Not a 4 star hotel! Absolute disgrace of a room! No coffee machine no tea kettle, old old rooms, tiny bed, this bed is not a queen nor king size. False advertising for the Spa, there is no Spa! Indoor pool does not mean Spa....avoid

Disappointed – One Staff Member Ruined an Otherwise Decent Stay

I recently stayed at Hotel Num, and while the hotel itself looks nice and has average facilities, my overall experience was disappointing due to two major issues — one incredibly rude staff member and the very poor breakfast.

Let’s start with the positives: the hotel seems to have been recently renovated to a modern standard. My room was clean, comfortable, and generally pleasant. There’s also a small rooftop pool, though it's often far too crowded to enjoy properly, with only a few loungers available — not ideal if you're hoping to relax.

Most of the staff were absolutely wonderful — friendly, helpful, and professional throughout my stay. Unfortunately, all of that was overshadowed by a shockingly negative interaction with Ellie at the front desk on my final day. I hadn’t dealt with her until then, and I genuinely wish I hadn’t. I asked her for a simple favor — to call my bus transfer company as I was unable to make calls from my mobile. She bluntly told me it wasn’t her job and refused to help. I asked if I could use the hotel phone — again, “no.” I asked if someone else could assist me — “no, only me.” Her tone and attitude were incredibly rude and dismissive, completely out of place in a customer-facing role.

To be clear, every other staff member I encountered was helpful and welcoming — Ellie was the only exception, but a very significant one. It's unfortunate that someone with such a poor attitude represents the hotel at reception. She genuinely left a bad impression at the end of my trip. With better training, perhaps she could reflect the same level of professionalism as her colleagues.

Adding to the disappointment was the breakfast — easily one of the worst I’ve experienced at a hotel in this price range. The quality was low, the variety almost non-existent, and it felt more like an afterthought than a proper offering for guests. Definitely not worth looking forward to in the morning.

It’s a real shame because the hotel has potential — nice rooms, decent location, and great staff except for one. But when that one person is the last face you see on check-out and actively refuses to help a guest in need, it really drags the entire experience down.

I won’t be returning, and I wouldn’t recommend Hotel Num until changes are made
