I had a good impression of the hotel; the location was good, the service was excellent, and the breakfast was acceptable. However, for me, it was a very unpleasant stay. I specifically requested a room with a balcony, but upon check-in, I found it didn't match the room type and didn't have a balcony. The hotel is located in the old town, making it very convenient for sightseeing and finding restaurants. However, the hotel view isn't very sunny, the rooms are rather dark, the carpet isn't very clean, the towels are old, and the hot water in the bathroom is inconsistent (sometimes hot, sometimes cold). Aside from these issues, everything else is excellent.

The hotel is certainly in a lovely location and staff are very welcoming! This is the 2nd time we’ve been, this time we paid a lot more for a smaller room, with a bed that was very uncomfortable the bedroom was tiny. This is the third year my daughter and I have been to Hotel Coronado - planning a fourth!! - we cannot fault this deservedly 5 star hotel. To get to the cathedral, you need to take a bus. It takes about 30 minutes to walk. The hairdryer and shower had sufficient water pressure. 🚿 We were allowed into our room even though it was before check-in time. We hade a great holiday at this hotel in March 2026, playing golf and the bedrooms were great, great breakfast and good service. The golf courses were excellent and a little bit difficult. We were lucky with the weather for golf, although the sun was not so much. Over all a great hotel and location. We also took a taxi to Marbella and had a great time there for dinners.

We stayed in October when the hotel was relatively quiet. The evening menu/restaurant was very nice. Daytime menu a bit limited. Did not try the breakfast. Hotel is nice and welcoming. I think it’s a good 4star rather than 5 star. It’s quite grand but a little old fashioned inside. Pool and pool bar area was great for the time of year but I’d imagine would be too small at peak time.

It's a shame that so many groups of golfers are staying at the hotel and don't respect the other guests! There's a lot of noise and beer at the pool, and also noise in the hallways when they come back at 2 a.m.! They should be grouped together in a separate wing of the hotel so as not to disturb the peace and quiet of the other residents.

The environment is fantastic, right on the main shopping street, making it super convenient to get around. You can easily walk to Plaza Mayor and Puerta del Sol, and there are tons of great food options nearby. Oh, and the hotel breakfast is amazing – easily one of the best in all of Madrid!

Stunning hotel with excellent facilities. We were offers a room upgrade and enjoyed a junior suite. We were on B&B board basis and this was lovely with lots of tasty options. We used the padel court and yoga classes which were fab! Would definitely return

All the staff made this stay excellent. Only 2 small grumbles, as this is a 5* hotel. Room had no Electric shaver socket, also woyld be nice if the room had USB pirts for charging cables. Everything else we absolutely loved. We will be booking again 👌

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The staff were very good, rooms were lovely, public areas clean tidy and not too busy, there are plenty of sitting areas and the food was excellent. The location is good, in a quieter area but with bus stops not far away to take you anywhere you want to go. Wonderful one night stay. Pity roof top bar and Amora restaurant closed in early week. Champagne on arrival, wine in room. Spacious and nice decor. Japanese style toilet great. Had couples massage in Spa, wonderful. Only Buffet restaurant open - reasonable value at €30. Drinks in general reasonable for a 5 star property. Will be back!

Fantastic stay at the Lava Beach hotel. The 5 star rating is truly justified. Rooms were large and well finished, robes and slipper included. We were upgraded from garden room to Junior pool view room. It was very spacious and spotless clean.

We just went to the restaurant which is very spacious and has seating indoors and outdoors and by the pool. Food was tasty, they could increase the portions since price to portion ratio was pretty high.
