Gran Garbi in Lloret de Mar

Run down old hotel definitely not 4 star more like 2 stars . No kettle in room even when I asked for one , poor food selection see pics, 45 e for a safe in the room which had a key rather than a code , old bedding with cigarette burns in it, weak ac with no control, all inclusive options very poor, black mould in bathroom, booked through love holidays who couldn't care less about the issues, transfer from airport to hotel took nearly 3 hours would avoid. PS full of French people .

This hotel has been not but big disappointment. Upon booking you look at the pictures provided - beautiful rooms - splash park- playground - big buffet ,however, upon check in you go to your room that is so dated , beds are camp beds , bathroom had tiny bath tub that hardly fit an 8year old child with legs bend … cracked tiles , towels with holes , not the cleanest . All entrainment adversities for kids is not there unless you book between June and 1st week of September , we have sadly a found out at check in that aquapark is shut from 14th September which was not advertised when we were booking in . Playground is literally a tube with a shape of caterpillar and that is it . Throughout our 7days stay kids disco happened only twice for 30 minutes each . And there was no other kids activities . Food wise also a big disappointment very basic , very little to choose from , very bland , also not catered for children , and to get a piece of cake was nearly impossible, we managed to get 1 slice of cake on two occasions and once the cake was still frozen . They put one cake at a time with all people wanting the cake and were not replacing when gone . There was also a lot of young adults tour groups checking in . They were loud , very loud , banging on the doors , shouting and partying at the balconies and corridors and those walls are not very sound proof either . This hotel certainly is not family friendly and catered for young people that only care about partying. Unfortunately this stay with this hotel has been nothing but disappointment and for that price to feel like an intruder through your stay is just sad . I wanted my children to have an amazing time , luckily the weather has been fantastic so the beach has saved the trip although one rainy day we were stuck in the hotel with nothing to do literally. I would avoid this hotel at all costs especially if planning to go with children . Also the area leading to the hotel when wet is extremely slippery. I very rarely leave less than 4* reviews however this stay was just one pricey disappointment and no positives that I could put.

Rated as a 4 star, would give it a 2 star at the most. Very dated rooms and decor, damp and mouldy bathroom with cracked tiles, dirty not cleaned. beds are camp beds, minimal facilities. The man with the magic camera has been again, the pool is small with very few sunbeds. NOT suitable for disabled or visually impaired people, uneven surfaces inside and out, slippery decking to the outside pool area. Food is limited choice and basic/bland. No entertainment during the day, didn't hang around for the evening show. Will not return, nicer hotels in the area for a few quid more, worth searching.

Very Disappointing Stay – Rude Staff & Poor Service

I stayed at Hotel Gran Garbi in Lloret de Mar and unfortunately had a very poor experience. One of the worst moments was when a staff member shouted at my 10-year-old son and made a scene in front of the entire restaurant, embarrassing both of us. They then spoke to another staff member in Spanish, clearly knowing they were in the wrong. About 10 minutes later, they came over and apologised — but the damage was already done.

There are hardly any sunbeds available, and if you’re lucky enough to get one, don’t expect to move a chair nearby. I was told off just for putting a chair next to a sunbed so my partner and I could sit together.

The food was nothing special, and most of the bar staff were just as rude. On more than one occasion I asked for ice, and they simply walked off and ignored me. You can only get one drink at a time, which means you can’t even order for your kids. There’s no pool bar at the main pool, so when you go inside for a drink, you get told off for coming in wet. One tall, bald staff member was particularly rude — he even seemed to threaten cutting off a family member’s wristband, which was completely unnecessary.

That said, there were a couple of lovely bar staff — the lady behind the bar was always polite, and the man with the bun was friendly and helpful.

When booking, it clearly stated we would get a double bed, but we were given two singles pushed together. The rooms themselves were okay for short stays, but not ideal for a bigger family — and they were far from perfect. The toilet in our room was broken, and the shower head was faulty, falling on our heads more than once. Everything felt a bit dodgy and in need of maintenance.

The only real positives were the lovely staff who cleared the food plates — they were polite and friendly — and the maid on the 2nd floor who cleaned our room brilliantly every day. I didn’t catch her name, but she was amazing.

I also want to give credit to the water park staff — they were fantastic. One of our family members got hurt, and they were quick, kind, and professional in helping them.

Overall, the negatives far outweighed the positives, and the experience was stressful rather than relaxing. I would not recommend this hotel.
