A bit far from the train station but it is reachable by taking a bus. The hotel requires a bit of uphill walk after getting off the bus. A bit inconvenient for carrying luggage and ski equipment. Room is a bit small. But it’s clean and provides all the essentials for a ski trip.

Good services and hygiene with tranquility

Zermatt isn't very big, and it takes about fifteen minutes to walk from the train station to the hotel. The hotel facilities are a bit old, and the elevator is quite vintage, but luckily it's well-maintained and very clean. I recommend it.

The hotel is about a 10-15 minute walk from the train station, uphill. If you have a lot of luggage, take a taxi. The rooms are clean, the staff are very friendly, and the breakfast is delicious.

We picked this hotel because it has some rooms with a view of the Matterhorn. The staff were very friendly, the hotel is super clean and the beds are comfortable. It is quite a hike to the hotel from the train station so you may want to take a taxi to the hotel with your luggage. Breakfast was good and breakfast room had big picture windows with a view of the Madderhorn.

I was so glad it was a bit away from the town center, although it was only 15 min walk away. With convenient electric bus, going around was so easy. And the fact that you have no other building between your room and Matterhorn, what more would you want. I want to go back there again soon even with exorbitant price in Switzerland.

We LOVED the Hotel Plateau-Rosa! It's really near the Glacier Express gondola which was just a short walk to get to and fun to watch go over while sitting on our balcony with wine and snacks in the evening. Extremely clean and I thought it was very good for the price. Nothing too amazing, but very spacious room and I can stay comfortably.

Nice hotel but the only setback is i booked 2 rooms but one room without lift which i need to hand carry up the stair case Also no kettle been provided, i guess this is basic requirement. It's just a 7-minute walk from Zermatt train station. Breakfast starts at 7 AM. The hotel is clean and quiet, and it has an on-site restaurant. There's also a large supermarket conveniently located right next door.

We stayed as a couple and found the hotel to be small but incredibly cozy. It's conveniently located just a 5-6 minute walk from the station and right on the river.

Hotel Sarazena is an amazing and the perfect place for a family of 4 in Zermatt. The most magical hotel I have stayed at. This is probably a solid 3 star hotel but was a 5 star experience. Location can't be beat, service was efficient and friendly. And the room was so unique, so comfortable. The hotel is the white house shown in the first picture. The room was quite small, but the breakfast was decent and pretty abundant. It's located in the middle of town, close to the church. Overall, the value for money is alright. Zermatt has tons of hotels, so there are many choices, but very few are available for booking on Ctrip.

For 10 years we stayed at the same hotel in Zermatt, was always our “home,” however when an offer comes up at 180chf less for 2 nights we decided to wildcard it - did not regret at all. It's a bit of a walk on the way back. It's more convenient to call a car. If the weather is cold, I recommend calling a car to go in. The bed is small and nice.

Stayed here to acclimatise before climbing the Matterhorn. Friendly staff, great dinner and decent beds. Small things make a difference - having a few extra plugs in the dorm room for charging phones made it nice and convenient.  Great location - especially during Summer when you can side outside and have a coffee or beer, with a direct view up to the summit of Matterhorn.

‘Hotel Schwarzsee’ is one of the places to stay if you like to be close to the Matterhorn. From here you can hike early up to Hörnli Hütte. We took the Gondola up to Schwarzsee and stayed overnight. Location is convenient, 5minutes walk away from zermatt station. The biggest turndown is that no kettle is provided in the room. We requested from reception desk but she mentioned that they will bring it to our room ONLY IF available, as expected the kettle never arrive.
