Initial thoughts were apprehensive as we walked through the fish market but as soon as we turned the corner there was no smell at all. Very handy to all shopping. The hotel has a lovely atmosphere with rooms upstairs fronting a balcony that you can sit on and watch the inner courtyard. Lovely ambient non-intrusive music during the day with a live three piece band playing in the evening. Again we did not find the music intrusive. Staff were very professional and obliging. Would definitely stay here again. An easy and flat 15 minute walk to train station and an easy flat walk to Konak pier and clock tower.Basmane train station takes you right to the airport train station in approx half an hour then it is just up the escalator and turn right for a minute or so.

I went back to this wonderful hotel, this time with my wife, and had a great stay.
Their breakfast is rather basic but the location and ambience is amazing. Reception was a great help showing me how to book intercity bus rides online.

Terrible Experience – Misleading and Unacceptable Service
I had an awful experience with this establishment. The customer service is absolutely terrible. There is no on-site parking; you have to carry or drag your luggage for 300 meters from a paid, unsecured parking lot. They don’t even have a toilet available in their lobby for guests.
The photos on their website and booking platforms are completely misleading. Our room reeked of smoke and was poorly insulated, allowing noise from the nearby restaurant to disturb us.
To make matters worse, the receptionist (or a young person claiming to be the manager) was incredibly rude and dismissive. We decided not to stay due to these issues, and although they initially promised a refund, they refused to honor it when we insisted on leaving. This was all recorded.
When we asked for a written statement confirming the refund, they threatened to call the police and escalate the situation unnecessarily. The unprofessionalism and lack of respect for customers were shocking.
I strongly recommend avoiding this place at all costs.

This place is magical! If you want an ancient vibe in the middle of a Bazaar World, this is the place to be! It’s like Aladdin energy. Coming from California, I wanted something historic & charming. This place was like a fairy tale. I highly recommend.

Given our short stay, the location of L'Agora was perfect. Nestled right in the middle of the bazaar and close to multiple modes of transport, it was ideal for exploring the old town on foot, and organising day tours out to Efes, etc.
The rooms were clean, comfortable and spacious. When we arrived, the concierge was kind enough to offer us the choice of 2 available rooms, and the staff were attentive throughout our stay.
The rooms are as they appear on the website. Every room overlooks the central courtyard, which has live music and diners until around 11pm. The windows are double-glazed and we were not bothered by the sounds but earplugs are advised if you have noise sensitivity.
Smoking is allowed in the central courtyard, and there can be a faint smell of cigarette smoke in the rooms, but that's something you generally can't avoid in the region.
A few people have complained about the shower being cold, but you just need to run it for a few minutes to heat up. The water temperature and pressure is incredible.
Overall, I would stay here anytime I visited İzmir.

Great hotel, parking 3min walking from the hotel (150TL/day) or you can park for free between 7pm and 10am behind the hotel.
It’s a charming place with a nice patio where you can get a nice dinner (with live music), rooms are very chic and the staff very helping, speaking a bit French, Spanish and great English.
In the heart of the bazar and only 10min walking distance from the sea, access to public transportation… the place to be!

A hotel experience full of class, culture and good vibes. With a beautiful courtyard and charming ambiance, this hotel provides you with the best experience of Izmir. Being perfectly located in the Old Bazaar means you can walk everywhere but also secluded enough to feel like you are not surrounded by the busy market. There’s live music and the food is sensational. It’s a great place to be.
The staff are actually what made this experience most special.
They were so friendly and welcoming, offering suggestions for places to visit, open to chatting and worked so harmoniously as a team across, the board, from housekeeping to kitchen staff. During our recent stay at this hotel, situated right in the lively bazaar, I was pleasantly surprised by the charm and comfort it offered. The hotel is a real gem, perfectly integrated into the surroundings.

We have gone there because of the restaurant, we had an amazing time and the atmosphere was good, because we were a group of 5+ people they keep us on the up side of the place and the waitress was not attentive to our table, while all the middle tables were having 4 persons to give the services
