Reviews
The food is okay, but always the same. The staff at the reception is not very helpful (lacking English skills, not well-informed about anything).
There was not much for children.
hotel: it’s close to the beach, the gym is nice
room: imagine driving all night to the airport, flying to a different country, it’s hot and humid, you’re the last ones on the bus drive, you get to the hotel, you’re tired, sweaty and hungry, and the receptionist gives you the “my love” speech and sends you to another hotel for 2 days because they’re fixing the ac in your room. they pay for your taxi and go to the second hotel where the staff tell you that they don’t have any rooms available, and that they told that to your original hotel a week before. the second hotel sends you to walk with your luggage to your third hotel where you have a blast. after those 2 amazing days are up, your travel agency tells you that they spoke to your first hotel, and that your room is indeed ready, and they will send a taxi to come and get you. you take your things that aren’t even unpacked because what’s the point since you’re staying only 2 days, get to the first hotel, and the same receptionist gives you the same “my love” speech and sends you to your fourth hotel. i swear i’m not making this up, it’s as ridiculous as it sounds. her superior comes up and is kind of condescending when he speaks to us, as in what do you mean this is an issue, asks us to come to his office because at this point we’re making a scene in the lobby and people are staring. i’m talking kind of loudly to our travel agency on the phone because i’m angry, and this is not what we paid for, and it definitely doesn’t feel like a holiday at this point. our travel agent is outraged and wants to call the police and the consumer protection authority for us because this is the first time she’s ever heard of this happening and it kind of sounds like a fever dream. the manager has a day off so we can only speak to the superior who called us in the office (who i’m lowkey thinking back what were the chances that he was actually the manager???), and he keeps insisting that we weren’t even supposed to go to our second and third hotel in the first place, but to our fourth hotel where he gave us 3 (three) upgrades which i guess he was hoping we would be eternally grateful for, and that that will automatically fix our vacation. he even held up three fingers to make a point because obviously since i’m not overfilled with joy by this whole situation, i’m dumb enough to not understand what three means. thankfully, hotel number four was our final destination
food: we ate dinner here 2 nights and the food was nice, albeit the food choices were kind of random. the restaurant is small, easily overcrowded and very loud
staff: the restaurant staff were pretty nice, can’t complain, but when it comes to the my love receptionist and whoever the other man was, somebody from management better offer some better training in hospitality because it all felt like a big joke
Our double room was big enough with a nice balcony and AC included!
Cleaning was good and done every day.
Unfortunately, we haven't tried the pool, but many people did, and it looked great and very clean. The lobby is nice and cooled, which was great for the warm evenings with a good cocktail from the bar.
Highly recommending Captain Pier Hotel!
The room cleaners left the unpleasant impression that they had no desire to work. They just took out the small garbage bags without cleaning the rooms at all and without changing towels, sheets, etc. In general, the colored staff seemed very sullen and unfriendly.
At the front desk, the Russian-speaking receptionist was the most friendly and helpful.
