Run down old hotel definitely not 4 star more like 2 stars . No kettle in room even when I asked for one , poor food selection see pics, 45 e for a safe in the room which had a key rather than a code , old bedding with cigarette burns in it, weak ac with no control, all inclusive options very poor, black mould in bathroom, booked through love holidays who couldn't care less about the issues, transfer from airport to hotel took nearly 3 hours would avoid. PS full of French people .

Booked in a hurry!! Wasn't 'cheap' though, for last minute!! (＜48hrs) We arrived very late (4am) due to flight delay. I had to wait until the next day for a safe etc. The fridge in the room was plugged in but locked!! Made a right noise!! There were no drinks in the room (water), which I've had in most 3 star but definitely 4 star!! Had to pay at reception for some water. Finally asleep around 5am. 9.18am the maid was banging on the door!! She was so aggressive and rude!! Went to reception for safe key and pool towels. The pool towels were room towels and they were tatty!! Not white, at all!! Stained/marked! Gross!! When we changed them, we were given towels that I assume were what guests had left!! I wish I'd have taken a photo!! They were kid towels, football team towels and one can could only be described as a tasseled rug!! The restaurant!! We had breakfast twice. It was basic and poor!! The wait staff and the egg cook, were all really lovely, polite and helpful. We ate one evening meal but again, I've stayed and ate at better 2 and 3 star accommodation!! Second morning, the maid again, banging on the door and came back 3 times, all before 10am!! She said, 'No clean today' & tapped her wrist, I assume about time. This continued throughout our stay. The final morning, we had to be out of the room for 10am and she banged on the door again at 9.15am!! She was ruthless!! The air-con wasn't the best either. Very weak. The balcony was dangerous. Huge trip hazard steppinh out but when you were stood on it, it was on a slope and you felt like you were leaning/falling! The bathroom was small for the amount of things in there!! You couldn't open the door properly due to the size of the sink unit, it always banged into the bidet. It was a relatively short stay but it's made a lasting impression and not for any good or nice reasons!! I would generously rate this a 2 star hotel, at the most.

Very Disappointing Stay – Rude Staff & Poor Service

I stayed at Hotel Gran Garbi in Lloret de Mar and unfortunately had a very poor experience. One of the worst moments was when a staff member shouted at my 10-year-old son and made a scene in front of the entire restaurant, embarrassing both of us. They then spoke to another staff member in Spanish, clearly knowing they were in the wrong. About 10 minutes later, they came over and apologised — but the damage was already done.

There are hardly any sunbeds available, and if you’re lucky enough to get one, don’t expect to move a chair nearby. I was told off just for putting a chair next to a sunbed so my partner and I could sit together.

The food was nothing special, and most of the bar staff were just as rude. On more than one occasion I asked for ice, and they simply walked off and ignored me. You can only get one drink at a time, which means you can’t even order for your kids. There’s no pool bar at the main pool, so when you go inside for a drink, you get told off for coming in wet. One tall, bald staff member was particularly rude — he even seemed to threaten cutting off a family member’s wristband, which was completely unnecessary.

That said, there were a couple of lovely bar staff — the lady behind the bar was always polite, and the man with the bun was friendly and helpful.

When booking, it clearly stated we would get a double bed, but we were given two singles pushed together. The rooms themselves were okay for short stays, but not ideal for a bigger family — and they were far from perfect. The toilet in our room was broken, and the shower head was faulty, falling on our heads more than once. Everything felt a bit dodgy and in need of maintenance.

The only real positives were the lovely staff who cleared the food plates — they were polite and friendly — and the maid on the 2nd floor who cleaned our room brilliantly every day. I didn’t catch her name, but she was amazing.

I also want to give credit to the water park staff — they were fantastic. One of our family members got hurt, and they were quick, kind, and professional in helping them.

Overall, the negatives far outweighed the positives, and the experience was stressful rather than relaxing. I would not recommend this hotel.

There were pros and cons. The pools were nice, but the water was very deep which wasn't ideal for us with young children. There were about 30 sun loungers for a hotel with 500+ rooms. The water park area was really good. The canteen food was fine, but very busy and long queues for each station. There were good choices for meat eaters but almost 0 vegetarian options, even most of the salads had meat in them. All the staff were friendly, with exception of the hotel manager. The rooms were cleaned every day by really lovely cleaners, but unfortunately we found our room had bed bugs. The manager reluctantly agreed to let us change rooms, but to a cheaper room and at no discount. He refused even to help us move our bags. He found the situation very amusing and was super rude.
The rooms are tiny, we had a family room, which was 4 single beds pushed up against eachother to squeeze into the room. Paper thin walls between neighbouring rooms, so you can hear everything!
The entertainment was good, our kids loved the kids discos.
The hotel is situated in a party area, so its really, really loud at night. If you're a young person looking for a party holiday you'll love the area, but we found other the towns nearby much better for families.

I travel quite often and never came across such a non pleasant 4 star hotel. The rooms were not clean - a lot of hair on the bed sheets, finger prints and dirt all over the bathroom. Food wise - a lot of selection but most stuff are tasteless to say the least, tables are dirty and the weirdest thing, after a few nights, they stopped letting certain people fill water in the machine they have in the dining room (same with the juices they had there). What made me write this review is actually the weird request to stop brining bags to the dining room - meaning small bag with money, medications or anything important had to stay in the hotel room. Super weird and bad service overall. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND, there’s many better options around the area.
