My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Guesthouse Galtafell. It was very clean with great amenities and a spacious bathroom. The hosts are also very kindhearted and let us keep our luggage there post check out while we went on a day trip. Thorey and her husband go above and beyond to make guests feel welcome and special.

This suited us perfectly for a three night stay. The building looks great from the outside. The room was a little quirky but clean and functional. Beds were comfortable and if you like a cheeky afternoon nap (like me) the sofa is also comfortable. Easy to check in and out. No hassle or fuss.

The room was beautiful and cozy. We ended up in a bad situation and the owners let me stay in a room after we had already checked out until the situation was over. They did their best to help even though they didn't have to. They were really kind and helpful. The location was also a big plus and they watch out for your security.

Bathroom/Toilet is not as clean as expected

The rooms are clean for a budget hotel but the walls are paper thin. I can hear everytime someone takes a poop and when he goes to the shower or uses the tap. There is only 1 bathroom at every floor with the sink, toilet and shower in the same room so it cannot be used concurrently. This means we have to wait >30mins for each person to poop, then shower etc. You can only imagine what it is like on...

Clean motel in beautiful area. Unfortunately the only place you can take advantage of the view is the picnic table in the parking lot. Small window in room with no view of much and the room with all the windows and seating that is advertised is only open for breakfast. We got stuck in some bad weather, and ran into some closed roads, and were going to arrive after check in time. However, some wonderful person at Eldá responded to my text immediately and let me know they would save my room keys and check in info on the desk for me! The people at Eldá are incredibly nice, helpful and professional. Plus the room and amenities are wonderful!

We stayed here as part of our ring roadtrip. The place is cost effective. The walls were very thin and we had a group of Spanish guests who were very lound in the same area but besides that, the place was warm and had a kitchen and very accessible.

Beautiful venue, would highly recommend. Had been doing the ring road in a van that would last couple of days was so wonderful to come into such a cleanup, aesthetic, and calm environment to spend the night again. This hotel is close to Vik town and near the plane wreck. It has a very cozy, guesthouse-like feel.

The location is a bit remote, so you'll need a car to get there. The breakfast was delicious! You'll see lots of horses and sheep along the way too.

We booked a room for four that had a private bathroom. The room was clean and comfortable. However, there was a slight drainage problem in the shower. The size of the room was manageable and sufficient for our short stay, although we were housed in the loft with a slanted roof, so we all accidentally bumped our heads a few times. Breakfast was pretty decent—think bread, cold cuts, cereal, boiled eggs...

A good place to stay. The rooms are spartan yet immaculate and warm, with excellent showers. There is a common room with kettle, microwave and refrigerator. Breakfast is normally served from March onwards, but they did offer breakfast during our stay in late February.

Overall, we had a good experience staying at Seljavellir Guesthouse. The car park was spacious, and the room was clean and large. The only downside was that the room directional signage wasn’t clearly visible from the car park—we ended up walking a big round in the winter cold to locate our room.

The town of Höfn is around the corner but there was nothing much to see. A big plus for the hotel was the breakfast, though. Amazing experience at Bru - we stayed in Jan and the cottage was very well warmed and cleaned. We had problems retrieving the keys but the owner was super kind and fast in helping us get them. The bungalow is situated in the middle of an open field, making it easy to see the Northern Lights. The room size was sufficient for our group, and the kitchen was adequately equipped for cooking. The rooms were clean and ideal for relaxation.

You'll need to drive about 3km on an unpaved road, so you may want to consider whether to have a car, especially during the winter. Really bad reception service, the doors couldn’t be locked from inside or outside. The door was opened by the wind at night. The electrify shouted down at night without knowing any reason then the room became all dark. The air condition is noisy and vibrated all night.

Surprised by so many rave reviews, I’d give this place a 3.5 at most. Views are great from the deck (get there by sunset if you can) but the bathroom is not ideal. The location is very clean, and you have a small kitchenette to cook some hot food if you like. It's a great spot to look at the Aurora when it appears. Also, they have some games that you can play with the family. It's a quiet location to enjoy some strolls near the lake or in a small forest.

The bathroom was a bit dirty, likely because the window above the toilet was always open, resulting in dust accumulation on the toilet, sink, and floor.
