Hotel California Palace in Salou

Does exactly what is says on tin and you get what you pay for.
The staff are very pleasant and it has a lovely pool area that is very clean and very well maintained. The sun loungers are really comfortable and not the cheap white plastic thing you normally get.
Yes the rooms may need a little update particularly the Bathroom I had a shower over the Bath which whilst it didn't work very well wasn't an issue for me personally but stepping over that bath would definitely pose a problem for someone older.
Also there is no Kettle or anything for snacks in the rooms but again I'm nitpicking.
All round a good value Hotel in a quiet part of Salou , but it's only about a 15-20 walk to the Beach although the main strip is about 35 mins on foot.

I had a fantastic time, can't fault it I had room 108 which was a single corner room lovely balcony overlooking the pool, shower red hot, bed very comfy, so clean and quiet, some guests were complaining about noise, I never heard a thing, reception staff very friendly, breakfast was typically Spanish the worst bacon I've ever tried to eat and all luke warm, substitute then bacon with ham stick it in the microwave for 90 seconds, perfect, hotel is located in the old town 15 minutes from the front and 25 minutes from the strip, I preferred the old town but each to your own.

Great hotel with lovely room's fabulous pool area, aways plenty of sunbeds never have to do the early morning dash as nobody puts towels on bed's to reserve, very quiet pool area to sit chill read & enjoy the sunshine. Lovely friendly staff. It's a little far out from the crowds & rowdy pub's but ideal if you like a chilled out evening.

I stayed at the Hotel California Palace for 10 nights half board from late August to early September 2025, and I really enjoyed my stay. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was good with great taste and variety at both breakfast and dinner. Pro tip: it’s in Spain so expect elements of Spanish food on the menu. I walked most evenings up to the strip along Passeig de Jaume l towards Carrer de Carles Buïgas. The further you go up the busier it gets. It’s all fun. Great for visiting the many shops and just flowing along with the herd. Carrer de Barcelona along the way is also nice for retail therapy. This walking is good for your step count, as the walk takes about half an hour, but if you prefer, a taxi to the far strip is only about €8 from the hotel. There’s also a 24-hour supermarket across the road from California Palace which is handy should you run out of anything urgent. I had no trouble each morning getting a sun lounger by the hotel pool. Towels are rentable from reception at €10 each (refundable anytime). The safe in the room was a bit pricey at €25 for a week plus a fiver a day thereafter as well as a refundable €10 deposit. So in my case that was an immediate shell-out of €50 at check-in, as I did want the use of a safe. Ouch! Other than that I can’t really fault the place. Genuinely had a lovely time and would return if the opportunity arose. In fact when I went to check out I was told I could never leave😊

Nice hotel, spotless and clean .Bar staff were friendly. Food might have been more varied, but i think you can say that about a lot of hotels on this type of holiday.But all round enjoy my stay and would definitely return here again.

It was good there, I enjoy last week no problems, I up early that ok and the car was under me! No problem Stephen
