Nice place. In the middle of the town. easy to walk around and the stay is great.
Lovely place with a very nice restaurant and bar area. Convenient location for walking around the town. Beautiful views all around.
The room was spacious and immaculately clean with a lovely view of the fjord. Plenty of free parking was available. Internet worked well. Wonderful dinner and drinks in the modern restaurant, and the prices seemed reasonable for Iceland. Would 100% stay here again.
Dated hotel, some rooms seem to have received refurbishment however ours was very dated. Good breakfast, and good location.
Staff were amazing and a great help with everything polite and kind. Knowledgeable of area, helpful with restaurants.
A good hotel in an AMAZING location. Definitely worth a stay, but don't expect big city luxury. Expect the kind of luxury you'd find in a VERY remote northern town.
Excellent service, lovely breakfast, nice stay 🙂

Excellent stay. Everything’s perfect. Great location. Staff extremely friendly.
We stayed at a hotel right next to Skógafoss, and you can drive directly into the Skógafoss parking lot, which makes access extremely convenient.
We had two rooms with views of the mountains and the waterfall, which was truly special. The rooms were a little on the smaller side, but they were very clean and the beds were comfortable.
A useful note: the cold water in the room is safe for drinking, while...
We got caught in a wind storm while camping. When arriving to the campsite it was not open. We went into the hotel for some information. We were greeted by Natalia. She was beyond kind, and informative she helped us reserve a room in the hotel quickly. The restaurant is incredible, very clean!! But above all the staff is so kind and helpful. Natalia saved our day and we are so immensely thankful for...
Friendly staff and nice location
Very nice location, close to the waterfall. The rooms are a bit old though. The breakfast was nice.
I just visited the restaurant for lunch and enjoyed every bite of each plate.
The LASAGNA is a must have plate if you ever passed by the waterfall in the area or checked in the hotel. It’s homemade with love and warmth !! So good you’ll be happy afterwards 🤭 I know I was 🤩

What a beautiful hotel! Very well designed with attention to details (bravo to the interior designer!). The room was very large with all the comforts including access to a small back garden (some rooms have access to the main garden where hot tubs are located). Excellent service, everyone extremely welcoming. We had dinner and breakfast and we were impressed by the quality of the food. Needless to...
We had a reservation at The Hillguest house and had to come here for check-in, given that was the same item. As soon as in reception i've seen a sign with some general information + hot tub. We had to put aside some spa that day precisely because we hadn't enought time and i've asked some information because i've taken that sign like my last opportunity. The (Very very very kind and lovely) girl told...
The Hill was the least favourable location for us during our visit. Although the hotel itself is beautiful and very aesthetically pleasing - which I’m sure is probably part of its selling point to gain influencers that can take beautiful pictures there. But overall the stay was lacklustre.
The pull out bed for our 15 year old was incredibly uncomfortable, we had to line it with pillows for her to get...
We spent our New Year’s Eve here and it was amazing. The hotel is small but that’s the charming part of it: no big crowds, everything feels like home, including the outstanding staff!
Cosy, well decorated and conveniently located at the heart of the Golden Circle. It was perfect!
I would an only recommend a refurbishment of the bathrooms (although they are functional, this hotel deserves a bit more...
The hotel is lovely and they'd decorated it with fairy lights for Christmas which was cute. However, the woman at reception (in charge?) was quite unwelcoming, which set the tone for the rest of the staff - curt and not a smile between them (with the exception of the lovely South American man). I'd also emailed a few days before with a question. Got a reply saying I'd soon get a reply from reception...
Everything was great! Just wish breakfast was included but over all staff was sweet room was cleaned every day and the hot tub was fun!

Reykjavik, Austurstræti 6, Midborg 🧭 Map
The hotel is conveniently located in downtown and 3 mins to bus stop 3. The rooms are decent sized with amenities. The staff was nice. But if you’re staying here on the weekend and facing the street then just be prepared it’s really loud with all the surrounding bars and clubs
Overall: A generally sweet boutique hotel with excellent location. Glad that they had a room available for immediate check-in, given our long flight. Loved the bedding and the extra-thick quilt for winter-y weather. The room, though, does not come with air-conditioning, but you can make do with the openable window. The heater, on the other hand, works perfectly. The room lacks a tissue box, and the...
Expensive, like everything in Reykjavik. There was a qr code to get free breakfast at neighbor hotel, but you do have to pay for it in reservation (kind of misleading). Our room was amazing. Location you can't beat. Needed soap and you have to get it yourself, but they didn't have any. We eventually got soap.
We were given a lovely warm welcome and the staff were amazing throughout our stay. Nice sized room with everything you need and really comfortable bed. A bit of noise from the street outside but the hotel provides you with earplugs and a sleep mask which was a nice touch.
It's OK, a little noisy on the street

This is a good boutique hotel with rooms that give a quality feel. Excellent shower and balcony that added to my stay after enjoying my adventures in Iceland, I knew I would come back to a warm and clean room. The Breakfast was a great way to start your day. The only tiny issue was a loud door closing in the corridor due to a heavy spring closure. Great staff.
Excellent hotel, great views, and attentive service.
I was looking for an affordable hotel in Iceland, where prices are high, and I ended up here. The room was so small that I had to sleep on the bed, but the bed and linens were comfortable enough to help me relax and recover from my fatigue.
2-night stay
The location is great and the downstairs bar is excellent. The breakfast is good but a bit hit and miss with some items. Coffee is excellent! The basic rooms are very small, so if with two suitcases gets cramped. Staff is lovely.
Good Spot
Clean room and property. The front desk was very helpful and patient with our many questions about the area.
The hotel is a 5-minute walk from the pier, and the staff are friendly. While there's no parking available, there are paid parking spaces opposite the hotel, and free parking is a 10-minute walk away, but ask the staff. Breakfast is simple, and the seating is limited, but perfect, with no waiting. Children can share a bed at no extra charge.

The room is small and lacks things like a litter bin, a hot water kettle, and a desk.
Stayed in a triple room with 3 single beds.
Good thing is that we can use their restaurant microwave for ramen. So come here with all the food you can bring.
The room is a bit small, but that's the case for all hotels in Iceland. The surrounding environment is very good. You can hike on the hill in front of the hotel. There is a large lake behind the hotel. When the weather is good, you can see snow-capped mountains in the distance. The grass and birch forest on the side are very pleasing to the eye. There is also a hot spring pool facing the lake not far...
Close to Pingvellir and Geysir. A good base for your southern itinerary.
They have a restaurant for dinner and breakfast.
Small little town, stayed in Annex facing the lake. Clean and spacious. Coffee and tea are free.

this was the hotel icelandair stuck us with because the delay out of zurich made us miss our connection. very basic, adequate under the circumstances. check in was slow because there was only one lady at the desk and there were many of us. Iair probably uses this hotel all the time because it is empty. As one guy put it, it was the worst hotel he has stayed in. It wasn't that bad as it had a bed...
The staff was super friendly, even changing my room so I would have a better view in case the northern lights would make an appearance! I had to be up super early for a flight so in-room coffee makers would be my suggestion. Otherwise staff gave me a complimentary transfer back to the airport, what more could I ask for?!
The Keilir is a very nice family owned Hotel. It is clean, safe, has good heat and fist internet. The breakfast is simple but nice and food is fresh. I have stayed at just about every hotel in Keflavik and for my money Hotel Keilir is the best value. I've spent dozens of nights there and I always look forward to my stay.
Hotel Keiler is lovely, nice rooms and conveniently located in town. Staff is the best part, very friendly and helpful especially when we were in a tough travel situation working through Icelandair. Can’t thank staff enough for the help!
One note, you’ll need shampoo, or may need to ask about it on arrival. A grocery store for affordable needs is just 2 min walk though!
The beds were very comfortable, and the staff was great. Excellent hotel within walking distance of several restaurants.

My husband loved this place. It’s always hard to rate these types of places because everybody’s looking for something different and it is very casual here. We loved how casual it was. The rooms were so cool. I would’ve loved to have had time to hide the area. We were very pleased with this place and would stay here again.
Good location for exploring the area. The hotel itself isn't the best. Furniture is dated, our shower was broken, we heard the neighbors clearly... The young man at the reception was super nice. All in all, we would...

This hotel has an incredible view over the nearby river and the mountains beyond.

Most satisfying hotel in Iceland. Clean room, nice view, kind staff. Unforgettable experience.
Crazy little find in what feels like the middle of nowhere. Clean, right in town, and the most comfortable beds we’ve had on our trip. Great breakfast spread too. Formerly a convent, this hotel was super cozy and lovely to stay at. Patrick was amazing and super friendly - he actually made us a dinner reservation at a local spot in town too! Simon An from Korea.
We stayed one night at this hotel, the hotel is family run & is staffed. They have a hot tub & sauna available as well. The rooms are quiet, clean & cozy. Nothing super amazing about this hotel but decent. The views are pretty good from here as a river runs beside & they have a nice fountain out front. They didn't shovel the snow until much later in the day. Ample parking here for free.
Lovely staff. We really just needed a place to stay for the evening while traveling around the country. Location was easy to access for us.
Staff is very helpful. The breakfast is fresh and delicious. There is also sauna and hot spring facilities which we can enjoy a lot!
After a long day travel, we arrived early at 3 o’clock, and we’re very disappointed that we could not even sit in a lobby. Accommodations
Work great and the staff were very helpful. We were hoping to leave early to start the golden ring circle before the crowds however, breakfast does not start until 8 o’clock, which is a little late for trying to get an early start..

Very popular place to stay in Myvatn area. Very good communal kitchen. Met some very interesting fellow travellers whilst cooking dinner. Good place to stay....for sure.
I stayed in a twin room with shared facilities and had an amazing stay. The living room was cosy, the kitchen big and the shared bathroom clean. The bedroom was also spacious.
Location is perfect, in between many spots of Myvtan.
Would totally recommend
So far it was the best place we stayed in in Iceland. The room was confortable, the shared bathroom big and clean. The kitchen had everything you could need and the dining area was cosy, which isn't the case in many places. Would recommend!
No wifi working. Too small rooms with no enough hanging clothes, no shampoo or soap in the shoewr. Only three showers in the building only one hairdrayer. the reception is at daddys pizza but it was not specified and we had to call (we enter it first but no one paid attention to us)
The sleeping cabins have everything a tired traveler will need. Spacious and clean washrooms. Practical shared kitchen. Power points outside for those who wants to (slow) charge their cars. Minutes away from food. A perfect resting place for passing traveler.

Wonderful little hotel (and a great spot to enjoy the northern lights). Dinner was a delicious soup. Breakfast tasty, too. And just a calm/calming place to be. All NL pics were taken on the property. The last one was taken through the window of our room!
Nice property out of the way. If not for cloud cover would have been perfect for the Northern Lights.
We loved our stay and your hotel. My only suggestion is to consider preserving an area for viewing the Aurora and the night sky. the area back by the hot tub would work well if the lights were changed to minimize the light interference.
One of the best hotels in Iceland, very friendly staff, Hot Tube was the best after all day hiking. Spacious rooms with great view, coffee mashine and kettle in the room, comfortable beds, great showers. Very clean. Luxury cosmetics in the showers.

Easy self check in as we were late. We were lucky to sighted aurora during our one night stay there
This guesthouse-style hotel is located on the edge of town. It's generally clean and tidy, and the rooms are spacious. For the price in Iceland, you really can't complain.
Breathtaking Views, Located in Hofn town, clean, comfort and convenient, good restaurants are within walking distance. Breakfast is simple with quality good food, Free flow of drinks all day.
Super clean! All the amenities you’d need and a decent breakfast to fill you up before you hit the road. Great view as well. And prime location if you’re staying in Hofn.
A great stay to go around Hofn and the Diamond beach. It also offers breakfast which is basic things but enough for us. The staff was very helpful and friendly, and the room we had was quite spacious.

We stayed at this hotel the first night on our Iceland trip. An easy drive from the airport and in a great location.

Simple cottage with hot spring at the reception area. Kitchen was well equipped and managed to cook some food. However, heater in the room was not too strong. We were quite cold as the temperature dipped the night we were there. We managed to catch the aurora right from our room windows! That was only because the location was great and no light pollution around.
We saw the aurora borealis when we arrived. Make sure to arrive at this hotel early, as the front desk isn't open 24 hours. After watching the aurora for a while, we quickly checked in because the staff were about to leave. Before they leave, check if the heating is warm enough; if not, adjust the temperature while they're still there.
Wonderful place to stay! We were here for just one night and we all wish we had booked a longer stay! The cabins are so cute and have a terrific view! The staff was terrific and meals were great. They were happy to make special food items for our 5 year old.
We are very much hoping to be back here again and stay longer to really take advantage of all Hestheimar has to offer!!
The people working for the place were kind and friendly. However the owner was insane. They keep reiceving the customers even though there was serious problem in the room 4, 5 and 6 where the floor heating was not working at all.
You have to pay extra money to avoid the room 4, 5 and 6 otherwise just get the cold feet for the cold room.

We stayed here for two nights with our older teenage children (over 2 rooms). The rooms were very clean, had a great shower room and very comfortable beds. We loved the hot tub and the breakfast was very good too. There was also a communal lounge with complementary hot drinks. It was a great place to base ourselves for exploring the area. Good value for money.
We arrived late and were still able to pick up room keys with no bother. Nice to speak to someone and get advice about local area in the morning. Breakfast was great, home made bread was delicious.

Vik, 2 Klettsvegur, 870 Vik, Yuzhnaya Islandiya, Islandiya 🧭 Map
Stayed one night at Hotel Vik on a recent trip to Iceland. The people at the front desk were very welcoming and helpful. The hotel is pretty and clean and a great choice if you are heading out to Vik or the surrounding area. The room was very spacious with huge windows that I loved. Everything was great but would have liked a door on the shower. Wish we had stayed longer to enjoy the lounging areas...
Nice hotel with great location near attractions. Room is comfortable but a little small even for family room.
Super cozy hotel, a well-known brand amenity provided.
Wifi, kettle, coffee tea are included in the room.
Super worthy to have breakfast there wif loads of option
Free parking and there’s gas station/Supermarket in the opposite .
affordable, staff very helpful an walking distance to everything in Vik. Would stay again. Free parking. Useful TV screen in lobby with weather/traffic reports to help you plan your day. hubby checked out the bar said it was great and staff were fantastic there also. Room was clean and basic as expected. no complaints
The standard rooms are small, and our shower had a curtain, so water ran all over the bathroom. It's fine for one night, but if you're traveling with a group, I recommend staying in the nearby suites at the same hotel. The breakfast is very good; they even have watermelon, and that's in winter.
Overall great room when we needed a place last minute when weather prohibited us from moving forward. Clean, spacious, nice restroom, and great views no matter what side of the hall you are on. Good breakfast, and late checkout at noon.
