in a fantastic location just outside the gates of Mdina and close to the attractions in Rabat. The hotel was clean and well maintained. The rooftop offers a wonderful view. Its Asian restaurant serves delicious, impressive food. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended.”
We have stayed at Point De Vue guesthouse for part our annual holiday to Malta and Gozo over many years. It’s a well run, friendly, family owned business offering good service and value. Feels for us like a second home. The location is perfect for visiting the Silent City, Rabat and pretty much anywhere around Malta. There is a bus stop just outside and another further up the road with regular buses...
Right next to Mdina—perfect location for an early morning or evening stroll through the streets of this ancient town. Delicious breakfast included. We’d definitely stay here again!
We are about to leave Point de Vue, following a ten night stay. For us, this guesthouse was just perfect. The situation is amazing, so convenient for Rabat and beautiful Mdina. Also, easy access to the rest of the island. The guesthouse is just the kind of accommodation we seek. Comfortable, friendly and characterful. We stayed in two rooms, front and back. We preferred our back-facing room, with Maltese...
Small touches that make a difference. The tables outside the bar are always dirty despite the many people working there. The room, however, was clean. Polite staff.
The hotel was very popular, and the breakfast was great – freshly baked bread and fried eggs, very fragrant and delicious. The staff were also very friendly! It's right next to tourist attractions, which is really great!

Perfect place for a budget stay. Slightly dark but clean rooms with the bare necessities for cooking available as well. Location is good enough, especially when you are travelling by car as you are a 20 minute walk away from the city centre (parking is free on the street outside but you might have to walk a bit due to scarcity of place). The best thing about this place is the friendly and helpful staff...
Lovely hotel, nice area, absolutely no complaints it’s not a massive posh hotel but it’s definitely not as bad as some of the reviews I’ve read. Great views and very convenient location. Would definitely recommend and I would come back again.
Simple. Good ratio cost-room. Great pool
We stayed here 10 days. We only use hotel as a base. We never spend time at hotel so it was good for us. Maid came on day 2 ... we didn't really need her then as not long arrived.. and we never saw her again. On day 8 towels were becoming a bit smelly so we asked at reception for some fresh towels which we got. Bathroom .. shower was very powerful and plenty of hot water... grout and mastic were...
Convenient hotel with a very nice pool. Close to several convenient stores.
We were here with my fiancee 4 times. Very good kitchen, nice atmosphere, live music and almost every day there was an offer of 3,4 courses like Malta night, all you can eat night and etc. Good prices and service.

Steep 1/4 mile walk to bus route and out of the way. Local area run down and dirty. Roads and pavement uneven and not suitable for disabilities. Staff friendly. Rooms outdated and worn out but kept clean. Beautiful sea view from our balcony. Breakfast ok but you need to be early, as food goes cold and runs out. TV but no English speaking channels. Pool closed during our visit.
I have booked this hotel for 2 nights and requested double room and far from the elevator, non of my requested was attended. The rest was okay, breakfast was fair to the price paid
No shops or restaurants anywhere near this hotel nearest a good 10 minutes walk breakfast is okay and free water supplied but no fridge in the room.
Visited here on October,The room was pretty decent and location was outstanding the ocean waves and birds literally the best morning view one can witness, the staff was nice n friendly, wasn’t too impressed with breakfast but meh 7/10
The staff were very kind and the view from the hotel was amazing. The price was reasonable, so if you're looking for a quiet place to stay in Malta, this hotel is perfect! There's also a cat living nearby.
Yes all good, room cleaned daily and air con was a must

The lady desk (I guess she is the owner), very friendly and helpful, the check in process very smooth, the best part is this hotel have a swimming pool and attached with the restaurant, the restaurant have a delicious pizza, friendly staff and affordable price, I should come again, just a night at Malta is really nonsense, at least 3 days, I missed Malta already
It's out of season so a lot of facilties closed but we wouldn't expect otherwise tbh for the bargain price. Rooms clean, bed comfy, staff friendly. Breakfast was OK (extra but cheap). As the saygoes yiu get what you pay for. In summer would be good with pool etc.
I would stay there again for sure, the location was great and the cafe bar near the pool was incredible, with a sea view. Also the restaurant is fantastic.
Suprisingly better than expected this hotel is less than half the price of most and you get a lovely sea view. Rooms are the cleanest ive ever stayed in and ive stayed in 100s you will not find a spec of dirt anywhere not above a door frame behind the bed on a light fitting. Staff are amazing very friendly and helpful. You get a discount at alot of local bars and restaurants when you stay here too
Exceptional service we had during our stay at sensi hotel for a week. Room super clean. Highly recommend ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐The gentle womans attending this hotel where super friendly! We will go again for sure. Memorable experience for my birthday. Thank you SENSI
One of the best things about this place is Linda, who waits on you in the pool area. While you relax and swim she's serves with a smile, nothing too much trouble. Foods brilliant too! She's a real asset to sensi

The staff was warm and friendly. Our room overlooked the grand harbour and from our balcony we could see the boats pass by. We also had a clear view of the firing of the cannon Close to everything
The setting of the hotel with many rooms looking out onto Grand Harbour make it an exceptional place to stay which is further enhanced by the rooftop patio where one can enjoy refreshments whilst soaking up the exceptional ambience. The staff and service are excellent and the hotel is maintained to a very high standard. Whilst close to the centre of Valletta be prepared for quite a few steps and slopes
Small hotel but Great location and views of the harbour/across the bay, we upgraded to a harbour view as people had said it could be noisy the city side in hotels in valletta, not sure if this is true or not. We had two extra enclosed balcony areas, one for luggage and the other looking over the bay with a table and 2 chairs, were we could open the windows and sit with our drinks watching the ships...
I just came back from my stay in Valetta! The location of this hotel was very good, also beautiful view from the rooftop. The room was also very clean and spacious. Big thank you to Shaun at the reception who was super friendly and helped us figuring out what to do in such a short time (1 day). Only negative point was the breakfast which was okay but could have been much better!
Ideally located, old school but clean and tidy, all the staff were very polite and helpful especially sean on the front desk
Would love to stay again! This place is just lovely! The stag was nice, it was clean and updated but authentic. It's in a perfect spot if you want to catch a ferry or go for a harbor cruise. We even had a amazing view of the harbor!

This was an odd one. It used to be a 5 star hotel, and has the fittings and fixtures to show that, but half is now run as a hostel 🤷🏼‍♂️ Reading reviews before arriving there are some horror stories. There was an issue with the air con leaking from the ceiling when I first got there, but this was sorted and fine after that. The room was big and pretty nice and the balcony, with a view of Valletta was...
Could have been better. Uk plugs sucks so I had to buy an adapter to charge my phone. The 8bed room has no lockers only a wardrobe. The view is amazing and the bed is comfortable. For the price is recommended
The hostel offers very good accommodation with a very cheap rate. The rooms are spacious and clean. The staff is very polite and confident. I have a very good experience once. Hope to visit again. Maybe because it used to be a hotel, there are much more than an ordinary hostel. The hostel is located by the sea and to various transportation facilities are connected on your demand. First time in Malta. The hotel was more expensive than I expected, so I stayed here because it was price-conscious. I read a lot of reviews and got some information before staying here, but the facilities were as good as I expected (lol). The room was a little dusty. The shower had weak water pressure, and the toilet and shower doors were a little broken. But the location was good and the price was...
The location is perfect! All needed bus stops are in 4min range. Starbucks is just behind a corner, also huge Welbee's supermarket is 5min away by walking. Breakfast was also really nice and for a 2 star hotel and this price, better value doesn't exist. The walls are a bit thin and you can hear sometimes people from nearby room or hallway.
I stayed for 7 nights in a row and was upgraded to a quadruple room. However, the room was quite old and a bit dusty. However, the breakfast was good and the price was affordable. The location is outside the bar street at night, which is very lively.
Only the front rooms has balcony and big Windows, otherwise the rooms are small and has tiny window. The refrigerator is old and ineficient , the door barely can be closed . The walls and the carpets are too used , ugly spots on it . It need quick renovation !! The personell is kind ,helpful , they clean the room everyday If You need , change towels and sheets daily .
It was a great budget hotel, super close to St Julian's streets, and with friendly staff, especially the night guys. However, it DOES NOT have Wi-Fi, and I had to spend 50 Euros for my Roaming Data. Thus, when considering this hotel, if you plan to stay at least some hours in the room, calculate how much roaming would you pay per day - and if it results in booking another, more expensive hotel, then...

Fantastic location in the center of Valletta. Real Maltese experience! The team is very kind and do their absolute best to accommodate all your needs and beyond. Fully recommend! Thanks to Elena and Walter
A characteristic old Valletta home, now turned into a pleasant B&B. The people were delightful and looked after us very well.
Great and central place to stay in Valleta. The host is very attentive and helpful. The building is historically old but but well preserved. Rooms are great and clean. Breakfast is adequate and very filling to last you through out the day. Bring from "British plug to whatever socket you have adapter". Only small complain is the slow water pressure in our room. I got there very late, no staff available but very good communication via WhatsApp. Able to stay overnight in a very nice and clean place. Bed was very good. Breakfast was provided. Loved it!
First, let me say that the room is close to the airport and clean, which is why we booked it. But the “king” bed is not even a queen—it’s a full, and it was self-check in, when I filtered for hotels. I wanted a front desk. Instead I got a text with instructions for how to access the keys. The owner is nice enough, and again, the place was fine. But it was way too expensive for self-check in to sleep...
Nice room, great breakfast before early flight, big bed, AC works properly. A lot of towels, cozy atmosphere. 20min from airport by foot. Somebody smokes in the hall.
Children are not allowed in the hotel, so I didn't check in, and a lot of the information was unclear, and I couldn't cancel even if I contacted the hotel or Ctrip. I won't choose this hotel next time.
Bus around don’t work till July 4th, and the government don’t make clear notice. So be prepared to take taxi to Valletta if live here. Other than that, very nice place and the owner Marvik is an awesome guy. Malta government should do a better job.

Very clean place . Highly recommend
Our second stay at Urban Valley. We were allocated a very large suite and noticed a few missing touches as far as toiletries. Staff were very pleasant throughout.
This hotel was super clean, I originally booked a corner suite room for me and my mum , my husband joined our trip last minute and the receptionist accommodated a family suite which had 2 rooms with double beds, living area and kitchen on the day for extra cost but I was grateful they had offered a bigger room. an impressive experience! Thanks so much to Rose and Maggie for their kindness and help on everything, the room is very clean, people are very friendly and nice. Sunshine, dry grass smell, river bridge and pomegranate won’t be forgotten forever. A small suggestion is to add more kinds of food for breakfast Amazing! The whole family love it so much!
Hotel is fine. Location is central but not easily walkable — fine if you have a car. Rooms are somewhat basic but very spacious. Lovely pool. But WIFI is terrible. Door lock was a pain to open — had to keep playing around with the card a few times. Gym is a small room but useable.

I checked into the EuroClub hotel yesterday and my stay in the hotel is unknown since my flat is currently undergoing a thorough renovation. From the reviews I've seen, I was waiting for a bad experience, and I was somewhat confused. The staff were nice and professional. The rooms were clean, and the bed and pillows were hard, but I prefer that. Decent Guesthouse Quirky Guesthouse 100 metres from the waterfront of Sliema. Got all the basics if that is what you want. Ultimately, 'Cheap and cheerful'. would recommend to the solo traveler just looking for somewhere to sleep and nothing fancy.
We are mother and 9 year old son and we travel a lot. Before booking we read some negative reviews and were curious to understand what we would find. We found a wonderful house that thrilled us, a spacious room with freshly laundered sheets and a fan, always clean bathroom and shower with a washing machine available and a bright kitchen with everything you need. Traveling with a child is not easy if...
Good value not for me Good sized room and genuine staff. Unfortunately I did not enjoy my experience at this property due to the strange decor.
Now, Five Trees was okay. The bed i had was comfortable, even though the sheets seem very old. A few things I have to say -throwing used toilet paper into a trashbin rather then the toilet doesn‘t really meet my european standards and i found it kind of gross, especially because the bathrooms are shared. At least they are cleaned regularly. - I had the orange room with no AC, just a fan. For me, that...
The house, together with the friendly staff, feels like home. The house is very well maintained (extensively cleaned every day, very fast repairs when necessary, e.g. a power outlet was fixed within a day). The staff is very responsive to requests (or even providing services you didn't request, e.g. providing an extra pillow and an anti-mosquito device). The room is good for working on a laptop; it...
Our room was spacious (purple room). And the bed was comfortable with clean bedlinen. So that was positive. But the lock of our room door didn't lock good. The bathrooms were not up to my standards. And i didn't see any staff during my stay.

I stayed in this hotel in February 2025 and I was very happy with the service. The room was basic, but clean and quiet - that's all I really need, and the bathroom was very modern and clean, with a decent shower. The night time receptionist was a very pleasant man who I enjoyed chatting to. He was due to attend a funeral in my home city of Cardiff a few weeks later - I helped him with regards to the...
Stayed here for a few nights, could have probably been worse. We found two thumb-sized cockroaches in our room and we didn't have any warm water coming out of the showers. Even though the breakfast was the same every day, it was good enough to start up your day. Location doesn't really matter on Malta, since everything is packed in pretty tightly. One morning the fire alarm was screaming at us for...
I stayed at this hotel in March 2023. Overall, it’s a solid place. The rooms are a bit older and the furniture didn’t leave the best impression, but everything was clean and functional. Comfortable apartment, good service, well equipped and it was quite close to every thing, parking in the area wasn't too bad but the place has parking but remember to book it if you need it
Nice and quiet place. Grocery shop at the door steps. Very close to Sliema promenade. Perfect for families with kids.
Very good location. Close to seaside bouleveard, restaurants, cafes and bus stops. Good grocery store on the other side of the street. In the apartment which we were renting (7th floor) there was a issue with water pressure and there was a bit too little natural light as for our taste. Overall, we can recommend though.
I cannot praise Depiro Point enough. I fly out regular for business and always request to stay here through my company. The staff Eloise and Heather are always so friendly and ensure my stay is welcoming and they cannot do enough for me. We are actually becoming friends. Would definitely recommend to anyone who is looking for a central location in Malta with staff who will bend over backwards to...
Good size rooms, well equipped kitchen, comfortable bed. Apartment was very clean. As its on a complex can be a little noisy. Ours was top floor so got the sun on the balcony, lower ones probably not so much. Depending on position views may not be much although our rear balcony did have a nice view of St Julian's. Easy walking distance of St Julian's bay and Sliema. Good bus links.
