Four Seasons Hotel in Miami

Two stars (and that’s generous).

I have stayed at Four Seasons properties all over the world. This was, without question, the worst service experience I’ve ever had at any Four Seasons — made worse by the fact that it occurred during a once-in-a-lifetime wedding weekend.

This property was chosen for a multi-day wedding involving over 150 guest rooms, private event spaces, and hosted events. Given the scale of the booking, proper planning and execution should have been guaranteed. Instead, the service failures were constant and inexcusable.

On the wedding day, the groom rented a private ballroom so his closest childhood friends could gather for a long-standing tradition before photos and the church ceremony. Clear instructions were communicated multiple times for the room to be stocked with liquor, mixers, water, ice, and food.

At 12:00 PM, we arrived to:
• No drinks
• No food
• No mixers
• No water

After repeated reminders, staff eventually delivered two bottles of liquor, a fruit plate, and an ice bucket barely large enough for one person, and told us the rest was “on the way.” It never came.

Over an hour passed with nothing. We then ordered 10 iced espressos.
Thirty minutes passed — nothing.
Another hour passed — still nothing.

With only 30 minutes left before leaving for the church ceremony, someone had to physically escalate the issue to concierge. Only then did the drinks arrive — nearly two hours after ordering — followed immediately by a check attempting to charge us.

Attempting to charge for service that took hours to arrive, after failing to deliver what was promised, was not only inappropriate — it was insulting.

The pool party later that weekend with 100+ guests was equally unacceptable:
• Drinks took 30–45 minutes per round
• Food took up to two hours
• Orders arrived incorrect
• Staff appeared overwhelmed and disengaged

Waiting two hours for a salad, only to receive it incorrectly, during a hosted Four Seasons event is indefensible.

This was not a “busy weekend” issue. It was a failure of planning, staffing, execution, and accountability.

Four Seasons is known for anticipation, precision, and excellence.
The Four Seasons Miami delivered none of that.

If you are considering this property for a wedding or large event, proceed with caution. The service did not come close to meeting the standards associated with the Four Seasons name — or the price paid.
