Description

Protaras St Raphael Villa is a modest 3-star aparthotel built in 1987 and renovated in 2016, offering 110 rooms spread across a 7-floor building. It sits just 50 meters from a public sandy beach with paid sunbeds and umbrellas, separated only by a road. The hotel provides a mix of room types including double rooms with and without sea view and junior suites with pool views. Facilities on site include an outdoor pool, a restaurant, bar, parking, and Wi-Fi available in the lobby. Families will find some childcare services on request for an additional fee, high chairs in the restaurant, and cots also available on request. The hotel’s location in the quieter Arkatzia Area places it close to bars, restaurants, shops, and an aqua park. While the breakfast receives top marks, guest reviews highlight varying experiences with service and room cleanliness.

Location

Located in the Arkatzia Area of Protaras, the hotel is approximately 2 kilometers from the town center and about 40 kilometers from Larnaca International Airport (LCA). Pernera beach, known for its clean sandy shore, is a short 140-meter walk from the hotel. Nearby dining options include Doma Restaurant and Pizza Hut within 300 meters. The hotel is also near a public sandy beach on the first coastline, just a road away, making beach access quick and convenient for guests.

Tips

  • Book rooms early to avoid issues with availability and air conditioning problems reported by some guests.
  • Bring your own beach essentials if you want to avoid paying for sunbeds and umbrellas.

The whole hotel was very clean. But you only get fresh towels and linen every three days! The bed is very hard.
The food is okay, but always the same. The staff at the reception is not very helpful (lacking English skills, not well-informed about anything).
There was not much for children.

i don’t know if i should give a review or not since we didn’t even get to stay here, but here’s my two cents

hotel: it’s close to the beach, the gym is nice

room: imagine driving all night to the airport, flying to a different country, it’s hot and humid, you’re the last ones on the bus drive, you get to the hotel, you’re tired, sweaty and hungry, and the receptionist gives you the “my love” speech and sends you to another hotel for 2 days because they’re fixing the ac in your room. they pay for your taxi and go to the second hotel where the staff tell you that they don’t have any rooms available, and that they told that to your original hotel a week before. the second hotel sends you to walk with your luggage to your third hotel where you have a blast. after those 2 amazing days are up, your travel agency tells you that they spoke to your first hotel, and that your room is indeed ready, and they will send a taxi to come and get you. you take your things that aren’t even unpacked because what’s the point since you’re staying only 2 days, get to the first hotel, and the same receptionist gives you the same “my love” speech and sends you to your fourth hotel. i swear i’m not making this up, it’s as ridiculous as it sounds. her superior comes up and is kind of condescending when he speaks to us, as in what do you mean this is an issue, asks us to come to his office because at this point we’re making a scene in the lobby and people are staring. i’m talking kind of loudly to our travel agency on the phone because i’m angry, and this is not what we paid for, and it definitely doesn’t feel like a holiday at this point. our travel agent is outraged and wants to call the police and the consumer protection authority for us because this is the first time she’s ever heard of this happening and it kind of sounds like a fever dream. the manager has a day off so we can only speak to the superior who called us in the office (who i’m lowkey thinking back what were the chances that he was actually the manager???), and he keeps insisting that we weren’t even supposed to go to our second and third hotel in the first place, but to our fourth hotel where he gave us 3 (three) upgrades which i guess he was hoping we would be eternally grateful for, and that that will automatically fix our vacation. he even held up three fingers to make a point because obviously since i’m not overfilled with joy by this whole situation, i’m dumb enough to not understand what three means. thankfully, hotel number four was our final destination

food: we ate dinner here 2 nights and the food was nice, albeit the food choices were kind of random. the restaurant is small, easily overcrowded and very loud

staff: the restaurant staff were pretty nice, can’t complain, but when it comes to the my love receptionist and whoever the other man was, somebody from management better offer some better training in hospitality because it all felt like a big joke

We were very disappointed with our stay at this hotel. We had booked rooms in advance, but when we arrived, we were told there was a problem with the air conditioning and our rooms were not available. Instead, they suggested sending us to another hotel, which was of much lower quality than what we had originally booked, even though we had already paid the full amount. When we refused this option, the staff did not agree to refund our money. This kind of service felt careless and unfair. I would not recommend this hotel.

We just came home after spending a week at Captain Pier Hotel. This is a really good 3 star hotel. The rooms were big and really nice and clean, The air condition worked perfect. The staff was really nice and helpfull. Bartender Antonis made the best pina colada, and Arnold and Irina made many good drinks and was so nice. The snack bar meny was the best snack bar meny I have ever experience, it was much better than a 5 star hotell. The food was good and they had different buffet every day. The pool was nice, but you need to wake up early to get the best places or in the sun as guest put their towels during the night even though it is against the rule. Only 3-5 min walk to the beach and it is some great pubs just around the corner and many great beaches not far from the hotel. We enjoyed our stay there and would recommend this to everyone.

We had a great time at this hotel! The staff is so friendly, the restaurant was great (we booked only breakfast). It's close to amazing beaches and restaurants but, at the same time, in a quiet area.
Our double room was big enough with a nice balcony and AC included!
Cleaning was good and done every day.
Unfortunately, we haven't tried the pool, but many people did, and it looked great and very clean. The lobby is nice and cooled, which was great for the warm evenings with a good cocktail from the bar.
Highly recommending Captain Pier Hotel!

I have to say thank you for the wonderful time we have had in your hotel. The room was very good and clean/modern. The location is amazing with 100 meters to the beach. The staff is very friendly and amazing! The only two things I have to say is the food. Please put less food and more local cuisine. We couldn’t see the food anymore after 2 days and we have had all inclusive. One other thing is that they had all the alcohol in the bar in plastic bottles and the wine from tetra-pack. If you try to save, then please hide those. Thanks a lot for everything and I can definitely recommend it!

The hotel is located on the second line, but still close to the beach. Our room had a nice sea view and a comfortable wide balcony. The food in the restaurant was varied and most dishes (with a few exceptions) were deliciously cooked. At breakfast they offered white sparkling wine which was a pleasant surprise. Unfortunately, the restaurant is quite cramped. Even though the hotel was not full in October, dining was an unpleasant experience because of the crowd. If you're just a little late for dinner, you'll have to wait to get a table. To avoid waiting, you must arrive promptly at 7:00 PM. Most of the time waitstaff looked frowning. They were perhaps not trained, e.g. they often rushed to get our plates before we had eaten our food and one waitress even doused my wife with grease when taking her plate. Only the two supervisors at dinner were trying to act friendly.

The room cleaners left the unpleasant impression that they had no desire to work. They just took out the small garbage bags without cleaning the rooms at all and without changing towels, sheets, etc. In general, the colored staff seemed very sullen and unfriendly.

At the front desk, the Russian-speaking receptionist was the most friendly and helpful.

Absolutely fine. Rooms clean and good standard and the pool clean. I'm disappointed with the food. Salads delicious but very simple but hot food average or worse and just the same offering every day No fish in a whole week! Service a strange mix of efficient but a bit harsh We were all inclusive and I asked for two small bottles of water this morning at 9 to be told only from 10:30!!!! They were in a pile behind the bar 3 feet away! As for the location it's good with some excellent beaches 15 mins drive away. I'd say cone here but don't pay for all inclusive and spend the difference out trying different places.

Such a beautiful and nice hotel, the stuff are super nice especially Petrina, she's just amazing. There's a news owner and it feels so fresh, they really do they best that you'll have a blast of a holiday. The hotel is renovated and spacious, amazing breakfast, we are now then happy, family of 5! Thank you

Good hotel. Clean, new and AC works very well. Pool is quite small and sunbeds run out early during busy season. But beach is just 2 min walk. 2 markets also 2 min walk. Staff is friendly. All Inclusive was good, same as lunch and dinner for most days.
