Hotel Maremagnum in Lloret de Mar

Read carefully and look at all the photos before booking. We do NOT recommend this place for family, friends or single person, for the following reasons:

- we paid 464 euros for 2 nights (including 14e for the cat, without parking), it's too expensive for a 1-star hotel with supposedly "economic" double rooms when we had paid 330 euros (last August!) at Ribas hotel 1 star close to this place. Here, the rooms are tiny (7m2... even when I was a student, my room including bathroom was 9m2!!). It's shameful at this price.
Beware, the photos on the official website and Booking give the illusion that the rooms are large while they are super small. Also, there are not enough shelves or hooks in the bathroom.

- EVEN WORSE, the bathroom is 1m2 and the toilets are located just under the sink. Our children had to go up to the toilet to wash their hands. In addition, it's dirty especially the toilets. My daughter caught cystitis. It is also impossible to do your hair and get ready in the bathroom without having to touch the toilet yellowed by urine, it's disgusting. We have never seen such a bathroom configuration in our entire life, we are talking about a European Union country, not a Third World country!

- another thing, the manager accepts animals (charged 7e per night) but the rooms are not large or bright enough to accommodate an animal, poor animals. In addition, we had to put the cat litter in the toilet and therefore we no longer had space to go to the toilet.

- Non-functional hot water tap in room 106, unpleasant shower.

- The view from the rooms overlooking the gutters and heat pumps, was beautiful.

- The television is much too high and inclined upwards (not adjustable) it was not pleasant to watch TV. The manager doesn't seem to know that there are installation standards for a TV on Google.

-Icing on the cake, you have to leave the accommodation at 10am while all our reservations this year and in the past, it was 11am minimum. We appreciate that our rooms were ready before 3 p.m., but if we had known that we had to leave the rooms at 10 a.m. like thieves, we would have preferred to check in at 3 p.m. and leave at 12 p.m. We could not enjoy our last evening in Lloret de Mar because we had to get up very early.

- the rooms are soundproofed. Slamming doors, people talk loudly in the corridors all night, impossible to sleep well. No rules of noise and behaviour are respected. The supervisor does not do his work at night.

When we made the remark to the manager about the toilets, she kindly offered us to change rooms the next day around noon, but we had only come for 2 days and we were not going to come back from the beach just to change rooms especially since she had initially put us on 2 different floors. For a family, we plan in advance 2 rooms on the same floor, it's common sense ;)

In conclusion, we do not recommend this hotel for anyone. Next time, we will book at the Ribas Hotel where we will save 100 euros(!!!) and we will have a bathroom worthy of a 1-star hotel ;)
