🌍
Spain, Salou, Av. de Joan Fuster, 3

Guests appreciate the varied international buffet and plentiful snack options throughout the day, often highlighting the food as better than typical for 4-star hotels in Salou. The pool area is spacious and well-maintained with plenty of loungers available without crowding, though some mention the need to replace worn parasols. Staff outside of some restaurant employees are frequently described as friendly and helpful, especially housekeeping and bar staff. Rooms are cleaned daily, with fresh towels and linen changes available upon request, and suites offer additional space with two bathrooms. The hotel’s location is convenient for walking to the beach, PortAventura, and local shops. Multiple reviews report unfriendly or rude behavior, particularly from certain restaurant waitresses and some reception staff. The indoor heated pool charges an additional fee (€6 per 2 hours), which some guests find inconvenient. Noise issues are common, with thin walls allowing sounds from neighboring rooms and corridors to disturb guests. The hotel is heavily frequented by large groups of children’s football teams, leading to overcrowding at meal times and noisy atmospheres. Some guests experienced maintenance issues such as malfunctioning air conditioning, unpleasant odors in rooms, and inadequate cleaning of children’s play areas. Accessibility complaints include poor paths around the hotel and limited accommodation of mobility scooters despite some adapted rooms.

I absolutely loved my stay here and was meant to return this year but sadly chose Benidorm. This year I'll be sitting with a absolutely beautiful Calippo slushie as I walk down the stunning beach

Subject: Dissatisfaction with the Restaurant Service

Dear Hotel Team,

As loyal guests of your establishment for several years, we have always appreciated the quality of your welcome, the professionalism of your staff, and the excellence of your cuisine.

However, during our most recent stay, we were deeply disappointed by the behavior of two restaurant waitresses, Merche and Yohanna. Their attitude was consistently cold, distant, and lacking in courtesy. They do not greet guests, ignore our salutations, and show a clear lack of availability and helpfulness.

Such behavior is unacceptable for a hotel of your standing, and it unfortunately spoiled the atmosphere and enjoyment of our meals. It stands in stark contrast to the level of service we have always experienced in your establishment.

We sincerely hope that these remarks will be taken into consideration and that a reminder of the basic standards of politeness and hospitality will be given to the two waitresses concerned. The rest of the staff, however, remains beyond reproach.

We would like to emphasize that the quality and variety of the meals remain excellent, but it is regrettable that such poor service should undermine the overall experience.

We look forward to seeing an improvement in this regard.

Kind regards,
Guests of Suite 5215

We have stayed at 4R Regina Gran 6 times over the past few years. Our most recent visit was October 2025 Location: We got a private transfer from Reus Airport and only takes approx 15 minutes. Hotel is within walking distance, and pretty much flat, to the following: Supermarket/shops (5-10 minutes) Beach (15 mins) Portaventura/Costa Caribe (20 mins) Cambrills (30-40 minutes) Rooms: Can be doing with a little updating...but they are clean & sufficient. Good showers & hot. Beds comfortable. Room cleaned daily, towels changed daily if you want. Bedding changed weekly, or on request. Maids are lovely & very helpful. We had a suite for 4 of us...has 2 bathrooms. Restaurant/Food: Clean & staff very attentive. Always plenty to eat with good variety. Sometimes food not as warm as I would like (I like food roasting hot)...there is a microwave behind counter for use. You don't need to ask...just use it. And it is clean. Pool: Fantastic size pool. Area around pool cleaned every morning. Plenty of beds no matter what time of day. Pool parasols & stands could really be doing with getting replaced. Some are in a sorry state. We bought our own Parsol for approx €12.00. Pool attendants no bother at all. You are allowed Floaties/pool noodles/balls etc. When pool gets quite busy they asked you not to use very large floaties, which is understandable. Salou is a beautiful resort with lots to do if you want. Mostly on the flat, so.great for anyone with mobility issues. Our favourite things to do are: Portaventura Theme Park Costa Caribe Waterpark Downhill Mountain Biking House of Illusion Catamaran Boat trip Shopping (big shopping mall in Tarragona) & can get bus to Barcelona. My only negative review of 4R Regina Gran hotel is how many kids football clubs stay here. They are, rude, very very noisy and have no consideration for anyone around them....and their accompanying teachers/staff do not care. And now unfortunately, for this reason, we don't see ourselves returning to this hotel, as its getting worse every year.

This hotel is not disabled friendly. When we booked into the hotel i was instantly chastised due to my wife having a small mobility scooter which she is dependant on, and was told it couldn't be used in the hotel as it was not safe for other guests (fair enough). Our travel company had asked for a low floor, close to the lift room, but we were allocated one 3 floors up and almost as far away from the lift as you can get. The brocures show an indoor pool/spa area, be aware that this is charged at €6 per 2 hour stint. The hotel is not close to the beach, as there is no direct route and takes 15 minutes to walk to. The path round the front of the hotel is in poor condition, not suitable for prams or disabled people. Meal times are a feeding frenzy, none if the staff bother about food lying on the floor, and young children are allowed to help themselves (I have no problem with children being allowed to learn, but some of these kids couldn't see over the counter. There were also 7 prams in the restaurant on more than one occassion, 2 of which insisted on sitting opposite each other and completely blocking the aisle. Food was ok, but often cold and lacking variety. The cleaning/making up of the rooms was excellent, however our room had a distinct odour of stale cigarette smoke from previous occupants. Pool area was always kept clean, but note that inflatables are not allowed. Some people may find it ok, but not to my taste.

We booked this hotel earlier in the year and we were really looking forward to it. That was until we came on here and looked at the reviews afterwards, so we were really expecting an awful experience. However, I'm glad to say there was absolutely nothing negative about our stay! * Hotel Location * The hotel is in an ideal location as it is not too far from the beach, bars and restaurants in town, so you are shielded from the noise with the option to go explore jjst a 10 minute walk away. You are also only a 20 minute walk from the Port Aventura Theme Park. *Room* The hotel room was very clean upon arrival, well stocked with fresh towels and toilet rolls every day, as well as the bedding being changed and made. Though we did not require it, a safe is available but this likely costs you extra as there was no key. We just locked our valuables in our case every day (hey, it was free!) It can get rather noisy at night with people coming in and out of their rooms and slamming doors instead of closing them quietly, but that is their fault and not the hotel staff's. I sleep with ear plugs anyway, so this wasn't too much of an issue. *Dining* We were half-board. The reason they request that you bring your paper room card is so that they can mark on your card which of the dining services you have used that day (Breakfast & Lunch, no Dinner // Breakfast & Dinner, no Lunch // Lunch & Dinner, no Breakfast) which is only fair, as you haven't paid for all 3 so shouldn't expect to get all 3. The staff are very attentive, taking drink orders at lunch and dinner (self-service juice and coffee machine not available during these times, breakfast time only) quick to mop up any spills and will clear tables once people are done. It is a buffet during each service, so you should expect to queue for some of it though it doesn't take a long time for you to get your food. There are brief descriptions above each meal choice (chicken, beef, fish etc) and the food is replaced very quickly once empty, so it always feels fresh and hasn't been left lying out for a long time. The types of meals do change every night but the odd staple of chips, bread rolls etc are a daily occurrence. Perhaps they could play some music at a quiet volume to add some ambience, that is my only critique. *Pool* The doors to the pool are not opened until 9am. The pool area's operating hours are 10am until 6pm, though a disclaimer mentions that you can access the pool outwith these hours but it is at your own risk i.e. there is no lifeguard outwith 10am-6pm. The sunloungers are stacked at the end of each day to allow the pool cleaner to jet wash the tiles every morning (this turned out to be necessary when another guest had too much to drink and proceeded to vomit next to their lounger and didn't bother telling any staff) so you will need to grab your own lounger and place it where you like. Thankfully, there were no mad dashes or sunlounger wars we've all become accustomed to seeing on holiday.

Food good with plenty of options and rooms clean. 2 stars because staff dont smile at all and get annoyed when you ask them to do their job, asked for an ice cream and waiter got annoyed at the fact that more people joined the queue behind me, shaking his head and giving me a dirty look, sorry I made you work for your money. All inclusive ends at 11pm....unless youre Spanish then its free drinks whenever you want, they look out for their own, when questioned about this, staff suddenly didn't understand a word of English. Good luck getting a goodnight sleep, we were here for 10 days and not one full night's sleep, people were banging doors and slamming about, walls are paper thin, you can hear everything, every conversation, alarm, toilet and tv being used. The French that are there have zero consideration for anybody else; singing in the early hours of the morning and will barge their way in the line for the food.

The hotel food was very nice but the staff are rude and very unfriendly. They seem to hover around waiting for you finish and make grab for your plate. On several occasions even when I hadn’t finished.

Just spent 10 nights at this hotel. I've enjoyed my stay here.
Food was nice, but a bit same everyday.
Some of the staff were nice, but to me it seemed a few weren't very happy in their jobs. Which in my opinion doesn't make for a good atmosphere especially for holiday.
I didn't spend much time around the hotel as I did a lot of day trips to other cities so used this as a base.
The rooms were tidied everyday. Clean towels etc.
Meal times in the restaurant were complete chaos. People tripping over each other. Oh and God forbid that you don't have your card with you to enter the restaurant despite the fact that you have an all-inclusive wristband on. (It's like queing to get into a nightclub without any I.D)
To conclude the hotel is not perfect, but if you're on a budget then come here.
