Hotel-Garni Plateau Rosa in Zermatt

Truly a very well mainted and kept Hotel. The location is almost perfect close to the skilift and with a beautiful view on the Matterhorn. The staff is really friendly and helpful. We asked for a third bathrobe and they brought it in less than 5 minutes. The sauna is small but has a cozy window and chill out area. The breakfast buffet is rich and delicious. Amazing bread and cheese. Probably one of the best hotels in Zermatt at least for this price! Definetly recommend it.

Where do I start?! I’m so happy I went with Plateau-Rosa for my birthday trip! It was exactly what I was looking for - quiet, relaxing, and with a great view of the Matterhorn.

I was warmly greeted by Pierre at the front desk and shown to my room, which was tidy, bright, and had a large balcony.

Location-wise, it’s about 20 mins walk from the train station though there’s a bus. I didn’t mind walking as I got to look around. The hotel is located right across from the cable car station so ideal for heading up to Glacier paradise. You can also go for a hike on the hill across from the hotel (I snapped a pic of the hotel from there).

The spa with sauna is tiny but really comfy - I guess I benefited from going during the offseason!

Breakfast options were great especially the various Swiss breads you could try and the staff there was always kind and helpful.

If returning to Zermatt or recommending to someone else, without a doubt I’d recommend Plateau-Rosa!

We picked this hotel because it has some rooms with a view of the Matterhorn. The staff were very friendly, the hotel is super clean and the beds are comfortable.
It is quite a hike to the hotel from the train station so you may want to take a taxi to the hotel with your luggage.
Breakfast was good and breakfast room had big picture windows with a view of the Madderhorn.

I was so glad it was a bit away from the town center, although it was only 15 min walk away. With convenient electric bus, going around was so easy. And the fact that you have no other building between your room and Matterhorn, what more would you want. I want to go back there again soon even with exorbitant price in Switzerland.

We LOVED the Hotel Plateau-Rosa! It's really near the Glacier Express gondola which was just a short walk to get to and fun to watch go over while sitting on our balcony with wine and snacks in the evening. The room was very comfortable and beautiful. Great view of the Matterhorn!! Breakfast was included and delicious! The hiking trail to Z'Mutt was nearby and great. We hiked the Matterhorn Glacier trail, which was amazing! The Hotel staff were really friendly and helpful. We had 3 nts and wish we would've stayed longer!

An incredible Matterhorn view room — the deck was amazing! Room and beds were clean, and the staff was super lovely, even letting us store our bags after checkout for one last hike. Walking distance to everything in town and convenient for local buses. Perfect spot for enjoying the mountains.

A brilliant hotel with very friendly staff and great views. It’s a bit out of town which is brilliant, but only a 20 minute walk from the station or you can just get the free bus on the green route. Perfect location for the Matterhorn gondola, only a 30 second walk!

The Hotel was very clean and have a very good location near the Gondola station.The breakfast was very good and Personal staff together with the Manager very kind.The bus station to visit the downtown its right from the Hotel. Highly recommneded
