Hotel Best Cap in Salou

My wife and I have been staying here during the 1st week of October for the last 8 years (kids are grown up so it's a quiet break for us both on our anniversary). The staff are always very helpful and polite(even during meal times when they always look stressed). The rooms are small and basic but cleaned on a daily basis (leave the towels on the floor in the bathroom and they are replaced). There is a hairdryer but no kettle. The TV in the room only has basic Spanish/German/french channels.
There are 3 pools , 2 are at the front with a pirate themed mini waterpark for the kids and the main pool is around the back . These all have bar areas with the main pool also serving snacks.(This pool is always busy and you have to be quick to get a bed). The beach from the main pool is a lovely little spot to spend the day just relaxing.
The food is adequate with a a variety of salads, meats, fish . Burgers hotdogs, pizza and chips is ideal if you have kids with you. There are a few restaurants in this small quiet area and the range of foods and prices are very reasonable.
Going left from the hotel after the mexican restaurant is a lovely 30min cliff walk to the main town with fantastic views (not suitable for prams and people with disability),this is also where the bus stops are to get to the main town and other areas with a small shop selling excursions.
The bars in the area are friendly and have sports on daily if you want and also provide a variety of foods.

Came with 21 family members here now, 2nd time in salou 1st time at dorada palace , food isn't the best here and location, few bars and restaurants outside the hotel, taxis into salou are expensive in my opinion. Mobility scooter are ok and it's a lovely ride into salou 20 mins along the beach front. I would come back but self catering. Rooms cleaned every and staff are lovely. Pools are warm.lovely beach and sea . Bus stop 5 mins walk to top of the hill
