We loved our first holiday abroad with our two boys. The hotel was beautiful, the staff helpful and the food delicious!! Such a big range on offer and didn't feel too busy. The beach was very close to the hotel and pools were nice. So convenient having towels and sun loungers in good supply! My boys particularly loved the kids club, the staff really went the extra mile. There was 12 of us 6 adults and 6 children acomadtion food and service was excellent will go back again . Only 1 hr drive from the airport lovly town only 15 mins taxi drive

A large hotel with usual facilities. Room was fine, though shower needs improvement as it wets the bathroom floor. Good choice of breakfast items. Location on main road not seafront so some road noise. No parking. (Though we went to the wrong hotel on arrival and they said we could use their underground car park for €7 a day).

Charged an extra 30 Euro above stated 70 Euros because of the type of room we had booked. The room was not that brilliant. A large bed but very little space to put your clothing for a 10 day stay. Spent 10days here as a return visit. Is a lovely hotel with everything you need and in a perfect position just a few minuted from the beach. We will almost certainly return. Staff are helpfull and friendly. Pool area and bars is as you would like it. Sorry to be leaving. Thank you.

We stayed for a week here recently and had a great time, great location with just short walk into town. Staff are friendly and happy to answer any questions. We had bed and breakfast only but this was more than enough. Plenty to choose from. Would stay here again

Beautiful place! Staff was very friendly! Rooms were cleaned everyday, and at night house keeping would come in and see if you needed more waters or towels. Only reason why I didn’t give it 5 stars was because breakfast was the same thing everyday, I stayed there for 11 nights, and after a few days I got tired of eating the same thing. The staff was very friendly and the yoga teacher was excellent. The property is beautiful and the restaurant is very good. We were disappointed in the private outdoor hot tub because it really wasn't private. Also, the shower in our room only had a 1/2 wall enclosure so the floor was very wet when we used the shower. Overall, it was a nice stay but we would not return.

The hotel itself was spotless. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. The pool was super nice as well as the beach and the breakfast was good. My only complain is we had a jacuzzi in the room but it never really got hot enough to enjoy every day. We spent a week in the Aegean Pearl, right at the end of the season in October, and had a fantastic week. Although it’s a small hop across the road to the beach, there is a pedestrian crossing and the hotel has its own section of beach with sun loungers and umbrellas. Lovely experience from the hotel. clean bedrooms- with towels and daily cleaning to high standards Perfect beachside location, the private beach is delivery to a bed for drinks and snacks. This was our fourth visit to the Fortezza. We were given a friendly welcome and allocated our requested room. We were also able to borrow a kettle from the reception and get pool towels. This is a little beauty of a hotel. Quirky architecture. Really friendly. Right on the beach. The road outside is a bit of a challenge for pedestrians as it is a major easy west link for Rethymnon but once inside you are in a very nice place. Three levels of complimentary sunbeds to the sandy safe beach.

Great spot if you plan on taking a ferry to santorini, its a 20 minute walk. Breakfast was nice here. Only downside was paper thin walls on the first floor, youll be able to hear your neighbors if they are loud!

It was about a 5-minute taxi ride from the bus station, we could use the beach in front, and our room was spacious and open, so we were able to relax. There was a pool inside the hotel, so we went for a swim to relax instead of getting a massage.

Everything was great, spacious room, the view is incredible..just the bathrooms need work, the shower wasn’t working properly and no hot water the second night.

We were provided a list of excursions available through a local tour operator. The front desk staff was helpful in booking the excursion and arranged a bagged meal to be left in our suite as pick-up times didn't allow us to use the breakfast buffet.

This is one of the best hotels I have stayed in Crete. We have been in Crete for 5 weeks and this is by far the best hotel we have stayed.
