ALEGRIA Caprici Verd in Santa Susanna

Travelled to watch my daughter play football in a local tournament. Great hotel- room was spacious modern and was great. Hotel was spotless, lots of areas to hang out. Pool area was fab lovely pool plenty of loungers. Dined half board - food was great. Staff were amazing and couldn’t do enough. Great location - opposite the train station to explore the coast.

Nice hotel, I would stay there again, if the price was right. Certainly not 4* but solid 3*. There was one super multilingual guy on the front desk who was very knowledgeable. The rest of the front desk staff were polite. One older gentleman in reception "Guarding" the entrance door was a battle ax. the rest were lovely. Housekeeping staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were big, plenty of storage. OK balcony, though we had a car park view. ** Be aware only One side of the hotel gets sun on it, we were constantly in the shade. Your could see the sea but only barely. Note, one dispenser in the shower with soap, not shampoo or conditioner ... not 4*. you did get a couple of very small bars of soap. We stayed in early October. The sea was warmer than the outdoor pools. One indoor pool, bring a bathing hat. Never saw this used, it was beside the restaurant and I would say you would feel like you were in a glass bowl. You need to book it. Food was good though lukewarm served on cold plates. Lots of options though, and the salads were great. We were fully inclusive for meals and wine with lunch / dinner. Other months may differ but if you were a couple there in October I would say the dining room would be a nightmare. Lots of large groups and very loud, felt like a school canteen. Hated that there were only two hot drink dispensers for coffee / tea in the morning. Big wait to get your coffee. NO coffee available in the dining room at lunch or dinner which I thought was pathetic. The bar is expensive and has long queues. Bar staff are not pleasant. Super location at the beginning of the *****. Close to the beach (6 /7 minutes walk) underground tunnel. Close to the train station 3/4 minutes .. however if you are leaving very early or late you go through the back entrance so leave an extra 5 minutes to get to the train. Seemed to be lots of entertainment if you wanted it. Good live music at night in the inside lobby. Nearly always a few people dancing. There is a very helpful Tourist office across the road that will help you with maps and train tickets. There is a monthly train ticket for €20 - particularly if you plan to go into Barcelona, this would be worth getting. Note if you are doing the Barcelona open bus tours there are four routes, run by two companies. Make sure you know your hop on stop as it is not obvious. Figueres by train takes about 80 minutes great Dali museum. Girona is worth a visit. Blanes is a lovely town, two train stop away & then bus into town. Really a good base to visit lots of places.

Almost don't want to tell anyone else about this amazing find of a hotel.

Understated perfection.

50ft from the railway station, which you never notice. Mini market directly outside. Indoor and outdoor pools, both with jacuzzi's and hardly anyone here at the end of May. Caters for B&B, half and full board (all inclusive available). Buffet meals which are really well stocked with lots of choice. Prompt friendly service everywhere in the hotel from bar to room service.

We really loved staying here and we'll be back.

Lovely hotel with super staff and good facilities. The hotel itself is slightly dated however it's clear that the bathrooms have had a facelift recently. I would say
for value for money stay it is worth it. The staff are incredibly sweet and really make your stay nice in all aspects. The breakfast is ok but what I would expect. If a coffee machine was in the room it would be better. Would return for another long weekend. The pool area is fab if not a bit loud with all the activities
