My wife and I recently stayed at Spring House Hotel, and it exceeded every expectation we had for a stay in Rome. The property itself is outstanding - beautifully designed, extremely comfortable, and clearly very well maintained. Our room was modern, spotless, and thoughtfully appointed, making it a perfect place to recharge after long days exploring the city.

What truly sets this hotel apart, however, is the staff. Every member of the team we encountered was exceptionally professional, welcoming, and eager to help with anything we needed. Their hospitality felt genuine and attentive without ever being intrusive. It is rare to encounter a staff so consistently helpful and gracious.

The location is simply phenomenal. The entrance to the Vatican Museums is literally about a two-minute walk from the hotel, which made visiting the museums incredibly easy. St. Peter’s Basilica is also just a short and pleasant walk away. For anyone planning to spend time in Vatican City or the surrounding neighborhoods, the convenience cannot be overstated.

At the same time, the hotel sits in a great part of Rome with excellent restaurants, cafés, and shops nearby, making it easy to explore the broader city while still being tucked into a quieter, comfortable area.

In short, Spring House Hotel offers an exceptional combination of location, comfort, and hospitality. It is an elegant, welcoming, and remarkably convenient base for experiencing Rome. I would absolutely stay here again and recommend it without hesitation to anyone visiting the Vatican or the city as a whole.

Very nice hotel. The room was spacious and the staff was wonderful. We only stayed one night and didn't eat there, so I can't comment about that. Also, we went "off season" so the price was competitive. I'm not sure what the numbers would look like at the height of tourist season (but that's an issue everywhere).

Two things to note:

First: If you're seeing the Vatican, this place is optimal. It is 3 minutes away from the area where all the tours meet. Literally--I timed it when I walked over for our tour). It's perfectly situated in that regard. Also, there are plenty of eating options in the area. Nice shopping too. I was really pleased with this property and the location.

However--and this is not a knock on the property, itself, at all--staying in the area of the Vatican is not "optimal" for an extended trip to Rome. Most of the attractions are in other parts of the city. It worked for us because of our itinerary: We flew into Rome and stayed closer to the Colosseum for a few days, then we took a train to Florence and spent a few days there. We rented a car in Florence and drove back to Rome through Tuscany, staying in Orvieto one night. Then we stayed at this hotel and toured the Vatican on our last day and dropped off the car at the airport when we flew out. The trip was great and this hotel was the perfect place for us to end the journey.

Regardless, if you are going to stay in the Vatican area, then I highly recommend this property.

Second: If you are self-parking there and you rented a manual car, then you better know how to drive it well. The parking garage has a steep slope and tight spaces. Getting into the garage isn't so tough, but getting out is going to be tricky if you're not a seasoned driver of a stick-shift. The turn to get up the ramp and the exit both have steep slopes, so prepare yourself.

Just finished a two night stay and I wish it had been more. The staff is friendly and efficient. Everyone from Diana, who checked me in and gave me a Diamond upgrade to the room, to the bartenders working the bar and restaurant. The room was clean and updated. The location is perfect if you have any visits to the Vatican planned. It's less than 200 meters from the entrance to the museums. Hope to be back very soon!

Such a wonderful experience we had here.
Car park on site (€20 a day) which was very helpful.

Most of the staff are very attentive to the cleanliness spot on everywhere.

Strategical positions of the hotel allow you to walk everywhere:

- 15 minutes walk for vatican square
- 30 minutes walk for Navona square
- 45 minutes walk for Colosseum

Easy map can be provided at the reception.

Very helpful and friendly staff always able to help.

Grazie Mille a tutti.

This is my last night of a seven night stay. I wanted to write my review while I can remember everything! This is a fabulous modern hotel! The location is great—5 minutes from the Vatican Museum entrance, 5 minutes from the Cipro metro stop (line A the best), 5 minutes from a good sized grocery store called Todis near the stairs to go up to the museum. I walked a lot all over Rome and also used the metro many times. The hotel has a nice comfy and friendly vibe. I chose it out of three Hilton properties I was considering. I liked that it was near the Vatican (about 15 minute walk to St Peter’s along the Vatican walls).
I reserved a king deluxe room but got upgraded to one with a balcony due to my gold HH status. The room is a nice size with all the things I look for—multiple outlets including usb a and c, empty fridge (2 bottles water stocked daily), multiple lights, table and chairs, robe and slippers, reading lights, big rain shower with lots of hot water and pressure, shelf to put toiletries, face towels, pump bottles with soap etc just in case you didn’t bring. Staff is so kind and friendly. The breakfast hot items are switched up daily—number of hot and cold items beautifully presented.
The room price per night was very reasonable. I used Uber a few times. I would totally stay here again!!!

From the moment we stepped into the hotel we felt very welcomed.
The staff is amazing here.
Our first time to Rome.
At check in, the clerk gave us a map of Rome and with a highlighter, marked all the main attractions to see. This made our adventure very easy and this was very helpful.
The “spa/hot tub” was just what our bodies needed after we walked miles around the city.
It was the perfect Place to relax on a very hot day.
The water is the best temperature for a hot muggy day.
The location is right beside the Vatican and with the Metro (transportation system) close by, it made it very easy to get around.
We were going to do a hop on hop off bus tour, but with the stories of busses being full and the stops really lined up… which they are.
We decided to do our own adventure with a day transportation pass.
It was much cheaper and better than relying on a bus that you may or may not get on.
We preferred this route in the end.
There is most likely a lot more walking but so worth it.
Nothing held us up doing what we wanted.
The breakfast at this hotel is top notch!
Every morning we had a great breakfast to start the day.
The presentation of the food was almost feeling like a fine dining restaurant.
Perfect way to start the day.
I have been to many best westerns and this is by far the number one on my list.
Once again, the STAFF is amazing and very friendly.
I highly recommend this hotel.

Great hotel. In a sea of poor Italian customer service, this was an oasis of relief. The front desk staff was very kind and engaging. They also allowed us to check in early which was a huge relief to escape the 100deg heat. If I'm ever forced to go to Rome again, then I will be sure to stay here.

This hotel is within site of the Vatican which was our goal. My husband and I landed in Rome and had only two hours before our tour of the Vatican. The hotel held our baggage while we went on the tour and put in our room when it was available. The room was clean, string a/c and good price. The best part of the property is the staff who are friendly and helpful. I would like to commend Hector, Natasha and Chiara for assisting with returning the item left in the safe. What a surprise to receive it back. I do not think I would have received the same courtesy in the United States.

The best part was the staff. Each person we can in contact with was amazing. Customer experience definitely a priority here. We had a 3 and a 6 year old, the team went out of their way to make us comfortable. The room and facility was modern and very clean. Very close to the metro and the Vatican. If I go back to Rome, I would stay here again.

We stayed here for 5 nights in May 2024 and really enjoyed our stay. We are a family of 4 (2 teenagers) and reserved the loft room with a king bed and 2 twin beds (pull out bed can be used as 2 twins) It is located just around the block from the Vatican and a couple blocks from the metro. The staff, especially Ricardo in the restaurant and Ettore (I hope I spelled that right? He works the front desk and is AMAZING) were wonderful and so helpful with any questions we had. The continental breakfast was 15 euros per person and worth it. They had a wide variety of options. The restaurant was honestly better than most restaurants we tried in the city and much less expensive. The club sandwich, carbonara and lasagna were our favorites. The only thing I would suggest is replacing the king bed in the room we were in. It is extremely worn and my husband had to sleep on an air mattress after night one. When we woke up he could barely walk and my back was in agony, but we made due. Overall, the hotel was great, the staff were great and the location was perfect for us!
