A guesthouse you can find by taking a short detour off National Route 1. The accommodation itself is satisfying, but I especially recommend the handmade gelato from the farm. It is suitable for a one-night stay.

The scenery around the hotel is stunning, and the accommodations are tranquil and comfortable. It's incredibly close to the glacier, and the sunrise there is breathtaking. The breakfast is also quite good.

The hotel is beautiful, with a lawn in front of it where cows stand, sit, or lie down, overlooking Vatnajökull Glacier. It's as if the cows are growing on the ceiling. The rooms are well-equipped, but the soundproofing is poor. However, the foreign guests are very considerate; even the noisiest restaurant and lounge areas quiet down after 8-9 pm.

The hotel is very well located on the road to Hofn. The room was magnificent: large, with a breathtaking view of the mountains and glaciers. It looked like a picture on the wall, but it was our bay window. The staff was very friendly, the breakfast perfect, and the homemade ice creams were delicious and original (dandelion flavor, a delight).

Excessive price for a business that needs interior renovations. July is usually more expensive, but the value for money isn't right. It feels like a place that's been through a lot and the business is doing well, but compared to other guesthouses, it feels outdated. It lacks warmth. Breakfast was adequate.

The hotel is located in a big town with a nice surrounding. Go to the gas station to refuel and wash your car. The hotel rooms are fully equipped and comfortable, the front desk staff are warm and polite, and the parking lot is convenient for parking.

Beautiful venue, would highly recommend. Had been doing the ring road in a van that would last couple of days was so wonderful to come into such a cleanup, aesthetic, and calm environment to spend the night again. The breakfast was a big highlight, it’s not very often a hotel breakfast tastes like a home cooked meal!

Originally we did not receive the code for the floor door, but the help we received was good. The room itself was very neat and tidy, and had all the equipments we need to make our stay comfortable. There is a bonus 5 mins walk away if you need anything and the location of the hotel is ideal.

The apartment had everything although there is questionable staining above the one window and lots of moisture around the window. We had a great stay in Kast guesthouse (triple room with private bathroom). It's a basic guesthouse with basic breakfast but as usually in Iceland you travel all day and need cozy, comfy place to stay for a night, this was perfect. This is not a 5 star accommodation as in luxury etc. But it by no means deserved a 4 star review , so I had to give it 5. Lovely and cosy and clean. Very very helpful and friendly staff. We also had the breakfast basket added and it was fantastic, such a lovely treat every day. Would highly recommended both for couples and especially for families.

We absolutely loved our apartment which had a separate double bedroom and twin beds in the living area. Having a sofa, kitchen and dining table was lovely - it felt like being at home. the breakfast baskets delivered to our door were very generous and good quality. The kids loved having a PlayStation! Good location close to the main shopping street and places to eat. Highly recommended.

We stayed only one night but found our little cabin to be quaint and quite comfortable. We found all that we needed although the bathroom was small and we would have appreciated more lighting in there. We loved the location and surrounding area of the mountains and a view of the water. This hotel is close to Vik town and near the plane wreck. It has a very cozy, guesthouse-like feel.

The location is a bit remote, so you'll need a car to get there. The breakfast was delicious! You'll see lots of horses and sheep along the way too.

We booked a room for four that had a private bathroom. The room was clean and comfortable. However, there was a slight drainage problem in the shower. The size of the room was manageable and sufficient for our short stay, although we were housed in the loft with a slanted roof, so we all accidentally bumped our heads a few times. Breakfast was pretty decent—think bread, cold cuts, cereal, boiled eggs...

A good place to stay. The rooms are spartan yet immaculate and warm, with excellent showers. There is a common room with kettle, microwave and refrigerator. Breakfast is normally served from March onwards, but they did offer breakfast during our stay in late February.

Overall, we had a good experience staying at Seljavellir Guesthouse. The car park was spacious, and the room was clean and large. The only downside was that the room directional signage wasn’t clearly visible from the car park—we ended up walking a big round in the winter cold to locate our room.

Very modern hotel with nice and big rooms. We had some bad luck with the weather so we had to stay there all day, which can get quite boring. The town of Höfn is around the corner but there was nothing much to see. A big plus for the hotel was the breakfast, though. With freshly made scrambled and fried eggs and tasty bread we had everything we needed.

Amazing experience at Bru - we stayed in Jan and the cottage was very well warmed and cleaned. We had problems retrieving the keys but the owner was super kind and fast in helping us get them. The bungalow is situated in the middle of an open field, making it easy to see the Northern Lights. The room size was sufficient for our group, and the kitchen was adequately equipped for cooking. The rooms were clean and ideal for relaxation.

The price is typical of Iceland, but it's perfectly satisfactory for a night's stay! You'll need to drive about 3km on an unpaved road, so you may want to consider whether to have a car, especially during the winter. Really good value compared to other hotels near the airport. Beds were very comfortable and the rooms well appointed. You have to self check in but everything went smoothly. We liked the common kitchen area plus the rooms have a mini kitchen and fridge.

Well, you sleep in boxes, it was fun for just one night stay, we arived very late at night and this was no problem at all. Compared to the low prices everything was ok. It would have been nice to be able to control the temperature in the box, but the air cycler did a fine job.

The location is very clean, and you have a small kitchenette to cook some hot food if you like. It's a great spot to look at the Aurora when it appears. Also, they have some games that you can play with the family. It's a quiet location to enjoy some strolls near the lake or in a small forest.

The bathroom was a bit dirty, likely because the window above the toilet was always open, resulting in dust accumulation on the toilet, sink, and floor. The kitchen had a portable induction cooker, and the tableware was fairly complete, but some dishes had some grease residue. The overall environment was quite nice.

Our group was struck by strong winds and we were not able to move forward in our return back at our hotel. This one offered us a very warm hospitality, with hot tea, water, cake and they also cooked for us soup. We had the chance to rest, charge our phones and wait for the storm to slow down. As we were returning to Reykjavík, the weather got much worse, with strong winds and a heavy snowstorm, making it impossible not to stop somewhere. There were 40 of us, and they hosted all of us for a few hours until the weather calmed down. They prepared delicious fish and tomato soups for us. We got stuck in a road nearby due to strong winds and these amazing people took as in. Served as tea , cake and the most tasty soup. The facilities were really clean. I can't recommend them enough!!!!! If I ever visit Iceland again I will defently stay in this hotel. Hopefully with better weather

Cottage is very basic and rustic. Some cottages have parking in front, others do not. The bed was fine but the pillows were paper thin with one per person. Bathroom was clean but needed some tending to. Pictures look great online vs in person. If you’re looking for a decent location that is a bit budget friendly, the cottages are fine. Just expect a rustic look experience.

Cottages were comfy and it was nice that the weather was good enough to sit outside on the patio. It would be easier if it was possible to park the car at the cottage though. Depending on where your cottage lies the way from the car park with a heavy suitcase can become quite long... Especially when it rains. Diner at the Arnarstapi center was rather underwhelming. Ive stayed in better It was fine, bed was comfortable but the room was very bare bones, only one pillow, hot water only lasted 3-5min, felt like a $75 cabin you would rent in an american state park but they charged you $300 + a night. Ive stayed in better hotels in iceland that make more sense value to cost. Theres no view no skylite the big window you see just faces other cotages.

Cottage lovely, food good. No sleep due to blasting music and drunken shouting by a group 9pm-2am, got a migraine. Nothing about quiet time or expected behaviour. When I complained, the guy knew but 'nothing I can do'. Messaged for hours during the noise, noone ever replied. Not good enough. Real shame as a repeat guest I came for peace and got none.

The location is good, about 40 minutes from the geyser, and it is quite dark around at night. The houses are built around three hot spring pools. You can soak in the hot springs at night while watching the stars and the aurora. At least one of them is hot 24 hours a day. Rooms are very clean and spacious and the staff is exceptionally friendly. There's free tea and coffee (even without booking breakfast) and a very nice shared kitchen and a comfy dining space. A hot tub is also available and an outside winter garden with seat space is provided as well. Shared bathrooms are separate from shared toilets.

I have never felt so well cared for! I really felt like I found an ally in Iceland to give me advice. The washer here was broken so our hostess took our laundry home and brought it back fresh and folded. We enjoyed our stay so much. Great accommodations and a great hostess!

One of the best valued guest houses we have stayed in our 8 days trip in Iceland, with great clean rooms and shared kitchen (free coffees) and bathroom facilities. Great if you are tight in budget and want to cook your own meals. Theres plenty of free parking around. 2nd trip in Iceland and 2nd time staying here. There is not much choice in the area but that does not detract from the cottages. They are cozy and close to the geothermal areas, dettifoss, etc. I stayed in the new large cottage with the hot tub but it was not worth the cost, very sparse inside. If there is a 3rd time I would stay in one of the smaller cabins.

The rooms are wooden cottage, loves the exterior. The interior is a bit with ages, yet perfectly function. Had a huge window from the room, seeing Krafla, stars and aurora from the window, love it. Shared kitchen is cute and lovely. The breakfast is super nice with perfect view of myvatn. Got discounted ticket for Myvatn Bath from them and they helped for booking, yay!

Check in windows seemed to be only 1 hour. It may have been OK to arrive after the desk staff was gone, but that was not clear in our instruction. The directions made is seem like we had to arrive within a 1 hour window. All other aspects of the visit were nice.
