Hotel Amazonas in L'Arenal

I am very disappointed with my stay at this hotel. We booked it primarily for its proximity to the airport for an early flight, but the experience was completely unsatisfactory. The air conditioning was virtually non-functional, which made the room unbearable in the July heat. Furthermore, the shampoo dispenser was broken, the phone didn't work (forcing us to go to the lobby for every request), and the room’s cleanliness left much to be desired. To make matters worse, parking was a nightmare; there is no on-site parking, and finding a spot on the street required a 15-minute walk. I cannot recommend this hotel.

I stayed at the Hotel Amazonas from July 18 to July 20 and would like to share my honest feedback regarding my experience. Unfortunately, my stay was marked by several issues that significantly impacted my comfort and overall impression. The room was in poor condition - it had a strong musty odor, the bed was very small and uncomfortable and housekeeping did not show up at all during my stay. The noise level from outside traffic was extremely high so I was unable to get any restful sleep at night. Additionally, the check-in process was quite unfriendly and unwelcoming.

A major issue was the non-functioning Wifi. When I inquired at the front desk, I was informed that there was a temporary outage. Since I needed a reliable internet connection for work, I had to use my mobile data instead and ended up consuming 10 GB at my own expense - even though Wifi was clearly listed as included in the hotel amenities.

Given all these circumstances, the experience did not match the expectations based on the hotel's description. Had I known about these issues in advance, I would have chosen a different place to stay and I will definitely do so in the future. I tried to contact the hotel several times about my feedback within 4 weeks but all I received was an automatic response telling my that I shall wait patiently for a reply. Worst hotel I experienced so far, worst customer service I experienced so far, absolutely no recommendation to go there. Please be wise.

Great value hotel by day, a nightmare by night. As others have said the beds are rock hard, the pillows are paper thin and the hallways are incredibly noisy with people partying until early morning. During the day, the pool is nice and there is a quality breakfast. Everything is clean however there is little to no wifi. Also no beach/pool towels
