Lovely quiet base to explore Crete. Room cleaned daily, towels replaced frequently, adequate kitchenette for occasional meals. 20 minute walk to Malia old town- we were impressed with Odas and San Georgio tavernas. We arranged many trips with GetYourGuide who picked up a few minutes walk from the hotel. Nice clean pool, pleasant, well priced drinks and food bar, sea over the wall from pool area. Lovely helpful staff, a few hundred yards walk to shops and restaurants. Malia palace ruins 30 minutes walk. Sit in the garden with an ouzo and watch the swallows play, mountains in the background. Bliss

Pyrgos Beach Hotel is a lovely, quiet, family-run hotel right on the coast. We loved our clean, spacious room with a balcony and side view of the sea - waking each morning to the sound of waves on the beach. We really appreciated the fridge and kitchenette, making it possible to keep food fresh and do simple breakfasts for ourselves (although the hotel bar and restaurant is also a good option). What makes this hotel special is the friendly staff and the location on the sea shore, with nothing between you and the sea. It's far enough away from the Malia *****, yet walkable to charming Malia Old Town. East along the coast is a lovely walk to sandy beaches. The staff were super-helpful with suggestions of places to visit nearby.

Lovely Stay at Pyrgos
Can’t fault our stay, Dimitris and staff were really accommodating for our late arrival and then again for our late flight, allowing us to leave our bags at the hotel. Rooms were really nice and modern and beds were always made for us. The huge balcony with the hot tub was an added bonus. Location is good, around 10-15 mins walk to the strip and 20 to the old town. and the beach is just a few metres away. The pool and Bar facilities were great too. I’d definitely return

It’s a beautiful small sized complex on the outskirts of Malia, which provided a quiet retreat from the lively Malia scene. The complex benefited from beautiful pool gardens and amazing sea views
